Chapter 142 - Crisis, Father, and Son

The midday sun.

The sun shone brightly.

The sunlight hit Byron, as if it were a form of energy, or perhaps it had unlocked a seal within his body. A strange transformation occurred on Byron's back.

His previously slender frame became full and robust, with bulging muscles appearing. In just a short moment, the thin boy was forcibly transformed into a two-meter-tall, muscular man.

But what was even more striking was that his eyes instantly turned pure black, appearing like two deep, dark gems in the night, terrifying to behold.

"Roar!"

Like a Werewolf or a Berserker, Byron suddenly stood up.

"What's wrong?" Clark stood guard in front of the two women, wary. But in the next instant, Byron, like a bolt of lightning, pounced in front of Clark, swinging his fist with a standard uppercut, slamming it into Clark's chin.

Boom!

Clark was sent flying before he even had a chance to react.

He was launched into the air, traveling dozens of meters before smashing through a wooden hut and crashing into the barn.

"Hoo… hoo!"

Having punched Clark away, Byron was breathing heavily, like a Werewolf.

His bestial panting made Lana and Chloe's faces pale.

But, to their surprise, Byron didn't pay any attention to them after knocking Clark away. Perhaps he didn't see the two women as a threat.

He bent his knees slightly and leaped far away, his shirtless figure disappearing into the dense forest.

After Byron disappeared, Clark, covered in dust, emerged rather disheveled from the abandoned cottage.

He brushed the dust off his clothes,

and still couldn't believe Byron had sent him flying with a single punch.

The big guy rubbed his aching jaw, looking at Lana and Chloe, and asked anxiously, "Where did Byron go?"

That guy's condition was really off right now; they had to find him immediately.

"Clark."

Lana swallowed hard, nervously saying, "I, we seem to be in trouble."

"Byron ran off."

The three of them looked at each other.

They hadn't expected things to turn out like this at all.

"What should we do, Clark?" Lana asked anxiously. "If Byron runs loose on the streets in that state, it'll be a disaster."

"I... I don't know..." Clark was also at a loss, but then, he thought of something.

The big guy clapped his hands and puffed out his chest. "I have an idea!"

"Wh-what is it?"

Clark looked pleased. "Why don't we ask Gino?"

Luthor Chemical Plant.

After the incident with the black man's hostage situation, the factory's security level was undoubtedly raised several notches.

Now, entering and exiting the factory even required going through specialized security equipment to ensure that personnel were not carrying any metal objects that could threaten personal safety.

But Clark and the others were stopped outside the door by security.

After waiting for about a minute, Gino, wearing a white shirt, finally walked out of the factory.

"What happened?"

Chloe, not having time to argue with Gino, anxiously told the young man about Byron.

"So..."

Gino stared at the three of them with a strange expression: "You guys let a highly dangerous guy out of the 'cell' where he was being held?"

"Y-yes, that's probably it."

The group lowered their heads, looking ashamed.

"Sigh." Gino rubbed his forehead; he was truly impressed by Clark and the others' ability to stir up trouble.

Clark looked at Gino expectantly, "So, what do we do now?"

"Don't worry," Gino calmly reassured Clark and the others.

The youth simply snapped his fingers. Accompanied by a gentle breeze, magical energy from Heaven quickly swept through the town in the form of a light wind.

"Found him."

Since the age of eight, Byron felt as though his life had been spent in a dark, sunless underground wine cellar.

He couldn't be exposed to sunlight, or he would go berserk and harm others.

This strange characteristic made him hate himself, and also hate his parents.

If they hadn't sent him into that damn experiment, he could have enjoyed a peaceful and happy life like other normal people.

Going to high school, chasing a nice girlfriend, then breaking up, taking out a loan to go to college, working to pay off the loan, getting married, having children, and living out his life.

But all of this was ruined. He could only be like a worm hiding in the shadows, relieving his pain day after day with beautiful poems.

But, Byron, once again in a state of mania, didn't intend to live that kind of life anymore.

Whether they were animals or humans, they all had emotions, and they all felt anger.

Byron, running through the dense forest at this moment, had only one thought.

That was revenge, to take revenge on Lionel, the owner of the Metron Lab, the culprit who caused all of this!

"Heh heh."

Running through the dense forest, Byron's ten fingers slowly sprouted sharp, curved claws.

Tear apart Lionel's throat, and kill that damn seed-capitalist!

At Luthor Manor, Lionel was, as usual, tormenting Lex.

"Well, your resume is very good. Yale graduate, but your work experience is too poor."

Ignoring Lex's sullen gaze, Lionel slowly said, "You haven't been hired by the Luthor Group."

The interviewee left, disappointed, but Lionel, as if he had won a battle, sneered at Lex, even though he couldn't see him: "I have to say, your judgment is really bad."

All he got in response was Lex's cold laugh.

Lionel was about to say something, but a few shrill screams from outside interrupted him.

"What was that?"

Lex stood up alertly and slowly walked towards the window.

Through the clean glass, Lex saw a figure moving with incredible speed, knocking over the security guards at the gate.

At the same time, the castle gates were pushed open, and the old butler ran into the hall with a serious expression: "Master, young master, you must leave immediately."

"There's a strange fellow trying to break into the castle."

Lionel was dismissive, angrily tapping his cane: "Are the guards I brought useless? Can't stop a single intruder?"

The old butler shook his head, interrupting Lionel's incessant complaints: "There's no time to complain. You should go to the top floor immediately. There's a helicopter parked there, and young master Lex will fly it."

Time was of the essence. The old butler's impeccable professionalism meant his only concern at the moment was the safety of his master.

"Take us," he instructed.

Compared to Lionel's stubbornness, Lex was clearly much smarter and knew how to assess the situation.

He stood up and headed towards the stairs, glancing out the window as he went.

The few security guards who had been fighting the mysterious man earlier were now lying motionless on the lawn, their fate unknown.

"Hmph, only cowards run away. Jack, organize the manor staff and prepare the firearms."

Lionel dismissed Lex's reaction, sticking to his guns. He pushed up his sunglasses. "I believe in the power of thermal weapons!"

"If he dares to come in, shoot him dead!"
