"I must become stronger."
On the top floor of Gotham Hospital.
Gino stood on the rooftop, his gaze drifting over the distant scenery.
Humans are never satisfied. When you have one dollar, you want ten, and when you have ten, you want more.
Holding the cold, green Kryptonite in his hand, the deadly poison of the past had become a crucial substance for Gino to continually grow stronger.
It nourished his body every moment, making him even more powerful and terrifying.
"Tap, tap..."
The sound of heels on the floor interrupted Gino's thoughts.
Talia wore a black short-sleeved shirt and a black miniskirt, with pale green lipstick on her lips, as she looked at the young man.
At this moment, Gino was facing away from her, the moonlight casting a long shadow across his form.
She flicked her long hair and said, "The Amber Gold has been placed in the cellar of Elliot Manor."
Gino didn't turn around; he was closing his eyes, sensing his own body.
A faint warmth radiated from him, the surface temperature of his skin rising. Gino, with his eyes closed, felt like he could touch an invisible, transparent membrane between his body and the air.
"I know. Take your payment and leave."
Gino had no interest in dealing with Talia; he had something more important to do.
"Wait, you seem quite interested in this guy called Batman?"
Talia didn't want to leave. She was curious why Gino had spared Batman, even giving him a bottle of Amber Gold to save the dying hero.
But Gino didn't answer her question.
The young man frowned, deep in thought.
The invisible membrane surrounding his body was something he could control, but manipulating this "Energy Shield" seemed incredibly awkward and unfamiliar.
"Perhaps, I should try a different approach?!"
Gino took a sudden step forward. This unexpected movement startled Talia, and the woman immediately shut her mouth, fearing Gino would use a despicable method to silence her again.
However, Talia realized she was overthinking it.
In her view, Gino slowly stepped onto the rooftop stairs, only a single step away from falling off the eighteen-story building below.
This stirred an indescribable excitement in Talia's eyes.
What if she rushed forward and gave him a push…
The thought took root in Talia's mind, but she quickly forced herself to calm down.
After witnessing Gino's terrifying displays so many times, Talia knew that the man before her was as mysterious as the mystical lake her father possessed.
So, after a moment's thought, the woman wisely and "cowardly" abandoned her plan to push him from behind.
She gritted her teeth, watching Gino stand at the edge of the rooftop, looking down at the concrete road below.
Gino gazed at the concrete surface below.
From high above, the cars and pedestrians looked tiny, just like when he was a child, squatting by an anthill, watching the ants' movements.
"Jumping from here... at most I'll just hurt my feet, right?"
Gino rubbed his chin, staring down at the tall buildings below.
The city lights, a kaleidoscope of color, were interwoven with occasional flashes of orange fire.
Ah, don't misunderstand. That orange fire was Gotham's nightly special: the "American Iai-Gunslinger Slash."
Taking a deep breath, Gino decided to push himself.
He spread his arms, and then, under Talia's shocked gaze, he suddenly leaped! "Whoosh!"
The corner of his clothes brushed against the rooftop as Gino vanished completely from Talia's sight.
"Is this guy crazy?"
Talia cried out in alarm and hurried to the edge to observe the situation.
"Whoosh~"
The whistling wind brushed past her face, and the dark glass of the skyscraper reflected her face.
Gino slowly closed his eyes, allowing the raging wind to buffet his body.
He focused all his attention on sensing the mysterious field around him.
"Flow, control." "Treat it as a part of myself."
Gino clumsily manipulated the invisible energy, trying to mobilize it.
"Whoosh!"
The wind in his ears howled even louder!
Gino ignored everything, still focused on channeling that mysterious energy.
He had to succeed!
"Great!"
Talia excitedly slapped the wall with both hands, the force making her hands turn red.
Although she didn't understand why Gino had jumped, from such a height, even a body of steel would be injured!
"Fall already!"
Talia clenched her teeth, her fox-like eyes filled with anticipation. She had already planned that after Gino was seriously injured from the fall, she would take all the Amber Gold and escape.
Ten meters, three meters.
When the woman saw Gino slam into the side of the concrete road, the immense force shattered the ground. The surrounding concrete road also suffered, breaking and cracking. The terrifying downward force made it seem like a cannonball had slammed into the road, kicking up a massive cloud of dust that was tinged red by the neon lights, creating an ominous atmosphere.
When the smoke cleared, all that remained was a bottomless pit.
From above, it looked like a dark, inky spot.
"Dead?"
Talia's eyes were filled with anticipation as she gazed at the bottomless pit.
One second, three seconds, ten seconds!
As time ticked by, Talia could no longer suppress her excitement. She opened her mouth and let out a hearty laugh: "Hahahaha!"
"Amber Gold is mine!"
Her face burned with the flames of ambition, a desire to emulate the Court of Owls and assemble her own assassins!
Then, overthrow Ra's al Ghul and become the leader of the League of Assassins!
"Boom!"
Another sudden explosion interrupted Talia's vision of the future.
She turned her head and looked down: "What happened?"
In the dark night, using the moonlight, Talia couldn't see Gino.
"Perhaps some kind of flammable material exploded, in this crazy city."
Talia comforted herself and sneered as she turned around.
However,
The woman found herself bumping into a solid body, as if she had run into steel.
"What!?"
Talia hadn't even reacted when an iron arm clamped around her neck.
Suffocation washed over her. Talia flipped her right hand, producing a small knife.
"If I were you, I wouldn't do that."
A familiar voice echoed, and Talia struggled to open her eyes, only to find a familiar face.
The golden hair was dirtied by dust.
His originally fair skin was also covered in dust. His expensive white short-sleeved shirt was tattered, and his shorts were ripped.
Gino was in a complete mess, but his pale blue eyes flickered with a madness that terrified Talia.
"I heard you want to steal my Amber Gold?" Gino wore a casual smile, but his iron arm was clamped tightly around Talia's neck.
Looking at the smiling young man, Talia broke out in a cold sweat. The woman didn't doubt that if she didn't give a reasonable answer, she would die here in the next second!
Talia squeezed out the words with difficulty from her throat: "Of course not, I am loyal to you. I was going to go down to check on your situation."
"Loyal?" Gino chuckled. "Meaning you're willing to do anything?"
"Y-yes."
"Very good."
Gino tossed Talia away. The woman fell to the ground in a sorry state, her black hair disheveled.
Talia was extremely frightened. She heard Gino slowly say, "In that case, kneel down, and then crawl to me to prove your loyalty."
