It's was morning already, Alexander was still awake throughout the whole night, like he was "on guard?"
After the little fight he had with Lily, nothing could make him right now fall asleep. Like they say "When you are deep-worried, falling asleep would be the last thing that could ever come to your heart at that moment".
He sat on a very-low chopped tree close to Wilson's thatched home. This time Mr. Wilson decided to come out early that morning to feed the goats. He believed he could do some exercise with it.
He noticed Alexander seated in the open, Mr. Wilson now tilted his head in disappointment due to what he noticed. Then Mr. Wilson went to him, right where he was seated to ask what the problem was.
"Had trouble sleeping?" said Mr. Wilson as he sat next to him. "Umm...i am fine, just had my head wrapped up with a lot of thoughts, that's all" said Alexander as he turned to look at Mr. Wilson who held a wooden bucket. "Come let's go feed some goats... while you tell me what's really troubling you" said Mr. Wilson as he tapped Alexander by the shoulder.
"So...what's on your mind, son?" "You know ever since you got back from that cave you have been a little off or should i say...acting strange?" said Mr. Wilson as they both fed the goats. "Yes-Yes i know i should have said more but..." said Alexander as he exhaled loudly. "There's something i must do and fast" said Alexander "Do you mind sharing?" said Mr. Wilson as Alexander gave him a swift gaze as he felt concerned. "While i was in
that cave, i met with my father..." "There is something i must retrieve" "And there are some debts i intend to collect by all means" said Alexander this time with a very serious tone. "I won't let you try to stop me now" "My mind is already made-up" Alexander concluded. "Kid, i am not trying to...stop you" "When a heart is so made-up, there's nothing anyone can do about it" said Mr. Wilson as he chuckled while he closed his eyes. "Granny Ama, yes she'd tell me everything this morning..." "She's worried for you" "We all are, Alexander" he said placing his hand on Alexander's left shoulder. "Granny Ama, she told me you want to go see the witches?" said Mr. Wilson Smiling. "As i can't talk you out of these quests, there's something i should tell you" said Mr. Wilson. "When you meet those witches they will give you a deal which you can't refuse...it might cost you a lot" said Mr. Wilson. "Are you ready to take this chance, Alex?" " Because as soon you get in, there's no turning off from it... then" said Mr. Wilson as he tries to make Alexander see reasoning that he might be making the biggest mistake of his entire life.
Mr. Wilson tries to conceive Alexander not to head-out on this quest. Like you know, when Alexander's heart is so fixed on a particular decision, so his Body and soul follows him as well.
"Umm...Mr. Wilson i'm so grateful for all the care you and your house gave me in my time of need. "I don't deserve it " said Alexander as he lowered his head in appreciation. "Yes, you are right...you don't deserve anything we gave you" Lily yelled at Alexander as she walked towards them. Lily walked faster like she had intentions to hit Alexander. Her face explained nothing but hate and disappointment.
"Whooa!" "What are you trying to do young woman" said Mr. Wilson as he grabs her from getting any more closer to Alexander. Lily kept yelling furiously which made some of the villagers come out to see what the problem was. "What is it...Lily?" "What's going on here?" "Make me understand these?" said Mr. Wilson to his daughter, Lily.
At this moment some villagers has already gathered around them when Lily's Mother broke out from the crowd while Granny Ama was also coming from behind.
Lily's eyes was fixed on Alexander the whole time not bothered if few of the villagers were watching. She didn't just care, yes she didn't just care right now. Lily was concerned on satisfying her only fierceness
"What's going on Dear?" said Lily's mother to Mr. Wilson who was her husband as she rushed in. "My love, they're both not saying anything yet, i have asked multiple times but still...nothing" said Mr. Wilson placing his palm on his face as he shook his head. Mr. Wilson was so embarrassed with his daughter's shameless display that morning. "I don't seem to just believe you right now, girl" said Lily's daughter as she tries to grab her out of the crowd's eyes. But Lily refused, Lily maintained her stance.
"Lily, leave my sight this instance before i lose it" said her father, Mr. Wilson with a very high tone. Everyone were suprised to hear him raise his voice. It's been 7 years they all last saw this act, until now...this very moment.
As Lily's mother took her daughter out of the terrific moment, Lily and Alexander's eyes met again as he saw tears rolling down her eyes.
Alexander gave her that sorry face. He watched her been dragged out of the crowd by her mother as Granny Ama stood still to watch.
Granny Ama walked closer to Alexander and whispered "...Don't worry everything would be just fine, my son" said Granny Ama as she also followed Lily and her mother.
Later then when the heat was down and everyone went for their usual and daily routine, there was Alexander now packing...
Then Lily entered the room unnoticed. " What are you doing?" said Lily as she just stood behind Alexander "Is it not that obvious i'm packing?" he said with a very serious tone, forcing his belongings into a leather bag with anger.
Alexander didn't even give Lily that attention she wanted, while she stood behind him. He obviously wanted to show her he didn't just care. Seeing that he was deliberately trying to ignore her, paying no attention to her presence. "Alex" she quietly said as she still stood behind him while he packed. "I know your mind is already made-up right now" "I know i can't talk you out of it right now, Alex" "I don't want you to go, what of if you don't come back?" she said as a tear rolled down her eye.
"Lily i just have to try... my father won't die for nothing" "His death must be avenged...and that of my people, they just died for nothing they knew of" he said turning back to look at her as she still stood behind him.
"Alex.., i want you to have this" she said, now he stood up to see what she wanted to give him. "This was given to me by my Grandmother, Granny Ama" she said as she opened her palm to reveal a straw-weaved necklace. "This handmade piece would bring you good...luck" she said as she moved closer to Alexander to wear him this. "Bring that necklace back to me" she said as their both lips locked on each other's, she kept pressing her lips on he's. Not letting go so soon, Alexander hand was now on her bum.
After a while, Alexander was now outside, it was like the whole village was waiting for him to come out of the room to say their "Goodbyes"
Mr. Wilson came out of the crowd as all gazed at Alexander. "If you would have to go on quest, you would need to take one of our fastest horses" "Take the black horse, it has never failed me" said Mr. Wilson as he walked him to the horse. "...and you will need some food supplies"
"Alex... I hope you know what you are doing?" "Cause you are about to ride into the mouth of the Devil...without no escape plans throughout." said Mr. Wilson whispering. "And if you were dead... i pray you'd die with great honour" said Mr. Wilson as he chuckled, tapping Alexander at the back a bit hard.
"I'm grateful to everyone who showed me love since from the beginning, thank you" said Alexander as he mounted on the horse's back and rod for his quest as they all waved at him, while Granny Ama and Lily still got their eyes fixed on him still he was out of their sight.
