Alexander stood at the entrance of the room that was available to use for the night. "Here's the key alright" said the bartender as she stretched out her hand to give him the key. "Have a good night, hero?"said the bartender as she chuckled, shutting the door from behind him.
The night was silent than usual, even the cold was getting worse. Alexander folded himself in bed, he covered his body with a dirty bed sheet he saw at the edge of the bed, Alexander slept away. The atmosphere felt like some strange presence was around. Alexander so fast asleep in the middle of the night. The night blow wind into his room, blowing off his candles, coming through the windows.
It was midnight, the Tavern has already closed, the wind became more disturbing, the winds kept swinging back and forth forcefully.
"Alex, Alex" the voice whispered softly. "Alexander!" same voice echoed.
"Mother!" said Alexander as he got up from the bed in shock.
The voice sounded like that of his mother. It was like his mother was calling onto him. Alexander sat in the dark, still breathing fast after the shock thinking his mother called out to him. "Mo- Mother?" "Mama is that you calling?" he said looking around when the voice called again through his window. He could see someone at the window but couldn't tell who or what it was. Then it called again and left the window. This time Alexander got up and decided to follow the voice. Now Alexander was out his room, outside of the tavern. He walked faster as the voice kept fading into the forest.
Deep, Deep in the forest he has walked...he had the voice no more. Atmosphere was filled with silence... all could be heard was the wind blowing in and out the woods.
Then Alexander heard someone crying in the forest, Alexander stopped, tracing the sound. Then he saw it was a lady who has been crying. "H-Hello!" "Are you okay?"he said, placing his hand on her shoulder, turning her to reveal her identity.
"What are you doing here, in the middle of the night?" "It's so dangerous out here to be all on your own, don't you think?"he said looking around in fright. "Come...let's get out of here"he said as he grabs her by the hand towards a direction. "No! i'm not going with you" "Take me home, my home is not far these woods" she said looking at his feet. "Please take me home- please Sir, take me home" " I need to be at home" she pleaded
"Alright...fine" he said, exhaling sharply. "Lead the way now" he said.
They have walked a very-long distance when Alexander asked her a question. "Are we there yet, Lady?"he said curiously. "Yes, we are almost there" "After we have crossed over that bridge then we are at my house" she said.
They were now in front of a hut in the middle of "Nowhere", deep in the woods. At first Alexander was frightened. Like everything didn't feel just right. "This is where i live Mister, come in " she said as she opened the door.
"Why do you have to live so far away from everything and everyone?"he said curiously still looking around anxiously. "It's our style of living" she said as she chuckled and went inside another of the rooms.
Alexander stood up to inspect his surroundings. The room he was left in was a bit dark, the candle didn't shine bright to cover the room, like there was something about this house that is making the strength of this candle light fall.
Alexander courageously decided to take the part which led to the room the Lady took. "Sisters...i brought another human" said the Lady "I will take my first bite of the meal" said the eldest Sister "I need his soul and his brains" said the other sisters.
They softly spoke about Alexander like he was some kind of domestic animal. Alexander just stood at the other side of the door... listening carefully, listening to them arguing on who would feast on him first.
Alexander tries to see the faces of the others women that were talking in that room.
"I smell the scent of blood, flesh and bones" said the Lady as she starts sniffing through the room. As one of them tries to unlock the door, Alexander ran off. On alert...they heard footsteps running off.
....Then Suddenly their was a huge thud along the scene and silence.
