Chapter 38 - Alchemy Conclusion

Max returned back to his room and placed the teapot aside and went into the bathroom to clean himself of all the dirt piled on him while he was making the alchemy device.

After a few minutes, Max emerged feeling refreshed, dressed in fresh clothes.

He then summoned the maids to bring lunch to his room since there was no one else in the castle to dine with. After all, who cares where he eats today? as Iris and Sophia both are not present to see hi eating in his room.

soon the maids brought the lunch and arranged it on the table with all the cutlery placed at their designated places.

Max discovered the food included rice, an assortment of meat dishes, and a variety of vegetable dishes that suited his taste. He guessed Iris might have instructed the chefs to prepare them before leaving the castle.

He ate with relish until he felt his stomach couldn't hold any more, then sat back in the chair, watching the maids clear the table piled with leftover food, used dishes, and plates.

Soon the maids cleared away everything and left while closing the doors for him.

Max sat there for a while without moving and close his eyes to rest for few minutes for the food o digest as he has many other arrays to practice today before evening.

In the evening, he might not have the strength to practice alchemy after the intense meditation and exercise they undergo to enhance their physical attributes.

After an hour Max woke up from the chair and went right next to the bed where there are few items which can be used to practice the alchemy he just learned.

Soon he took a small box to practice a sealing array, which would make the box open only when authenticated by the master, and a folding fan to practice generating a wind array, which has many applications.

First, he placed both items on the table, then took a bunch of magi crystals from his inventory, crushed them into a paste, and prepared another batch of alchemy paste, enough for a few practice sessions of the alchemy Max was preparing for.

He then tested with the previous way infusing magic to check if the alchemy solution is made properly.

Max quickly began examining the items he planned to use for crafting alchemy items. He first picked up a small box designed for practicing sealing arrays, which contained runes from various categories that could be combined to form the array.

The array was complex and seemed to require more time than he initially thought, so he quickly set it aside. He then picked up the folded fan and decided to draw the wind-generating array.

The wind-generating array consisted of a cooling Rune that cooled the air as the fan was shaken to produce wind.

Another Rune in the array is the vibration generation array, which enables the fan to create vibrations that produce more wind.

To prevent the fan from breaking easily, Max decided to include a sturdy and flexible array, ensuring it remains durable for long-term use.

He then began marking nodes according to the arrays he designed for both sides of the fan.

One side of the fan is designated for cooling runes and vibration runes, forming a wind generation array.

The other side is assigned to an array aimed at enhancing durability and flexibility, increasing its lifespan after repeated use.

Max first decided to make the fan durable, so he began drawing runes to strengthen it. He connected the nodes to allow the passage of magic, forming runes that were linked together to create an array covering one entire side of the fan.

After completing the array, Max swung the fan to test its durability and found the result satisfactory.

He then proceeded to draw the runes needed for the wind generation array on the other side of the folding fan.

First, Max started by drawing vibration runes on the fan poles, allowing them to pick up small vibrations to generate wind. Then, he added cooling runes on top, which captured the generated wind and cooled it, providing the user with a stream of refreshing air.

Soon the arrays on both sides have been drawn then max checked to see if he has missed any rune as a last confirmation.

Max picked up the folding fan and gently moved it up and down, causing the magic particles in the air to vibrate and create a small amount of cool air, which easily cooled the surroundings.

He tried a few more times to test its capabilities and discovered that it could lower the room temperature by a few degrees if used continuously for a few minutes.

Max then decided to make the last item of the day which is the box which was selected to engrave with sealing type array.

Generally, the sealing-type array is an advanced array that was extremely tough to learn and required an extraordinary level of skill to draw. However, a high-ranking alchemist broke it down into several pieces, making it accessible for beginners and useful up to the late stages of alchemy.

This innovation made the array popular among many, as it became an attractive option for beginners to sell boxes containing the array and earn money. This allowed them to fund their studies in other subjects and progress in their extraordinary lives.

Max began recalling every node to be drawn, as the array required most of the runes he had seen, such as the identification rune, sealing rune, and destruction rune, in case the box was opened without proper identification.

The identification rune is drawn on the top, the sealing rune is placed between the two opening parts of the box to keep it shut tightly, while the destruction rune is drawn inside the box. If the box is opened without authorization, it will destroy the contents inside.

Max slowly connected the nodes and drew the runes, which were then interconnected, completing the array. He carefully injected the magic, and the array began working, causing the box to shut tightly.
