Max who has completed the sealing box and found it was time to test whether it can seal the items safely.
Max took a piece of water beast flesh, cut it into small pieces, and packed the box full before activating its seal. He placed the box on the table beside the bed, planning to leave it out to see if the seal could preserve the meat or at least prevent the smell of spoilage if the meat ended up rotting inside.
If the box can't preserve the food because bacteria grow exponentially in the closed environment, he can simply switch the detonation rune to a freezing rune. However, he needs to check if he can install an energy rune to supply continuous power for the freezing rune to function properly.
Maybe he can consult someone knowledgeable in alchemy to learn the craft, as not everything can always be learned from books.
The first person who came to mind when alchemy was mentioned was the president of the alchemy guild. He appeared very amiable but quickly denied the possibility of teaching Max, explaining that he had too much work to spare the time. So, Max decided to ask Iris to arrange for someone to teach him the basics once she returned to the castle.
Soon, Max dusted himself off, got ready, and stepped outside for a short walk in the front garden to enjoy some evening tea, as it was time for Iris and Sophia to return.
As he was leaving the room, he turned back, grabbed the teapot and wind fan he had created, and carried them with him, eager to show them off as his proud achievements.
Max walked to the front garden and asked the maids to bring him the necessary tea leaves and cold water to make tea. Without questioning him, they silently and diligently prepared all the required materials for him.
As Max prepared to brew tea for himself, he heard the sound of laughter coming from the front gate of the castle. He glanced up to see two people walking hand in hand, their joy contagious. Max smiled, pleased to see them arriving at just the right time.
"Iris, Sophia, come over here!" Max called out to them with enthusiasm, catching their attention. They turned towards the direction of his voice and saw him seated in the garden, surrounded by a few items in front of him that seemed to glimmer from a distance.
This piqued their curiosity, and they walked toward him, watching as he added water and tea leaves into a teapot. It seemed like he was trying to make tea, but they couldn't understand how he was going to do so without a fire to boil the water.
Their doubts were soon answered as Max closed the lid of the teapot and placed a small beast core on top. This action activated the dormant alchemy array, causing the teapot to heat itself. The sound of boiling water and rising vapor confirmed Iris's guess.
"Brother is an alchemy device, but I don't remember our castle having an alchemy device that can make tea," Iris questioned.
To which Maxx proudly raised his head and said, "After you had gone shopping, I entered the library and found the book that introduces the content in it to beginners for learning."
I spent the entire morning in focused learning and attempted alchemy, but I lacked the necessary items. So, I practiced drawing alchemy arrays on a teapot and successfully created a pot that can make tea easily without the need for fire.
After hearing Max's explanation, Sophia was shocked, knowing that alchemy is a very difficult subject to learn, yet Max had grasped the basics within just a few hours.
"But I don't see you using any alchemy solution. How did you draw an array without it?" Iris asked, confused.
Max was curious of how she found he didn't use the alchemy solution and asked" how did you know i haven't used the alchemy solution" with question mark on his face.
Now Iris proudly raised her head and began taking out bottle after bottle, each containing a red liquid, and placed them on the table.
"See, these bottles are called alchemy solution bottles because they contain alchemy solution, which can only be produced using an exclusive formula. Fortunately, my island has a master alchemist who possesses the formula to create this solution. This has allowed me to earn more money from the other lords at sea, as the mainland has banned the sale of alchemy solution formulae to others. This restriction has caused the supply to fall short of demand, and I can sell the solution a little cheaper to the lords, making me the exclusive supplier of the solution in the lords' channel," Iris explained.
"No how come all the good items are with you, you even got the master alchemist which made you freeload from him." max teased iris.
Iris ignored the teasing, sighed, and lifted her head a little higher. "Who knows, maybe the goddess of luck favors me more," she said smugly to Max.
Max knew he couldn't argue with her; she was super arrogant. So, he simply swept all the bottles and placed them into his inventory.
"I will confiscate these bottles for now as punishment for acting too arrogant in front of me," Max declared.
Iris was stunned at first, then rolled her eyes at Max's greed and reluctantly accepted his actions.
Then she started to criticize him for diverting the topic and not answering her question about how he had drawn the array without the required solution.
Max simply took out a few beast cores, crushed them in front of her, added water, and prepared his handmade solution. He presented it before Iris and said, "This is my alchemy solution, made using monster cores. However, items created with this method will eventually become unstable if not done properly," he warned.
Iris observed the magic paste and initially didn't notice anything special about it, wondering how such a paste could be a solution. Then she saw someone injecting some mana into it, and the paste began to glow.
She immediately identified it as an alchemy reagent, as its characteristic feature is a peculiar glow when external magic is applied.
But she also noticed the paste evaporating with each magical amount added, unlike the alchemy solution, which remained resistant to evaporation.
So she concluded that the alchemy items made from them can only be used a few times and cost more than the alchemy solution, which is not practical.
