That night, after watching the system announcement, Max didn't bother chatting with others to find out what was happening in the region. He was too sleepy, worn out from repeatedly using his magic powers, which had taken a toll on both his mind and body.
After quietly turning off the notification sound, Max slept peacefully in his ship, with the radar active to alert him of any monsters that might come near.
Max may have slept soundly, but the system notifications kept coming. Throughout the night, the region buzzed with jubilation as various contenders upgraded their rafts to ships, and by morning, the tally had reached 100 upgrades within the region excluding Max and Sophia.
The next morning at right on 9'o' clock, the system automatically removed the Do not disturb sign and woke up everyone to make an announcement to the human survivors from the in the ocean.
*World Announcement*
"Congratulations for the region 999,999 for the first region in the world to upgrade 100 Rafts to Ships and get one ship magic cannon as reward."
"Congratulations for the region 999,999 for the first region in the world to upgrade 100 Rafts to Ships and get one ship magic cannon as reward."
"Congratulations for the region 999,999 for the first region in the world to upgrade 100 Rafts to Ships and get one ship magic cannon as reward."
The rafts which were not upgraded to ships can receive the cannon after upgrading to ship and install in his/her prioritized location.
Max Groggily woke from the sound of notification and didn't register what the system was announcing.
Only after the getting some clarity in his mind after driving away the sleep did Max register What the system has announced and jumped up from bed in excitement.
Which region is so impressive that it upgraded 100 ships in under a week after being teleported here, almost as if they anticipated the conditions and strategically planned to upgrade the ships while concentrating resources on only a handful of individuals?
Max opened the regional chat to ask about the news and see if anyone knew which region it was, but what he saw left him wondering if everyone in the region had collectively lost their minds.
All Max saw was the entire chat channel is jubilant with congratulations and laughing emojis.
"Hahaha, I'm so happy".
"Congratulations to the region 999,999".
"Hahaha congrats".
"Congratulations".
Max was confused and scrolled through all the chat records. It was only when he noticed the system notifications in the background that he realized the region awarded the magic cannon for upgrading the first 100 ships was his own. Overjoyed, Max joined the regional members, laughed wildly like a madman, and congratulated them in the chat.
Max felt a twinge of jealousy when he discovered that some regions had received a magic cannon as a reward. However, he quickly dismissed the thought, as earning it required being among the first in the world to upgrade 100 ships—a feat he doubted he could achieve. Instead, he focused his efforts on becoming the first to upgrade his ship to medium grade globally.
But now he found that the region that achieved the result was his region, so of course he was jubilant.
Max excitedly walked onto the ship's deck and discovered the magic cannon on board. It had wheels, allowing him to easily move it around the ship to attack in any direction. It also came with chains to secure it and prevent unnecessary movement.
Max found that he can aim automatically on any object he can see or know its location with the cannon and drop a beast core or input magic power to fire one single ball of fire onto the target.
Max stroked it lovingly with his hand and shifted his gaze back to the chat to ask how others had upgraded their ships so quickly. Before he went to sleep, there had only been about 10 ships upgraded collectively in the region.
Now he woke up and found there were a total of 100 ship upgraded in one night.
"Hey, guys how have the region became so rich that many members have gained resources overnight to upgrade the rafts to ships."
"Boss, you weren't active in the chat, so you might not know, but those who upgraded to ships were frantically selling their items at low prices to earn wood. They then traded the wood for iron bars. At first, they tried freeloading by offering 5 wood for 1 iron bar, but soon realized they couldn't gain much unless they increased their offers. Otherwise, you might sweep the market's iron bars in a few days, leaving them with nothing. "
"This frustrated them, and they scolded you while ret 10 wooden logs for 1 bar, competing for the remaining iron reserves. Eventually, many upgraded their rafts through trading and joined the competition to buy iron, causing resources to move across the region. As a result, the average raft level rose from 7 to 9," a kind passerby explained cheerfully.
Max who knew that drama unfolded when he was asleep felt happy as many has now started to trade and opened the trade channel and found many are racing to sell the resources for iron and wood.
Max even saw many blueprints, weapons and attribute fruits for sale.
Max excitedly saw the selling cost of the attribute fruit rates and found them priced at 10 kilograms of monster meat per fruit.
There were about 10 fruits which will increase all the attributes of the person by 1 point after consumption by any person who were below tier 2.
Max checked his storage and discovered he had at least 100 kilograms of shark meat. He decided to trade all 100 kilograms of the shark meat for the attributes fruit as he won't eat for now since shark meat isn't as tasty as octopuses' meat. Additionally, he doesn't gain any attributes from consuming the shark meat, so he reserved the octopuses' meat for his own use.
Max realized that the people selling the special fruits were those who had already eaten meat before and were seeking a new type of meat for daily consumption. They knew that no one would share food for ordinary supplies, so they sold the attribute fruit, which only gives one attribute point compared to the meat of ocean monsters that provides five. After experiencing the extraordinary, regular food became tasteless and lacked the energy their bodies needed, leaving them perpetually hungry.
So they hoped to add some extraordinary meat to satisfy their craving.
Max took out the fruits and ate them in a few minutes, gaining an additional 10 points in his attributes, which brought all his attributes to 30 and above.
