IN THE interrogation room at the Manila Police District, Abby was being interviewed by investigators.
Abby's face was pale, and her lips were dry and chapped. She had been detained for a night at the precinct, and the police were talking to her repeatedly about what had happened.
Abby couldn't understand everything. Didn't she just act in self-defense? Why did she have to go to jail for a crime she didn't mean to commit?
A man in a suit and tie soon entered the interrogation room.
"Good afternoon, Miss Del Rosario. I'm Benjamin Scott's lawyer," he introduced himself to Abby, extending his hand.
Abby hesitantly reached out to the lawyer and forced a smile.
"H-Hello, Sir."
"This is it, Miss. Del Rosario, my client, Mister Benjamin Scott, is still unconscious and there is still no hope that he will wake up. The chairperson said that I should talk to you so that I can explain the situation to you."
