Before starting the chapter I'm going to make a few things clear. First of all the system isn't god given. It's the manifestation of Dagon's knowledge that was separated when Dimitri integrated with his powers and as for why it happened, well it's obviously for the plot
( JK. Dagon zero summed).
The reason the system went into hibernation is because until Dimitri has ample enough control over his powers, it won't have a stable power source( all of its energy was used to alter the records and create a certain surprise)
The template will still function it will just lose its sentience and will only appear in his mind.

The wind roared in Dimitri's ears as they reached their destination, the new pad the system bought for him before shutting down. He already got the address from the system so he just gave the general directions to Charlie.
"You can drop me off there, Sir." Dimitri spoke respectfully when the reached his new home. And to say he was impressed was an understatement.
The house, despite being only two stories was designed to blend in with the surrounding vegetation with massive glass panels that offered a great view of the forest. From what he knew the place was only a few minutes drive away from school. Finally, his gaze landed on the garage that was built separately from the house.
In the driver's seat, Charlie was looking at the house with his mouth hanging open. Snapping out of his daze, he turned to Dimitri and gave a wry smile before speaking.
"Damn, kid. That's a nice house you got there." He shook his head as he gestured Dimitri to get out.
Dimitri quickly got out and turned to leave when he was interrupted by Charlie's voice.
"Hey kid, if you got nothing else to do...maybe we could grab dinner sometime?" Charlie gave Dimitri an expectant look.
He could use this chance to get ready for Bella's arrival and Dimitri, he felt like pleasant company. He took out a piece of paper and wrote his number down before he offered it to Dimitri. "Give me a call when you have time."
Dimitri took the paper and shoved it in to his pocket and answered. "Will do, mister swan. Take care." He waved good bye to Charlie as he sped away into the distance, a smile gracing his lips.
He then turned his attention back to the garage. He didn't even have a phone yet anyway so he focused on something far more interesting, his new ride which was no doubt created by the system before it shutdown.
Dimitri stepped towards the garage, his heart beating against his chest in excitement. He pushed open the garage doors to take a look inside, and what he saw inside almost brought tears to his eyes.
There, inside the garage, was 69 Dodge Charger R/T. The same model he'd been begging Igor to buy when he was alive. He closed his eyes and smiled. Maybe this new life wouldn't turn out too bad.
The Charger was a shade of red that was appealing to his eyes. Its windows were tinted just enough to stop the sun light from intruding too much. Dimitri walked around the car, checking every detail.
Finally his gaze landed on the plate with "FALL1N1" and he had to admit, that was nice little touch. Dimitri walked over to the driver's side door and got in with one swift motion.
The interior was as expected, sublime. The black leather seats were meticulously hand stitched without error, blending in seamlessly with the Koa wood veneers.
He took the keys from the visor and started up the monster 426 Hemi hidden under hood, which by the way improved upon by the system. Checking the house could wait. Now, now was the time to truly enjoy life.
[A/N: The car is a daedric artefact btw.]
-----
The sun was already rising by the time Dimitri returned. He entered the house feeling refreshed despite driving around all night. It'd be an embarrassment if the now daedric prince of destruction grew tired from just a few hours of driving and shopping. He'd bought himself some clothes and even new phone.
He entered the house through the front door, immersing himself in its warmth. Dimitri was genuinely happy with how things were going, considering he'd already died once. He didn't know how or why he'd been reborn and inherited Dagon's powers but he was going to make the most out of this second chance. That much he was sure of.
Dimitri took off his jacket and went to the bathroom to take a shower. He hadn't had one since well, since he died. It could help with putting his mind at ease.
Dimitri spent the rest of the day lazing around and watching TV. Just like that four days had passed until he finally decided to pick up on Charlie's offer. He dialed Charlie's number and gave him a call and agreed to meet up at the Carver Café on the same night.
[ A/N: imagine it as The Lodge if you want]
He quickly got dressed and drove towards the Café. The drive only took him a few minutes. He parked next to an old pickup truck and went inside to meet Charlie.
[This one isn't Bella's truck]
Charlie Swan was anxious. His daughter was be arriving tomorrow and he didn't know how to face her. The only thing that put his mind was that he'd be meeting with Dimitri. Maybe his perspective on the matter might help.
His thoughts were disturbed by the chime of the bell above the door. Charlies eyes scanned the entrance until his gaze landed on Dimitri who was making his way towards his table. Charlie gave him a brief nod before turning his attention to the menu.
Dimitri gently pulled up a chair and seated himself next to Charlie.
"Thanks for the meal mister Swan. You really didn't have to trouble yourself." Dimitri broke the silence.
Charlie raised his hand to stop him and gave a friendly smile. "Don't sweat it kid, it's not every day you get a new face around here. Just call me Charlie."
Just then a waitress arrived to take their orders. " What will you be having, dears?"
"I'll have stake and cobbler, miss. What about you kid?" Charlie turned to face Dimitri.
"I'll have the same as him" Dimitri answered.
"Will do honey." The waitress turned and left with a smirk tugging at her lips. Dimitri made small talk with Charlie about irrelevant matters until they inevitably arrived on the topic of his parents.
"So kid, where are your parents. I didn't see 'em last time. You live alone?" Charlie didn't want to pry too much but his curiosity got the better of him. Though he regretted it the moment those words came out.
Dimitri cast him a distant look before answering.
"I'm an orphan. Never knew who my parents were or what they did. All I have of them is a bank account under my name." He stopped briefly and let out a soft sigh.
"Honestly, I have no idea what they expected me to do with the money. From what I've heard, I wasn't even a year old when they just tossed me off at an orphanage with some documents." He stopped briefly to check on Charlie before continuing.
"At least the people at the orphanage kept the money safe, am I right?" Dimitri gave a sad smile to Charlie before looking down.
Sure, the back story sounded a little convenient but Dimitri couldn't come up with anything better and Charlie was just too nice to think otherwise.
"I — I'm sorry, son. I shouldn't have asked" Charlie said with genuine sadness that made Dimitri feel guilty about lying to the mustache man, but it had to be done. He couldn't just say he.crash landed in Forks, could he.
Dimitri shook his head and smiled. Trying his best to ease the tension.
"Don't worry, it's all in the past now. Maybe it was just meant to be."
Charlie nodded and reached out to give Dimitri a pat on the shoulder. Unknowingly, he'd come to empathize with Dimitri. He'd lost something precious when renee left with Bella all those years ago. Maybe Dimitri was just like him in some ways.
"So Charlie, you said your daughter was coming to forks tomorrow, right?" Dimitri asked seeing the opportunity to change the topic of the conversation.
"Oh, yeah. I told you about Bella last time didn't I? " Charlie wondered aloud before adding, " She's a good girl, doesn't talk much but her heart's in the right place. She used swing by every now and then but moving here, to forks, that's new for both of us."
Charlie gazed out the window with a complicated expression.
" I'm just worried she wouldn't like it here, you know, living with me—"
" You're worrying too much, Charlie." Dimitri interrupted. " She'll like it here, just like I do. Who knows, maybe it'll do her some good."
"Maybe." Charlie nodded and turned to face Dimitri with a serious expression. " You wanna come with to pick her up?"
"You just want to drive my car, don't you?" Dimitri asked jokingly. He was just messing around. There was no chance a real adult would ask him to come along just for his ride, right? or was there?
Charlie nodded, still keeping a straight face. "Yes, consider it repayment for buying you dinner." Charlie cracked a wide smile as he stood up. "Thanks kid, it's way better than taking my police cruiser."
Dimitri relented with a smile on his face. "Fine, where do we meet? I don't even know your address."
Charlie reached into his pocket and brought out a scrunched up piece of paper. "Here, this is my business card. It has my address."
Dimitri took the card and straightened it up as best as he could before taking a jab at Charlie. "You could've just told me the address you know. How long was this thing in your pocket man, it stinks."
Charlie raised his hands in mock surrender. "C'mon kid, where else could I use it. You should be honored." Charlie checked the time before adding, "It's getting late, you should probably get going. I'm going to pay the bill and go to the station."
Dimitri left the restaurant and waited for Charlie outside. Out of boredom he tried to summon the system and as expected, nothing happened. Only his progress with the integration popped up in his mind. '10.05%' that's where he was at. He'd been at 10% when he arrived and after lazing around for a few days it increased by 0.05.
He was already immortal and at least as strong as ten average males. Which was made plenty obvious when he crashed into Forks. As for the immortality thing, he just had a gut feeling. Letting out a quiet sigh, he walked over to Charlie to say his farewells.
"I'll see you in the morning, Charlie. Good night."
Charlie nodded and turned to leave when Dimitri spoke again without turning to face him.
"Hey mr. Swan, uh-thanks for buying me dinner." Dimitri's usually aloof demeanor cracked for a moment, revealing more emotion than he was willing to let on.
Charlie stayed silent for a moment before a knowing smile formed at his lips.
"Any time kid, anytime."
Charlie got in to his police cruiser without adding anymore and headed off towards the station. He still had a job to do after all.
In the parking lot Dimitri stood alone, feeling genuine happiness after long while. In his previous life, he'd truly been an orphan living in the streets before Igor took him in. Dimitri took in a breath of fresh air.
Charlie was the first real connection he made after he accidentally offed himself. This was his new reality, not just something from a movie he remembered watching years ago. These people were real, just like him.
[A/N: he only watched the first movie]
With a firm resolve to be happy, Dimitri got into his car and drove home. He wanted some sleep to clear his head. It'd be a long day tomorrow.
(End of chapter)

Sorry for the late chapter. Hopefully this will be the last time this happens. I might be able to do two chapters a week for now.
Also if you don't mind spoilers(minor ones) let me know in the comments. I have something I want to talk about.
