"You are the Matori Matrix!?"
As Ethan spoke, he glanced back at Handsome. Seeing him nod, he knew the situation had become even more troublesome.
"Using a rocket launcher... you're really not fighting fair, are you?"
"We're the bad guys. Completing the mission is our primary objective," Gōzu said, crossing his arms and smiling at Handsome. "But I never thought you'd be hiding here. We were originally just following those two idiots to see what they were up to. Who knew we'd get a pleasant surprise!"
"Hey! Who are you calling idiots!?" From behind, Jessie and James, with Meowth and their Pokémon, stumbled out of the warehouse in a panic, having heard the comment. Both looked a mess; they were drenched, and their hair was partially singed. Right behind them were Kirlia, Charmander, and Squirtle, who were chasing them frantically from the warehouse.
Jessie pointed at Gōzu and shouted, "Ah! I remember you! You're that spiky-haired glasses woman's subordinate, aren't you? How dare you follow us!"
"Spiky-haired glasses woman!?" Gōzu's face hardened. "You have a lot of guts to call Ms. Matori that."
"Cut the talk!" Jessie shouted. "This guy is our target; you can't interfere!"
"Oh? Your target?" Gōzu's gaze lingered on Ethan's mask for a long time, then he said with a sudden realization, "I see. So he's Ethan. This is great. Since both of you have gathered here, it saves us the trouble of searching. We can catch you both in one fell swoop!"
"What did you say?" James said in disbelief. "You'd dare defy the boss's orders and steal our prey!?"
"Idiot," Gōzu said, pulling out a Poké Ball and throwing it on the ground. "As long as the job is done, the boss won't care who completed the mission! Go, Aggron!"
With a flash of blue light, a massive Pokémon with three spikes on its head, a steel-like tail, and a body covered in hard armor appeared on the field. The moment Aggron appeared, it let out a thunderous roar, a deafening sound! The remaining four members of the Matori Matrix also sent out their Pokémon.
"Come on out, Toxicroak!"
"Show yourself, Purugly!"
"It's your turn, Skuntank!"
"Crush them, Rhyperior!"
As all five Pokémon appeared, they took steps to surround Ethan and Handsome.
To run or to fight?
After a moment's thought, Ethan instantly made up his mind. He held nothing back and released all his Pokémon at once. Blue lights flashed one by one. When Zapdos and Gyarados appeared, their combined aura was in no way inferior to that of the Matori Matrix.
Gyarados let out a skyward roar, its red eyes fixed on the Aggron before it!
"Zapdos!?" Handsome cried out in surprise. It wasn't just him; even Jessie and James jumped in shock. Although they had received orders to eliminate Ethan, that detestable Matori woman had never told them that Ethan had such a legendary Pokémon in his possession!
"That damned spiky-haired glasses woman! She's despicable!"
Jessie cursed. In fact, many people within Team Rocket knew that she and Matori did not get along and had disliked each other for a long time. Seeing this, James asked in a low voice, "What do we do now?"
"We absolutely cannot let those guys succeed!" Jessie said, gritting her teeth. "If they actually complete the mission, we'll be completely useless in the boss's eyes forever, and we'll never be able to hold our heads up in front of that woman!"
"Huh? You want to stop them? Isn't that a bad idea?" James hesitated. "After all, they're part of Team Rocket, just like us. If the boss finds out, he'll never forgive us."
"Idiot, who said we're going to fight them?" Meowth said cunningly. "We're just following orders. But in the process of dealing with that kid, we might accidentally affect them too!"
Jessie and James's eyes lit up. "You're a genius, Meowth! You really are the most wicked of us all!"
After reaching a consensus, the trio's figures flashed and disappeared from view.
At this moment, the numerous Pokémon on the field had already started clashing. Seeing their Trainer under attack, Kirlia, Charmander, and Squirtle no longer paid any attention to Team Rocket's trio and leaped into the battle. Gyarados charged straight at Aggron. Toxicroak engaged Ivysaur. Purugly, using its speed, constantly harassed Charmander. Skuntank attacked Jolteon. As for Rhyperior, it fought against two opponents, battling both Squirtle and Kirlia! Meanwhile, Zapdos was held in place by the guns of the five Grunts and couldn't escape for the moment.
With Haunter watching from the shadows, Ethan felt no panic at all. He calmly gave his commands. "Kirlia, you go for Toxicroak! Ivysaur, you and Squirtle team up on Rhyperior! Jolteon, stop bothering Skuntank and go after Purugly! As for Charmander, I'm counting on you to keep Skuntank busy for a bit!"
This reassignment of targets made the chaotic situation much more organized. The Pokémon's types were now either advantageous or at least not at a disadvantage against their opponents.
Ethan took a moment to observe Gyarados and Aggron. They were biting and roaring at each other. Both Pokémon were in a frenzy, and with no Trainer commanding them, their only thought was to tear their opponent to shreds! However, Gyarados had just evolved and was a bit inexperienced and naive. It was clearly at a disadvantage. If no one intervened, its defeat was only a matter of time.
Now I see why Handsome ended up in such a state. These Pokémon of the Matori Matrix are indeed too powerful for him to handle.
Just then, with a loud whistle, a freight train, billowing thick smoke, approached from a distance. Knowing this was their chance, Ethan whispered softly, "Haunter, Handsome is in your hands!"
"I understand," Haunter chuckled, emerging from Ethan's shadow and flying into Handsome's. Then, Handsome's body seemed to float upwards and flew towards the train car, landing safely on top of it.
Over there, Gōzu had been watching the situation. Seeing Handsome get onto the train, he grew anxious.
"No good! He's escaping!"
The Matori Matrix members were shocked. Just as they were about to abandon Zapdos and charge towards the train, they suddenly felt the area grow dark. A giant, Meowth-shaped robot then leaped in front of them!
Ethan is in the midst of a chaotic and dangerous battle against the Matori Matrix! With the unexpected, but welcomed, appearance of Jessie and James's Meowth robot, the Matori Matrix is now occupied. Ethan has successfully orchestrated Handsome's escape and has a plan to deal with the formidable Matori Matrix and their powerful Pokémon.
How will this chaotic battle between Ethan's team, the Matori Matrix, and Jessie and James's robot conclude? What is the significance of the Matori Matrix's presence, and what does it mean for the future of Team Rocket's operations?
