Kitazawa stood outside Kurenai Yuhi's place, pulling out his key.
Just as he was about to unlock the door, it swung open by itself.
"I knew you'd come home around this time," Kurenai said with a sly smile, poking her head out. "Pretty good guess, huh?"
She was wearing a red dress, leaning slightly behind the door. The way she moved made the dress drape with a soft, graceful curve, showing off her natural flexibility.
"Dead on," Kitazawa said, stepping forward and planting a kiss on her lips.
"Mmph—"
Kurenai instinctively straightened, wrapping her arms around him.
Kitazawa slid one hand around her back, the other… well, gave her a playful squeeze down low.
Kurenai's eyes flew open in shock, face flushed. She took half a step back and gave him a mock glare.
"You're such a perv."
Still, she couldn't help the little smile tugging at her lips—equal parts sweet and flirty.
Kitazawa took her hand and pulled her close again, easily feeling the warmth and softness of her body.
"Tsunade-sama's here, by the way," Kurenai said, lightly punching his chest. "She's waiting for you in the living room."
Hearing that, Kitazawa reluctantly let go.
He slipped off his shoes and headed inside.
…
Tsunade was sprawled out on the couch, legs stretched all the way across, her pale feet casually resting on the coffee table.
Kitazawa really wanted to tell her to take her feet down—but considering he needed her to teach him medical ninjutsu, he wisely stayed quiet.
"Shizune," Tsunade called lazily, resting her cheek in her hand.
As she shifted, her already loose neckline dipped even lower.
"Eyes up," Kurenai whispered sharply in his ear, then turned to the others. "I'm going to check on Yakumo upstairs."
In Konoha, secretly learning ninjutsu—especially medical ninjutsu—was a big no-no.
Kurenai headed to the rooftop, leaving Kitazawa behind with the two med-nin.
Honestly, he felt a bit wronged. Tsunade could act all dignified in public, but at home? Completely relaxed. He was just appreciating the view. Purely human instinct. Ahem.
"Kitazawa," Shizune called, bringing in a basin of water with a koi swimming inside.
The scene gave him instant déjà vu. This wasn't a coincidence—every med-nin started by practicing on fish. Even in the original series, Sakura had spent forever on it.
"You already read the Healing Technique scroll this morning," Shizune said. "Now it's time to actually use it. This is the most basic medical ninjutsu. If you can't get this down, it's not for you."
"If it takes more than three months, you're wasting your time," Tsunade added from the couch.
That gave Kitazawa pause.
Originally, he planned to blow them away with how fast he learned. But if he overdid it now, it'd raise suspicion later when he got to jutsu not provided by the system.
It was okay to be a genius—but not too much.
With his elite chakra control, he could convincingly fake top-tier progress. But with system-gifted jutsu, maybe he could afford to push a bit harder.
"How long did it take you to learn Healing Technique, Tsunade-sama?" Kitazawa asked casually.
"One day," she said with a grin. "But I'm a special case."
"Anyone who gets it in two days is already a prodigy," Shizune added. "It took me two and a half."
"You're amazing, Senpai," Kitazawa praised.
"Senpai?" Shizune blinked. "Aren't you older than me?"
"Experience comes first," he teased. "If I ever surpass your level, I'll call you 'kouhai' instead."
"You're funny," Shizune chuckled.
"But beating her? Keep dreaming," Tsunade said, amused. "She's trained with me for years. Her skills are nearly jōnin-level."
"Wanna bet?" Kitazawa asked with a spark in his eye.
"We're not betting on that," Shizune cut in. She knew Tsunade had awful luck with wagers and didn't want to risk it—even if she didn't think Kitazawa would actually surpass her.
Tsunade, on the other hand, looked like she wanted to bet. In her mind, this was a guaranteed win. Kitazawa was years behind—no one caught up that fast. Unless…
Well, unless he really was a monster.
"Watch carefully," Shizune said.
She cut the koi with a kunai and pressed her hands to its side, green chakra glowing. Then she explained the technique in detail.
Kitazawa nodded along, calculating in his head.
He'd match Tsunade's "one-day" pace—enough to show talent without blowing anyone's mind.
"You get it?" Shizune asked.
"Yup. Thanks, Senpai," he said, stepping up. "Let me give it a shot."
Both women leaned in.
And then—it worked.
First try. Not perfect, but clearly Healing Technique.
Shizune blinked. She'd taken half a day to get this far.
This guy... might actually be more talented than her?
No way. No way.
Even so, she was definitely shaken.
"You really do have a knack for this," Tsunade said, leaning back again. "Keep practicing."
Kitazawa was secretly relieved. Thank god the system gave him maxed-out proficiency.
…
Three hours passed like nothing.
Shizune realized she was facing her worst-case scenario: a student who didn't need instruction.
Kitazawa was just… getting it. Over and over.
She remembered struggling for hours while Tsunade nitpicked every detail.
"Alright, that's enough for today," Kurenai said, appearing at the stairs with Yakumo.
"Same time tomorrow," Tsunade said, checking the time. "Keep working on Healing Technique."
Shizune gave a quick goodbye and followed her out.
It was already past 9 p.m. The streets were quiet, the streetlights sparse—but luckily, they lived next door.
"Tsunade-sama," Shizune asked once they were inside. "What do you think of Kitazawa's talent?"
"He's better than you," Tsunade said bluntly. "If he'd just graduated from the Academy, I'd have taken him as my student."
Shizune was stunned—especially at that last part.
She knew how guarded Tsunade was about students now.
"Well, we'll see. He's not exactly young anymore. Whether he turns out great is still up in the air."
"True," Shizune admitted. "But what if he keeps this up?"
"Then yeah, I'd take him as a student," Tsunade said casually.
Cue Shizune's internal alarm. No way was she letting herself become the kouhai.
She wasn't the best of the best—but she had pride, and she definitely didn't want to be outranked by some newcomer.
Kitazawa and Kurenai walked Yakumo home.
"So? How's medical ninjutsu going?" she asked.
"Not bad," he smiled. "Tsunade says I've got talent."
"Seriously?"
Kurenai looked stunned. Medical genius at twenty-one? That sounded… off.
Real prodigies always showed signs early—whether from clans or even civilians like Minato or Sakura.
"It's true. You can ask her if you don't believe me."
"Well… that's kind of a shame," Kurenai said. "If you'd started after graduation, you'd probably be on par with Shizune by now."
She didn't compare him to Tsunade. No one did.
"It's not too late," Kitazawa shrugged.
"Good point." She giggled. "Guess my future's in your hands now."
If he kept climbing, the village would take notice. Maybe someday he'd even become something like the vice principal of the Academy.
Kurenai liked the sound of that.
Being a ninja was just a job. Most did it for money. If she could live easy and safe? All the better.
"Don't worry," Kitazawa said, stopping in his tracks. "I've got you. Just enjoy the ride."
"See you tomorrow."
Kurenai stood on tiptoe and kissed him long and deep—then turned and walked back home.
…
"Sasuke."
Kitazawa spotted him practicing Fire Style: Great Dragon Fire.
"How'd it go yesterday?"
"Pretty well," Sasuke said calmly. "Naruto and I agreed to train together after school."
Not that it had been easy.
After seeing Naruto's actual training schedule, Sasuke realized just how intense it was. He had thrown up halfway through.
He wasn't even sure he could get through today—but he had to try.
"Good," Kitazawa smiled. "Keep at it."
He could tell Sasuke wasn't being totally honest, but he respected the drive.
Physically, the Uchiha weren't as durable as the Uzumaki or Senju clans.
"Carry on."
He turned to Sakura—and was genuinely impressed.
Yep. Total medical ninjutsu prodigy.
She'd only started Healing Technique yesterday, and already she was 80% there.
By the afternoon, she'd probably have it mastered.
One and a half to two days—faster than Shizune, just behind Tsunade.
No wonder she was the original heroine.
And the faster she learned, the better for Kitazawa's mission.
As the sun dipped low, a system message appeared:
[Mission: Help Sakura learn her first medical ninjutsu.]
[Reward: Delicate Illness Extraction Technique.]
[Mission Complete. Reward Granted.]
Kitazawa couldn't help smiling. He'd been waiting all day.
His first B-rank medical jutsu—finally. It was tough, usually used for poison extraction, and often paired with antidotes.
Too bad he still didn't know how to make or remove poisons yet.
"Ugh! I lost again!" Ino groaned.
"Congrats—double homework tonight," Sakura teased with a smirk.
"Not fair!" Ino grumbled. But deep down, she was shocked.
She'd always assumed she had the upper hand as a clan kid.
But Sakura's chakra control and medical ninjutsu had changed the game.
Now she was the one falling behind.
"Ino," Kitazawa said gently, "your Mind Body Switch is coming along fast. You'll probably master it in a couple days."
"Hmph!" Ino pouted. "My jutsu's way more complicated than Healing Technique!"
"And I'm gonna learn something even harder," Sakura declared proudly, hands on her hips.
Kitazawa looked at the two of them—equal parts rivals and best frenemies—and couldn't help but laugh.
