Chapter 99 - Chapter 99: Sasuke Training with Guy

"Class is over."

Kitazawa smiled. "See you all tomorrow."

"Bye, Kitazawa-sensei!"

After exchanging goodbyes, the students from both classes quickly left the room.

Even though it was the first time the classes had been combined, everyone thought it was a cool experience.

Well—everyone except Sasuke Uchiha.

He'd been sulking the entire period after losing to Neji Hyuga, looking like the world owed him millions.

"Sasuke."

Kitazawa called out to him. "Neji's a year older and he's already awakened the Byakugan. It's totally normal that you lost."

"…But…"

Sasuke opened his mouth, then stopped himself.

He knew it made sense—but he just couldn't accept it.

He was an Uchiha, after all.

A proud one.

If word got out that he lost to Neji Hyuga, he'd be humiliated.

And the worst part? Seeing that disappointed look in his father's eyes.

"Did you ever think about why you lost?" Kitazawa asked, looking right at him.

Sasuke froze.

Truth be told… he hadn't.

Since the sparring match, he'd been obsessing over two things: learning stronger fire jutsu and figuring out why his Sharingan still hadn't awakened.

Kitazawa caught the look on his face and smirked slightly.

Yep. Classic Sasuke—never learns unless it hurts.

Why was he nicknamed "Sunny Sasuke" again?

Because every time he got stronger in the original story, he'd go charging off like a hero—and get beat down hard.

Best example? After unlocking his Mangekyō Sharingan.

He tried to capture the Eight‑Tails. Then he stormed the Five Kage Summit.

Both times—near disasters.

If Itachi hadn't bailed him out, he'd have gone blind in record time.

"It's because of his Byakugan," Sasuke finally said after a pause. "It made my shuriken control useless."

"And?" Kitazawa nodded.

Sasuke frowned, thinking hard.

"…His taijutsu's stronger than mine!" he said, eyes lighting up as he raised a finger. "If he gets in close, I'm done for."

Then his face fell again.

The Uchiha were known for Sharingan and genjutsu. The Hyuga were known for Byakugan and Gentle Fist.

Trying to outfight Neji in taijutsu was a losing battle—it was practically his specialty.

"If I had my Sharingan, I'd definitely beat him."

Sasuke clenched his fists.

With the Sharingan, he could see Neji's movements ahead of time and react.

Without it? He couldn't keep up.

During that final combo in their spar, he could barely follow the strikes.

"Don't just rely on the Sharingan," Kitazawa said, shaking his head. "You've got your own strengths."

"You mean… Fire Style?" Sasuke thought about it.

Yeah, fire jutsu was the only thing he had that could really pressure Neji.

But he wasn't nearly skilled enough to use it smoothly like Kitazawa.

And Neji's Byakugan let him dodge it pretty easily.

"Exactly. Fire Style is your edge," Kitazawa smiled. "If you can land a hit, you can win."

"But I can't hit him," Sasuke said, frustrated. "Unless I awaken my eyes…"

Kitazawa couldn't help but laugh.

Man, this kid never shuts up about the Sharingan.

The whole Uchiha clan had a serious dependence on it—but fair enough. It was busted.

"Forget the whole eye thing for now." Kitazawa patted his shoulder. "We've talked through all this—so what's your next step?"

"…Huh?" Sasuke blinked.

"You really hate thinking, don't you?" Kitazawa sighed. "Just keep working on your Fire Style and level up your taijutsu."

"That's it?" Sasuke looked a little surprised.

"Gentle Fist is strong, sure—but Neji's only a year older than you. He's not invincible," Kitazawa explained.

"You don't need to master taijutsu. If you can match him for even a moment, that's your opening to strike with fire."

What Kitazawa really had in mind was Lightning Style.

It was way faster, and Sasuke had a natural gift for it. In the original series, his Lightning Style was even better than his Fire Style.

Too bad Kitazawa didn't know any lightning jutsu.

But others did—like Kakashi, who invented Chidori.

Of course, without the Sharingan, Sasuke couldn't even learn it yet.

"I got it!"

Sasuke's eyes lit up with excitement. "Kitazawa-sensei, can you teach me taijutsu?"

"You should train with Naruto," Kitazawa suggested.

"Absolutely not!" Sasuke shook his head fast. "There's no way I'm wearing that ridiculous green jumpsuit!"

"You're just training with them, not becoming one," Kitazawa laughed.

It was rare to see Sasuke this against anything.

"Really?" Sasuke asked skeptically.

"Why would I lie to you?" Kitazawa shrugged.

He wasn't wrong—Neji and Tenten also trained under Might Guy in the original story and never wore the outfit.

"So I should just go ask them? You think they'll let me join?"

"They will," Kitazawa said after a pause. "Even if you don't pick up taijutsu, just doing their training will make you stronger."

Guy's training was legendary—brutal, exhausting, and absolutely effective.

It would build up Sasuke's strength, speed, reflexes—and boost his chakra capacity.

"That good?" Sasuke sounded skeptical.

But then he thought about how fast Naruto had been improving—and started to believe it.

"You won't know until you try," Kitazawa smiled.

"Alright."

Sasuke took a deep breath. "I'll go talk to them now."

Kitazawa watched him walk away, then had a thought:

If Sasuke actually did wear that green bodysuit in public… would the humiliation be enough to trigger his Sharingan?

With Sasuke's pride? Probably double.

Everyone knew the Sharingan activated under intense emotion.

Usually it was negative—but technically, any strong emotional stimulus could do it.

Judging from Sasuke's reaction earlier… yeah. It might just work.

[As the Class 1-A rep, you don't just need to beat the strongest student in another class.]

[Current Mission: Help Sasuke Uchiha defeat Neji Hyuga.]

[Reward: One-Tomoe Sharingan.]

[Accept?]

Kitazawa glanced at the system prompt and muttered, "Oh boy."

First the Byakugan, now this?

If this ever leaked, the Uchiha and Hyuga clans would both be out for blood trying to figure out who messed with the bloodline first.

Still, this wasn't going to be easy.

Byakugan + Gentle Fist was way too dominant in the early game.

Even with his help, Sasuke beating Neji would be tough.

Unless Sasuke mastered the Eight Gates (which was… very unlikely), regular taijutsu wouldn't work.

The only real shot was landing a solid Fire Style hit—and that was kind of a long shot.

Kitazawa scratched his chin.

Looks like they really do need Sasuke to awaken his Sharingan.

With it, he could at least offset the Byakugan's edge—and make Fire Style more viable.

And don't forget—there was another quest to have Naruto defeat Sasuke.

Two quests, same trigger. Easier chance to awaken those eyes.

Worst case? Kitazawa had a backup plan: Yakumo Kurama.

Hyper-realistic genjutsu could shake the mind enough to blur reality.

In the original, Itachi used illusions of the Uchiha massacre over and over to push Sasuke to awaken.

Kitazawa shook off the thought for now.

He had more important things to do—like continuing his medical ninjutsu lessons with Tsunade.

Sasuke quickly found Naruto.

It wasn't hard—three guys in neon green jumpsuits stuck out like traffic cones.

Seeing Guy, Lee, and Naruto screaming about "youth" with terrifying enthusiasm, Sasuke winced.

If anyone saw this… he'd never live it down.

The Uchiha name might not survive this.

Luckily, the suit wasn't mandatory.

"Sasuke?"

Naruto, who'd been sprinting upside down, flipped forward and landed.

"Oh wow, it is you. What's up?"

"I want to train with you."

Sasuke took a deep breath and said it straight.

"Huh?" Naruto's eyes went wide.

"I—can't?" Sasuke hesitated, confused.

"Sasuke, you've embraced the Way of Youth!"

Naruto grinned and gave him a flashy thumbs-up. "Let's burn with passion together!"

"I'm just here to train, okay?!"

Sasuke's face darkened in pure frustration.

"Welcome aboard!" Lee shouted, running over. "Training is youth! And youth is training!"

"Wait—even an Uchiha believes in our youth?!"

Might Guy rushed over, eyes streaming tears. "This is amazing! I can feel the flames of youth blazing even brighter!"

"…I—"

Sasuke had never felt so mentally broken.

"Here! I've got a spare outfit!"

Guy held out a green bodysuit. "Do you—"

"I'm not wearing that!"

Sasuke shot his hands up immediately. "I'm just here to train!"

"…Alright."

Guy looked a little sad, but nodded.

He might've been eccentric, but at least he didn't force anyone.
