"You're not ready for it yet."
Kitazawa shook his head and said seriously, "Medical ninjutsu needs to be learned step by step. No rushing."
Haruno Sakura was clearly talented, but she was still young, and her foundation wasn't anywhere near the level she had in the original storyline.
Trying to jump straight into advanced techniques? Not happening.
"Yes, Kitazawa-sensei,"
Sakura said, holding back her excitement.
"Then you definitely won't be able to catch up to me!"
Yamanaka Ino clung to Kitazawa's arm, popped her head out, and pulled a smug face at Sakura.
"Hmph. So immature."
Sakura rolled her eyes at the silly expression.
"Alright, training's over for today. Head home and rest early."
Kitazawa reached out and gave Ino a pat on the head.
"Kitazawa-sensei," Sakura asked eagerly, "what medical ninjutsu will I be learning tomorrow?"
"You…"
Kitazawa had just started to answer when a system notification popped up in front of him:
[You and Haruno Sakura are both medical ninjutsu prodigies. Time to see who's better.]
[Task: Master a medical ninjutsu faster than Haruno Sakura.]
[Reward: Proficient-tier Yang chakra nature transformation.]
[Accept?]
Kitazawa's eyes lit up.
In theory, once you mastered both chakra shape transformation and chakra nature transformation, you could learn just about any jutsu.
He already had expert-level chakra shape transformation, but he'd been missing chakra nature transformation—until now.
Even if it wasn't a full elemental spectrum, Yang Release was a huge step forward.
The system broke mastery into three levels: Basic, Proficient, and Master.
Proficient-level Yang chakra? That's around Shizune's level.
Master-level Yang chakra? Tsunade territory.
Kitazawa was already considered a prodigy because of his shape transformation. With this, he was a straight-up supercharged medical ninjutsu genius.
No need to fake it anymore—he was the real deal.
"It's a surprise. You'll find out tomorrow."
He grinned.
"Eh?"
Sakura blinked in confusion.
Now she definitely wasn't sleeping tonight.
Ino saw this and couldn't hide her glee.
Dragging Sakura away, she called back, "Thanks, Kitazawa-sensei!"
Kitazawa chuckled.
He wasn't trying to help Ino get revenge—he was just tweaking the difficulty level for Tsunade's second lesson.
His actual goal? Beat Sakura to complete the quest.
Missing out on that Proficient Yang transformation? That'd have him up at midnight screaming, "I'm such an idiot!"
…
As usual, Tsunade and Shizune were already there waiting.
Surprisingly, Tsunade had been super punctual the last couple of days—way different from her usual late self.
Gotta admit, when it came to medical ninjutsu, she still had some professional standards.
Too bad she kept pawning the actual teaching off to Shizune.
"Kitazawa," Shizune said, pulling out the same fish from yesterday, "did you practice during the day?"
"I squeezed in about three hours."
"Then you better step it up."
She smiled. "Two days will be over before you know it."
"I won't need two. I'll learn Healing Technique tonight," Kitazawa said confidently.
"For real? Yeah, I'm not buying it," Shizune replied.
He'd only trained six hours total so far—three yesterday, three today.
"Shizune-nee, just wait and see."
He put extra emphasis on the word "-nee."
"Oh, it's on."
Shizune smirked. Even someone as chill as her couldn't ignore that kind of provocation.
Kitazawa got to work, hands out, focusing on the Healing Technique.
Shizune stood by to "guide" him—though honestly, there wasn't much to guide.
After a while, she realized with growing unease that his technique was practically flawless already.
Two hours later, under a faint green glow, the carp's wounds completely healed, and it started flipping around, full of life again.
A straight-up medical miracle.
Normally, a carp without water would only last 3–5 hours.
But with healing ninjutsu, it could survive a whole day.
"You… seriously learned it already?"
Shizune stared at him, stunned.
"Only took eight hours?"
Tsunade sat up, her face suddenly serious.
That was her time too.
In other words, Kitazawa's talent wasn't any lower than hers.
"I owe it all to Shizune-nee's guidance," Kitazawa said with a cheeky smile.
"…"
Shizune's smile froze.
Did she even help? Yeah… a little.
But mostly? No.
Freakin' genius.
Geniuses are cool and all, but being their teacher is so unrewarding.
"Keep teaching him," Tsunade said, arms crossed.
She wanted to see if this guy was actually the real deal.
"Okay," Shizune replied after thinking for a bit. "The next technique is Anesthesia Jutsu."
She quickly formed some seals, placed her hands on the struggling fish, and—boom—it stopped moving and fell into a deep sleep.
"Anesthesia is a D-rank jutsu. The hard part is controlling the area of effect."
Kitazawa immediately got the idea—it was basically like full-body vs. local anesthesia from his past life.
The system hadn't given him this one, so he had to learn it manually.
An hour passed, and he still hadn't quite nailed it.
Shizune let out a breath of relief.
At least this one wasn't instant mastery—it made him look a little more human.
Still faster than her, though… just barely.
Shizune could feel her confidence taking a hit.
She'd always thought of herself as a medical prodigy. After all, she studied under Tsunade.
Then this guy came along…
Tsunade massaged her temples.
This was not part of the plan.
She'd come to Konoha to make some money—and now this random genius shows up?
She wasn't even sure how long she could stay in the village now.
Oh well. Wherever there's a casino, that's home.
First, though, she needed to finish developing Kurama Yakumo's fourth sealing jutsu.
As a village elder, she had access to all techniques related to memory sealing.
After a ton of back and forth, the new jutsu was almost ready. If everything went smoothly, she'd finish it by the end of the week.
…
After Tsunade and Shizune left, Kitazawa spent a little quality time with Kurenai, then went home.
Lately, his days had been packed—teaching during the day, developing jutsu at night—so his general store hadn't opened in ages.
Thankfully, his ninja academy salary and Hinata's allowance were more than enough.
He took a shower and knocked out for the night.
…
First thing in the morning, Sarutobi Hisao called him into the vice principal's office.
"Nothing major—just letting you know, final exams are set for July 29," he said bluntly. "Since you're the new academic director, you're running the show."
"Got it, Principal."
Kitazawa nodded.
He'd actually been waiting for this—one of his quests required him to take first place.
He just needed an excuse to join the combat portion.
"Kitazawa-sensei!"
Sakura ran up, bursting with energy. "What am I learning today?"
"D-rank medical ninjutsu: Blood Coagulation Technique."
He'd already made that call yesterday while practicing anesthesia.
Same level—D-rank—so technically a fair matchup.
Technically.
Truthfully, Sakura was still really young.
Didn't matter though—according to the system, they were the same age anyway.
"Since we're practicing Blood Coagulation today, we're not using a carp. You'll be working with a rooster."
Kitazawa paused. "Give it a few minutes—my shadow clone's out buying one now."
Ino's face twitched.
Controlling a rooster was way harder than a fish. If things went bad, she was gonna have double the homework again.
"Shikamaru," Kitazawa suddenly said, "don't forget—combat training at noon."
"Yes, sensei…"
Shikamaru sighed. Looked like another day of getting destroyed both mentally and physically.
Soon enough, the shadow clone came back, rooster in hand.
Just like yesterday, Kitazawa demonstrated the technique, explained the details, then let Sakura practice.
Once she got the basics down, he left a clone to supervise and went off to work on Anesthesia Technique.
He was confident in his win—but still, better safe than sorry.
Kitazawa made short work of Naruto and Shikamaru.
Even when Shikamaru tried to sneak in a Shadow Imitation sneak attack, Kitazawa was too experienced—he countered it like a pro and left him completely shattered.
After training, Shikamaru started practicing Yin chakra nature transformation, fueled by spite.
Kitazawa, meanwhile, returned to his office in high spirits and continued practicing anesthesia.
…
[Task complete: You mastered a medical ninjutsu faster than Haruno Sakura.]
[Reward unlocked: Proficient-level Yang chakra nature transformation.]
Kitazawa exhaled deeply.
A rush of knowledge flooded his brain. He felt unbelievably strong.
With Yang chakra nature transformation under his belt, starting today…
He really was a medical ninjutsu genius.
