This is a general glossary of locations, events, and terms that I will be using over the course of the story. I'll be updating it as I go along, and I'll be mindful to not spoil anything within them.
Locations (Continents)
Obertas: The land of the west, comprised of three major nations.
Yu'La: The land of eternal winter directly north of Obertas.
Archidaemia: The island continent across the ocean east of Obertas and the land of sylvians (elves). Over three quarters of the island is untouched by civilization as it is demon territory.
Al-Freyjanova: The northern island of dragons shrouded in magic that cannot be discovered by mortal means.
Locations (Nations of Obertas)
Vectis Empire: The first major nations of the western continent, serving as the primary setting for this story.
Zekt Empire: The second major nation of the western continent that is constantly at odds with Vectis.
Alcad: The third major major nation of the western continent, known for its desert lands and the seas of sand.
Gran Sophia: The Holy Empire, a smaller nation but holds as much power as the other three major nations due to their association with the church.
Wyrheim: The realm of demons, referring to the nation as a whole. It borders all three of the major nations right at the intersection.
Locations (Specified)
Rhodeia College: The pride of the Vectis Empire, an institution seeking to nurture the heroes of the next generation. Swordsmen or mages, nobles or commoners, all are welcomed so long as they have the skills to prove they belong.
Pearlutia Institute: An all-women's college stationed in the Zekt Empire. It inadvertently became the one of the most reputable institutions in the west, boasting an impressive record of swordsmen and mages who would go on to become notable names in history.
Arcana Spire: The premiere institution for mages, prideful and knowledgeable in the field of magic. They are based in Gran Sophia's territory, but they do not align with any of the nations.
Vellum: The capital of Wyrheim, a city where many of the intelligent demon tribes mingle under the flag of the Ego of Strife.
Historical Events
The Shaduwar: For 3 years total, the Vectis Empire initiated a war against Wyrheim, pitting them against the Ego of Strife, Archdemon Arkus de Vellum. The war ended 5 years before the beginning of the story.
The Great Crusade: A war spanning for 4 years in which the Holy Empire, Gran Sophia, marched through Wyrheim, pushing toward Vellum in an attempt to slay the former Ego of Strife, Archdemon Kaides de Vellum. The war ended 22 years before the beginning of the story.
Terminology
Sword Saint: Refers to swordsmen who have reached the pinnacle of swordsmanship and are able to use aura blade.
Aura Blade: Heightened senses allows swordsmen to infuse mana into their swords rather than their bodies.
Grand Master: Refers to mages who have reached at least the Sixth Circle.
Magic Circles: Rune circles comprised entirely of mana. Every circle after the first takes two times more focus, efficiency, and mana capacity. Mages use this as a test to determine their levels. I.E, if a mage can maintain six magic circles, their mana capacity is 16 times the amount of a First Circle Mage. Currently, only the Sixth Circle has been breached.
The Nine Lords of Angelica: Heroes of old who followed Empress Sellas D'Angelica in the final push against Archdemon Kaides. Their identities were left unknown since they operated in secrecy. The only known survivor, if anymore at all, is Archeota Lancinox, a now-professor at Rhodeia College.
Ego of Strife: A force of nature pertaining to the concept of everlasting strife. Where there is peace, strife will always follow.
The Malevolence: Apostles of the Ego of Strife, filling the seats of commanders for the demon legion.
