Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 – A Sword With No Shadow

---

🌌 Previously...

Kael Draven, the Nullblood Sovereign, awakened a glitched system outside the control of gods, fate, or aura.

He defeated the Level-42 executioner Goremaw while still Level 0.

Now at Level 1, his Sovereign Core begins unlocking forbidden traits.

He enters Dusthold, a lawless border town.

An informant named Veyna takes interest, suspecting Kael isn't from this world — or even this timeline.

The gods begin execution protocols: Kill the anomaly before it spreads.

Now, the world tightens.

Kael?

He sharpens his mind.

🧠 Scene 1 – Upgrade in the Shadows

In the back chamber of a ruin-stained inn, Kael stood before a broken mirror.

Not to admire himself — but to test a theory.

> [Sovereign Point: 1]

[System Prompt: "Spend to awaken Passive or Unlock System Function?"]

Kael chose:

> "Function: Skillforge – Sovereign Path"

> [Confirmed. Sovereign Forge unlocked.]

Description: Allows creation of custom skills based on concepts, memories, or raw emotion. No aura or class restrictions.

Limit: One skill per Level unless additional points spent.

The forge UI burned into his mind like code stitched across stars.

[Create New Skill]

> Input: Emotion/Memory/Concept

Tier: ???

Energy Cost: Depends on instability

Kael closed his eyes.

He thought of silence. Of being ignored. Of walking through fire while others stood in light.

He thought of being unseen — not invisible, but unnoticed, like death in disguise.

And whispered:

> "I am the blade that fate overlooks."

---

⚔️ Skill Created: "No-Shadow Edge"

> Type: Cognitive Stealth Blade

Effect: Manifest a semi-real weapon that cannot be sensed by aura, detection spells, or prophecy-based combat precognition.

Bonus: +20% critical chance against those stronger than the user

Limitation: Can only be used while alone or in full shadow

Kael opened his hand.

A blade of pure stillness formed. It reflected nothing. Not even light.

> "Let them look.

Let them scan.

They won't see the knife in their own throat."

---

🏙️ Scene 2 – First Contract

Veyna returned that night.

She dropped a parchment on his table, stained with blood and sigil-locked with silver thread.

> "Someone in Dusthold offered ten silver marks to anyone who can kill a 'nameless outlander with no aura.' Sounds familiar?"

Kael glanced at it.

He didn't flinch.

> "Let them come."

But Veyna leaned in.

> "This isn't local. The bounty came from inside the Crest Guilds. That means the gods have moved a contract."

Kael's eye twitched.

Crest Guilds weren't bounty hunters. They were state-funded. Temple-blessed. War-trained.

> "The contract name is… 'Ghostroot Protocol.' Ever heard of that?"

He had.

Back on Earth, it meant a total wipeout command — no trace left.

> "They want you erased so hard you never existed."

---

🐍 Scene 3 – The Assassin From the Sky

Night.

Rain.

Dusthold slept.

But Kael did not.

He waited. In shadow. Barefoot. Eyes open.

His thoughts humming with logic and threat patterns.

Then — a flicker.

A cloaked man landed silently on the balcony. His breath didn't fog. His body made no sound.

Kael whispered, "Guild?"

> "Shadow-14. Crest Class. Ghostroot. Apologies."

And the man rushed him — aura-cloaked blade shimmering with curse script.

Kael didn't move.

The blade swung. Passed through air. Hit only shadow.

> [No-Shadow Edge Activated]

Cloaked

Invisible to aura sense

> Critical Window: 3 seconds

Kael reappeared behind him.

His own edge — unseen — whispered through the man's spine.

The assassin gasped.

And fell.

No scream. No blood.

Just... silence.

💀 Scene 4 – The Aftermath and Message to the Gods

Kael picked up the corpse's crest badge.

It shimmered — linked directly to the Guild's divine terminal.

> [Tampering Detected – Would you like to send a response?]

Yes.

Kael leaned in.

And whispered:

> "You sent a shadow to kill me.

So I became one."

"Next time, send a god."

Then crushed the crest under his heel.

Far away, in the inner sanctum of a holy guild-city, six Guild Elders received the transmission.

One of them — blindfolded and ancient — simply said:

> "The Sovereign lives. And he has begun to bite back."
