Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 – The Academy That Trains Gods

---

🌌 Previously...

Kael Draven unlocked the Echo Chamber, stored his first alternate form: Final Aarav — a fireproof, logic-enhanced battle echo.

He defeated Vaelis, the dream-assassin sent by the divine Crest Guilds.

The gods have failed three times to erase him.

The world no longer ignores him — it whispers, it fears.

Now, Kael enters the first true stage of the world — a place where heroes are forged…

…and Sovereigns break the mold.

---

🏰 Scene 1 – The Invitation That Shouldn't Exist

Two days later. The northern road.

Kael walked alone, the broken crown sigil now stitched into his cloak's underside.

Then came the impossible:

> [SYSTEM INTERRUPTION]

You are being contacted by: Grandmaster Sira Valen, Headmistress of Sanctum Arcanis – World's Highest Academy of Magic & Combat.

> "To the one who walks without class,

The gods have failed to burn you.

I want to see if knowledge can do what fear could not.

Come. Enroll. Or destroy us."

A letter materialized in flame:

An invitation sealed with triple-forged arcane authority.

Sanctum Arcanis — where heirs of emperors studied beside demigods.

Kael smirked.

> "You want to teach me?

Fine. I'll burn your textbooks with truth."

---

🛡️ Scene 2 – Arrival at Sanctum Arcanis

Massive floating islands. Towers of blue steel and radiant crystal.

The Sky Fortress Campus that never touched mortal ground.

Kael arrived in a black caravan pulled by wind-horses — surrounded by silence. No banners. No fanfare.

But every eye turned when he passed.

Because…

He was an error in paradise.

🎓 Scene 3 – Meet the Elites

First day.

A hall of thousands — all ranks, bloodlines, and gods blessed.

Kael walked alone through them like oil through water.

Then came House Serenthos — Royal-blooded combat champions.

A blond noble stepped forward. Erian Val Serenthos, Level 29, Sword Saint Inheritor.

> "They let you in? You don't even have mana."

Kael looked him in the eye.

Unblinking.

> "And yet here you are — speaking second."

The insult stunned the crowd.

Erian's face darkened.

> "You're not a student. You're a trespass."

Kael smiled coldly.

> "Good. I hope I never graduate."

---

🌀 Scene 4 – Trial of Entry: The Arena of Ascent

Newcomers must pass the Trial of Ascension — a public duel evaluated by staff, nobles, and even divine avatars.

Kael was told to decline.

They said: "You're not ranked."

They warned: "If you die, you'll be erased even from records."

He stepped into the arena anyway.

Opponent: Kyra Siltborn – Rank-2 Elementalist, Wind-Fire Hybrid.

She was graceful, brutal, trained in arcane rhythm strikes.

> "I don't want to hurt you," she said.

Kael drew No-Shadow Edge.

> "That makes two of us."

---

⚔️ Scene 5 – The Fight That Wasn't Fair (For Her)

The match began.

Kyra launched a Flare Spiral Kick, surrounded by rotating fire-wind sigils.

A move known to cripple most first-years.

Kael vanished.

Reappeared at her side — in shadow, unseen.

> [Cognitive Edge Activated]

[Thought Timing: +20%]

[Critical Window: Opened]

SLICE.

Her wand-arm dropped her weapon.

She turned in pain — but Kael stepped back, untouched.

> "You rely on magic.

I rely on nothing."

> "That's why I win."

She collapsed. Not mortally wounded — but shattered.

The arena was silent.

---

🏅 Scene 6 – The Verdict

Headmistress Sira Valen stood and raised a single hand.

> "Kael Draven.

Nullblood.

Sovereign anomaly."

She looked across the silent academy.

> "You pass.

Let this be a warning — not all power glows.

Some of it waits in the dark and chooses when to strike."

Kael simply walked off the stage.

And whispered:

> "Lesson one:

You should've kept your gates closed."
