Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Class and Skills II

The system accepted my command without question.

I leaned back, tapping my chin. Hmm… what should I do next? Right—first things first, I'll just list the skills for now. I won't actually create them until I'm swimming in Points. No need to drain myself dry this early.

I'll set them to exist in the system as inactive placeholders, ready to be activated later.

With a snap of my fingers, a book and pen appeared in front of me—one of the inborn abilities of all gods, and quite a handy one at that. After this, I should also check my own skills, especially those common to all gods.

Now, the skills I'm about to jot down will be available to all system users, regardless of Class.

Light Spell – Creates a hovering orb of light to illuminate dark areas. Lasts 5 minutes. (Cost: 2 mana)

Water Ball – Launches a small sphere of water to strike enemies or extinguish flames. (Cost: 4 mana)

Spark – Releases a quick electrical discharge, shocking enemies at close range. (Cost: 3 mana)

Tracking – Reveals and follows the target's footprints or magical trail for up to 30 minutes. (Cost: 5 mana)

Quick Step – Enhances movement speed briefly, ideal for dodging or closing distances. (Cost: 6 mana)

Frost Touch – Freezes a target on contact, slowing movement and attack speed. (Cost: 7 mana)

Lie Detection – Allows the user to sense if a person is lying, based on fluctuations in their aura. (Cost: 8 mana)

Illusion Flicker – Creates a brief, illusory double of the user to mislead enemies. (Cost: 10 mana)

Stone Grip – Strengthens the hands, increasing grip force and allowing the user to cling to walls or hold weapons with unshakable stability. (Cost: 5 mana)

Gust Step – Uses compressed air to boost movement in a single direction, useful for sudden dodges or jumps. (Cost: 6 mana)

Form now, these ten will do. Later, I'll study the magic and sword techniques of this world to either merge them into new hybrid abilities or create entirely original ones.

I smirked to myself. Yes… that will be fun.

Now then… let's move on to Class creation.

Aside from the custom Class I'm making, I also intend to design five basic Classes for the general public—those who can access my system but have not earned my personal favor. The custom Class, however, is reserved only for those I deem worthy of becoming my potential Apostles.

That's right—gods can choose Apostles from among humans. These chosen few gain the right to wield Divine Magic, granted directly by their god. The god alone decides how much divine power they receive, and whether it flows as a steady stream or a single overwhelming burst.

As for me… I have zero Apostles right now. But that could change in the near future—especially with Leon and Leah. They are my first prospects, the seedlings I will nurture.

In this world, there's no such thing as Class—people simply pick up skills as they go along. By creating these five basic Classes, I'm basically becoming the very first Class Creator here. Heheh, I like the sound of that. Maybe I should start calling myself The Originator or The Divine Game Designer.

Here are the five Classes I'll introduce to the system:

1. Warrior

The front-line fighter who excels in close combat, heavy armor, and raw strength. Warriors are tough, resilient, and the first to charge into battle.

Basic Skills:

Slash – A powerful sword strike that deals moderate damage. (Cost: 5 aura)

Shield Block – Raises a shield to block incoming attacks, reducing damage. (Cost: 4 aura)

Battle Cry – Boosts the morale of nearby allies, increasing their attack power. (Cost: 6 aura)

Charge – Rushes forward to knock down an enemy. (Cost: 7 aura)

Endure – Temporarily increases defense and resistance to crowd control effects. (Cost: 5 aura)

2. Mage

Masters of elemental magic who attack from a distance and control the battlefield with spells. They have high magic power but low physical defense.

Basic Skills:

Fireball – Shoots a ball of fire that explodes on impact. (Cost: 8 mana)

Ice Spike – Launches a shard of ice that slows enemies. (Cost: 7 mana)

Arcane Shield – Creates a magical barrier that absorbs damage. (Cost: 10 mana)

Lightning Bolt – Strikes a single target with lightning. (Cost: 9 mana)

Mana Surge – Restores a small amount of mana over time. (Cost: Passive)

3. Ranger

Experts in ranged combat and survival, Rangers use bows or crossbows and can move quickly and stealthily.

Basic Skills:

Piercing Arrow – Fires an arrow that ignores some armor. (Cost: 6 aura)

Camouflage – Blends into surroundings, reducing detection. (Cost: 5 aura)

Trap Setting – Places traps that immobilize or damage enemies. (Cost: 7 aura)

Eagle Eye – Enhances vision to detect hidden targets. (Cost: 5 aura)

Quick Retreat – Moves backward rapidly to escape danger. (Cost: 6 aura)

4. Rogue

Sneaky and agile, Rogues specialize in stealth, quick attacks, and critical strikes. They excel at disrupting enemies and avoiding damage.

Basic Skills:

Backstab – Deals high damage when attacking from behind. (Cost: 5 aura)

Smoke Bomb – Creates a cloud that obscures vision and allows escape. (Cost: 6 aura)

Poisoned Blade – Applies poison to weapons, dealing damage over time. (Cost: 7 aura)

Silent Step – Moves silently to avoid detection. (Cost: 4 aura)

Disarm Trap – Safely disables traps and alarms. (Cost: 5 aura)

5. Cleric

Healers and support casters who keep their allies alive with restorative magic and protective spells.

Basic Skills:

Heal – Restores health to an ally. (Cost: 10 mana)

Protective Blessing – Raises defense of a target for a short time. (Cost: 8 mana)

Purify – Removes negative effects and debuffs. (Cost: 9 mana)

Smite – Calls down holy light to damage undead or evil creatures. (Cost: 7 mana)

Revive – Brings a fallen ally back to life with some health restored, the ally should not be more than 2 hours dead. (Cost: 40 mana)

As for Ranks in this world—they're basically all-rounder skills, blending what people call "magic" and "knight" abilities. Some include healing, others unique powers developed over time by individuals.

I doubt I should call them "all-rounders" though—it sounds like those jack-of-all-trades who never master anything. But that's what they're called here anyway.

Honestly, I'm making specialization the new trend. It's like telling everyone, "Stop doing everything halfway—pick a lane and crush it."

The Revive skill… yeah, that one's just too OP—out of this world. The mana cost to use it is insanely high, but still, it's Revive nonetheless. If this skill ever got exposed, Clerics would instantly become the most sought-after targets in the world.

I mentally noted this down as a warning to myself—to remind my believers and followers in the future if any of them ever choose the Cleric path.

After jotting it down carefully, I used the system to record everything I wrote and saved it securely. I'll only activate these skills when I have an abundance of Points in the near future—no need to rush and waste precious resources now.

Ah, right—I almost forgot to mention that the measurement of time in this world—the seconds, minutes, and hours—is the same as in my previous world. Kind of weird, isn't it?

I heard that one of the main church's Apostle, was the one who introduced this system about 100 years ago. Now I'm curious… could that Apostle be a reincarnation too?

There's a good chance of that. Apostles can actually live indefinitely, as long as their god remains alive. Talk about cheating the system, huh? Immortality through divine connection—that's one loophole I wouldn't mind exploiting myself.

Far away from Zephyr, on one of the continents—specifically within the main church of the goddess Clayea—stood a woman with a voluptuous figure, long golden hair, and dazzling golden eyes. She was surrounded by several robed figures and sat at a remarkable table and chair, casually eating a slice of cake.

The chef approached, bowing slightly. "How is it, Apostle Racheal?" he asked.

Racheal smiled, savoring the taste. "Hmm, it's good. Honestly, you're the best cook I've ever met."

The chef beamed with pride. "Ah, thank you very much, Apostle Racheal."

Just then, a woman approached and asked, "How are the sales?"

The chef replied, "At this rate, we'll soon run out of stock. People are flocking to our shops every day."

Racheal nodded. "Then increase the stock and open more stores."

"Yes, Apostle," the chef said before walking away.

Racheal's POV:

It's been almost 159 years since I transmigrated. Only a year ago did I finally acquire the materials needed to create pizza and cake—but with this, I won't be bored anymore.

I wonder how the other Apostles are doing?

Unbeknownst to Zephyr, his assumption about the Apostle were entirely correct.
