Chapter 82 - [CHAPTER 82] Fuu's Wave Transmission Technique, A Phone-Call Jutsu

Later that day, Kakashi explained to Naruto that he should not remove Kurama's cage seal unless he was absolutely sure. Unlike Fuu, Naruto's situation was different. If he were to unseal Kurama's cage seal completely, the chakra's of Minato and Kushina would appear to help him reseal the fox or to help Naruto. Kakashi believed this should be a surprise for Naruto, something for a family reunion that would happen at the right time. Afterward, Kakashi went to Fuu's house to examine the sealing formula that could hide the chakra of a Tailed-Beast. Her home was not far from Shibuki's place.

Kakashi was genuinely excited to see what kind of Fūinjutsu could conceal a Jinchūriki's chakra, which was volatile by nature. He didn't recall a sealing technique quite like it. However, when he personally saw the basement door, he was half disappointed and half surprised. He was disappointed because the sealing formula was merely a mixture of the Four-Symbol Seal and a Chakra Suppression Seal, both of which he already knew and had learned. He was surprised because the way the two seals were merged and layered in high numbers was something no ordinary sealing specialist could do.

The presence of the Four-Symbol Seal was also a minor surprise, but considering the decades-long alliance between the two villages, it wasn't overly shocking. When he checked the sealing technique used to contain Chōmei inside Fuu, his speculation was proven correct— the Four-Symbol Seal was present on Fuu's stomach as well. According to Shibuki, this Fūinjutsu was called the Dampening Seal of the Hidden Lair. It was a stationary, barrier-type seal created many years ago, during his father's reign. It had to be applied directly to a solid surface and required a huge amount of chakra to hide Fuu's chakra, when the village was under attack.

Observing that there was not just one, but several of these Dampening Seals, and considering the huge amount of chakra Chōmei possessed, he concluded it couldn't be used for a long time. As Shibuki explained, many sealing ninjas had to pour their chakra into it. But this would no longer be a problem, since Fuu, with access to Chōmei's chakra, could now perform the feat herself in a single go. If she could start using Chōmei's chakra and power properly, then as a Perfect Jinchūriki, she wouldn't even need to hide anymore and could face threats by herself.

After staying the night, Team 7 prepared for their return journey to Konoha the next day. Shibuki, Fuu, Shizuku, and Himatsu, along with a few other villagers and ninjas, came to see them off at the same entrance they had arrived from. Shibuki didn't want to give away another entrance to the village if possible, and Team 7 had no problem with it.

Fuu waved her hand at them and asked, "Hey, when will you come back again?"

Kakashi responded with a question, "Fuu, would you like to come and see outside of Takigakure?"

Fuu cheered. "Yes! I definitely want to! Will you take me?"

Kakashi chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, but not now. Maybe in a few months, I'll take you to Konoha."

"Really!" Fuu jumped for joy, then glanced at Shibuki, who smiled and nodded, making Fuu smile even more with joy.

Naruto then said, "But don't worry, we'll be in touch, right?"

Fuu nodded with a small laugh. "Yeah, we will."

The day before, Fuu had taught Team 7 her own created Wave Transmission Technique. With this technique, the user could create waves by touching a solid surface, like a wall or the ground, that let them communicate with allies. The technique had an unlimited range, meaning it could be used even hundreds of miles away. The only drawback was that the further the distance, the more chakra-taxing it became.

In the end, Sasuke and Sakura couldn't use it with Fuu because they didn't have huge chakra reserves. But Naruto and Kakashi were different; they had more than enough. The technique would also be useful in battles, as they could communicate without speaking openly.

Shizuku and Himatsu waved enthusiastically, just like Fuu, while Shibuki simply smiled at Team 7, who in return, waved back before jumping into the lake and beginning their return journey to Konoha from Land of Waterfall.

A few days later, in the mid-day time of the day, Team 7 arrived back. Kakashi gave Genin's two days of rest, which they didn't want, even Sakura saying no this time. But Kakashi insisted that rest was as important as training. Meanwhile, Kakashi went to the Hokage's office to report on the mission to Hiruzen, once again only including the main details and omitting other stuff, like Suien's attack and his dealings with Fuu.

Hiruzen read the report and then sighed heavily, taking a puff from his smoking pipe as he glanced at Kakashi. Kakashi noticed that the sigh wasn't about his report, which had nothing worth sighing about.

He asked Hiruzen, "Hokage-sama, is there something weighing on your mind?"

Hiruzen sighed again before pulling a document from his desk drawer and handing it to Kakashi. "Read it," he said. Kakashi was slightly confused as to why the old man was giving him a paper to read instead of explaining it himself.

Kakashi quickly read the main part, raising his brow, muttered, "Kirigakure withdrew from the joint Chūnin exams in Konoha? Could such a small thing as Zabuza's return change so much? Well, whatever, it doesn't matter much to me anyway."

Hiruzen noticed him muttering, thinking Kakashi had already read it all and said, "As you can see, Kirigakure will not be sending their Genin for the Chūnin exams, which will take place in less than two months. I think it is related to Zabuza's return after you defeated him."

Kakashi scoffed internally, seeing that Hiruzen was still hung up on what Danzō had told him back then.
