He scooped the kitten into his jacket.

He ran.

Explosions behind him. Mad Max activated: elite cyborg hunters roaring past.
Jake dashed through maintenance tunnels, dropped via balcony gaps, rolled under closing gates.
By the time Mad Max reached the main road—they were gone.
He vanished into the neon night.He delivered the kitten to a secret AI-run shelter. Silently. No names. Then disappeared.
🏛️ Presidential Reckoning
In his bullion throne room, President Volcryn erupted:
"You lost him?!"
The Mad Max commander looked down.
"He disappeared."
"In Erold, no one escapes us."
A moment of tension, then the bodyguard spoke:
"Sir, the boy is a synth. Possibly top-tier. He escorted Aurora before."
The President's eyes narrowed.
"Then realize... we may have broken reality."
"He used SpectraCore. He may still hold the file."
Volcryn's breath tightened.
"That file controls everything. If the illusion cracks—the world collapses."
He slammed his fist.
"Offer 50 billion dillira bounty. Hacker communities across all three lands—find him. Capture him. Or break him."
Mad Max's leader bowed.Volcryn added coldly:
"Call our neighbors: Heroparty. Meloparty. Tell them we've awakened something dangerous."
💤 Jake in the Dorm
He limped into the dorm at 2:45 AM. Sweat on his brow. Clothes ripped. Heart hammering.
"I nearly died," he whispered, collapsing in his chair.
Mary's image flickered by the desk.
"Boss, this file… it exposes the truth. All three lands are illusions."
"I don't care," Jake replied, shaking. "Send it. Delete the rest."
A knock snapped him out of his haze.
KNOCK. KNOCK.
He stiffened.
"Mary—kill all optics."
The displays went dark.
He crept to the door cautiously.
"Who's there?"
No answer.
Another knock.
He opened.
🌙 Elena POV – The Midnight Visitor
At 3 AM, I couldn't stand waiting anymore. I knocked again—
"Who the hell is that?" came his voice.
I smiled at the familiarity.
He opened the door. Shadows and blue hair under dim red lighting.
I stepped inside.
"I… wanted to check if you ate."
He exhaled coldly: "It's 3 AM."
That didn't stop me.
I walked past him and climbed onto his bed.
He didn't stop me.
I lay down. He just returned to his screen, glowing code in his corner.
I finally asked:
"Why don't you care?"
He didn't answer.
I fell asleep. It was the first time all day I felt safe.
🧭 Jake POV – Final Note
Mary whispered:
"She came again. Found sleep here."
I didn't shift.
I heard a message ping:
"Did you retrieve the file?"
I typed: "Yes. Mission cancelled."
"Come again?"
"Blocked."
The client vanished.
I looked at the sleeping girl beside me. Carefully covered her with a blanket.
"Mary… shutdown. It's almost morning."
Then I joined her on the bed.
Peace—finally.
🎥 Laz POV – Watching the Shadows
From the stairwell, Laz saw Elena leave her dorm in slippers, hoodie half zipped, heading to… nowhere he could tell.
He dialed:
"Sir, your daughter left her dorm around 3 AM. I saw her enter a different block."
The reply was cold:
"Continue observing. Do nothing unless necessary."
The line ended.
His jaw tightened.
Inside, his thoughts churned:
She entered a stranger's room. I have to know.
He returned to his own suite. A girl slept there already.
He pressed his fingers to her hair. Whispered softly:
"Why can't any of you smell like her...?"
He barely breathed.
That was the moment everything changed.
