Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: My Mom Is Azula Uchiha!?

Kurogami House

Kurogami POV

"Azula!"

As I stared at my new mom, one thought screamed through my mind: That deceitful bastard Chris knew my mom looked like Azula!

No wonder he censored every memory and photo of her. He was clearly expecting this reaction.

Anyone who's ever watched Avatar: The Last Airbender would instantly recognize that insanely hot—but equally insane—blue pyromaniac.

While I was still processing the shock, she appeared right in front of me in a blur, concern flooding her face.

"Kuro! What's wrong? Are you okay? Did someone hurt you!?"

She grabbed me by the shoulders, and I watched as her deep black eyes spun into the Sharingan, scanning me up and down for injuries.

Trying to calm her down, I quickly said, "I'm sorry, Mom. I just woke up from a nap and had a nightmare that freaked me out."

Her gaze softened, the Sharingan fading. Then she pulled me into a hug—one that nearly suffocated me in her very motherly assets.

Kinda hard to reflect when you're being smothered to death…

"Right... she might look like Azula—except with black Uchiha eyes—but all my memories show her as a strict yet loving mom. She's always made sure I was well cared for."

Maybe I should stop comparing her to Azula from the show and let my own eyes judge her. People change, and motherhood does that, right?

I pressed against her chest, gasping, "Mom! Can't breathe… Can you let me down, please?"

She giggled and gently set me down.

"Kuro, can you help me with these bags? I picked up your favorite fruits—apples and pomegranates. You can tell me about your nightmare in the kitchen."

"Yes, Mom."

I grabbed two of the lightest bags and followed her in. The kitchen was... huge. A strange mix of traditional and modern, with appliances that felt way too advanced for the Naruto world. I half expected Gordon Ramsay to pop out and scream at me.

After putting the groceries away, she brewed some oolong tea and motioned for me to sit. She slid a cup toward me and smiled—a smile that, for some reason, gave me chills.

"So, Kuku… tell me about your nightmare. And who's this 'Azula' girl?"

Just hearing her say the name made my spine tingle.

I coughed. "Well, in the dream… this crazy woman was chasing me. She was shooting blue fire and lightning. And, well… she looked like you, but with golden-orange eyes and this crazy smile."

Her smile froze. Then she asked, very casually, "Kuku… did you hear any bad rumors about your lovely mom?"

I shook my head. "No, I haven't."

Her eyes drifted as she murmured something about strange dreams and age. Why was she taking a kid's nightmare so seriously?

"Mom, it was just a dream. No need to stress about it."

She sighed. "Kuku, if you have any more strange dreams… promise me you'll tell me, okay?"

"Why? They're just dreams."

She smirked. "Because they might be related to your father's side of the family."

That caught my attention.

"Wait… is this something to do with our clan? Like, the Sharingan?"

She tilted her head. "Yes and no. Your father had many unique abilities. Some of them… might be waking up in you. The strange dreams? Could be one of those signs. So if you notice anything else that doesn't seem linked to the Sharingan, let me know."

I thought back to what Chris told me about my dad. The more I thought about it, the more curious I got. But now that I think about it… I don't even remember his name.

"Mom, I know your name is Reika… but what's Dad's name?"

She shook her head. "Can't tell you."

"What? Why not?"

She shrugged. "Your father said I should wait until you're about twelve or thirteen—around the time you become a genin. Telling you now would cause more harm than good."

I stared at her. "You know how shady that sounds, right?"

She laughed. "That's exactly what I said! But once I heard his reasons… I agreed. Trust me, it's better this way."

"Can I at least know the reason?"

"Nope."

"Please, Mom! He's my dad! I should at least know why!"

"All I can say is: get stronger. When the time comes, I'll explain everything."

"Fine. I'll just graduate early, then! Once you see how good I am at school, I know you'll tell me."

The temperature in the room dropped. My mom gave me a smile so cold it could freeze blue fire.

"I was going to wait until you entered the academy to tell you this, but since you brought it up... you're not allowed to graduate early."

I gulped. "W-Why not, oh most beautiful mom in the world?"

The room instantly warmed up at the compliment.

"Because your father said that experiencing battle too young could hurt your mental health. His family's abilities… they complicate things."

"And I'm guessing you won't tell me what those are?"

She sipped her tea and smiled. "Exactly why you're my son. So cute and smart."

I took a sip of tea, debating whether to ask my next question. Then I just went for it.

"Mom… did dad love us?"

She froze. I swear I saw tears begin to form. She wiped her eyes and smiled sadly.

"Yes, Kuro. Your father loved us very much."

"Then why was he never around? I've only seen photos from when I was a baby. Nothing more."

She got up, walked over, and knelt beside me, pinching my cheek gently.

"First of all, you are still a baby—my baby. Second, he didn't want to leave. He had no choice. So he did the next best thing: made sure we were safe and cared for. And no, I won't go into details. When you're older… then you'll understand."

I stared at her closely. She might look like Azula—minus the gold eyes—but she was something else entirely. Her curves could rival Tsunade's, and despite looking mid-20s, she supposedly fought in the Second Ninja War over a decade ago. Chakra? Good genes? Maybe both.

Still, another question bubbled up.

"…Did he leave us for another woman?"

This time the room got hot. Blue flames flickered in her eyes.

"No, Kuro! Trust me—there isn't a woman alive, civilian or kunoichi, who could steal his attention. Especially not some blonde, drunken cow bimbo!"

"…Blonde drunken cow bimbo?" I tilted my head. "Who are you talking about? And… what's a bimbo?"

Of course I knew what a bimbo was. But I figured playing dumb might cool her off. It worked.

Mom blushed and coughed. "She was a rival of mine during the Second Ninja War. We always clashed—even when on the same team. And a bimbo is a woman who's... not worth your time. When you're older, make sure your mom gives her stamp of approval on your girlfriends. Bimbo-ness can run in families like a disease."

My face twitched at the explanation. Considering the implied heavy alcohol, and being on the same team as my mom… I had one guess.

"Tsunade."

"Mom, what was her name?"

She sat back in her chair. "I'd rather not say. Just thinking about her brings back bad memories. You'll probably learn about her in school. Just know she was my rival for 'most beautiful woman in the ninja world.' And she came in second."

Yep. Definitely Tsunade. And if Mom was her rival, she had to be at least Elite Jonin—maybe even Kage level. I wondered what they fought about.

Smiling, I put on my most innocent voice: "Don't worry, Mom. No one beats you in beauty or skill. You're the best!"

She grinned. "Damn right I am."

Mom looked out the window. The sun was setting.

"Kuro, go take a shower and come down for dinner, okay?"

I nodded and hopped down from the chair. "Okay, Mom."

As I walked out, she called out, "Kuro, if you ever meet a blonde woman who loves to gamble and might be drunk, tell her this: 'I'm the son of Reika Uchiha—not a loser who can't win a single game of chance!'"

I grinned. "Don't worry, Mom. I'll even throw a pie at her face while I'm at it!"

She burst out laughing. "That's my child! Make sure to write cow or pig on top of that pie. Just to make sure she gets the message!"

I laughed and headed upstairs to the bathroom.

Yep. My mom's definitely showing signs of being this world's version of Azula. The blue flames in her eyes sealed it. That smile of hers? It's like a predator ten steps ahead of everyone else. Now I really want to know what she was like in the Second Ninja War...

As I turned the shower on, one thought lingered in my mind:

What kind of messed-up god throws Azula into the Naruto world with Uchiha powers?

Maybe a sadistic one. Or a god who just really, really loves chaos.
