Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Choosing a Worlds with less Suicidal Options

Chapter: Christopher's Office

Alistair's POV

I take a seat across from Christopher as he raises four blank white cards from his desk, floating them in front of me.

"Okay, what am I looking at here? All four cards are blank."

Chris snaps his fingers. The first card on the left begins to shift, revealing an image of a man standing on a cliff, staring at the sun with a tired expression. A massive sword rests beside him, and behind him are swarming monsters. Another man with white hair, who seems oddly cheerful despite the terrifying scene, stands among them.

"Those people and monsters look familiar... Where have I seen this before?"

Chris smiles, launching into a description.

"That world is filled with brotherhood, epic fantasy, magical elements, and a constant clash between fate and free will. It's set in a medieval time period, so you'll need to adjust a bit. But overall, it's a beautiful world with only minor dark elements."

As he speaks, I catch how his eyes drift away when he mentions "minor dark elements."

"Minor dark elements? How minor are we talking?"

"Oh, you know, the usual. Magical sacrifices, a bit of psychological trauma. Nothing major, I assure you."

I look at him with deep skepticism and ask the million-dollar question:

"So, what's the name of this world?"

He whispers something too quietly to hear. "Berserk."

"I'm sorry, come again?"

Chris sighs. "The world is called Berserk."

In that moment, I seriously consider throwing the lemonade and pastries at him.

"Are you fucking serious? That world is cursed! No god would willingly create something like that."

Chris calmly moves the refreshments out of reach. "Actually, there is a god. He's just extremely lazy and lets eldritch beings do the work because they bribed him with a god-tier bed and pillow set. Also, I was kinda hoping you wouldn't ask the name. That world is... difficult to pitch."

"You thought I wouldn't ask for details? I'm an up-and-coming businessman. Details are my life."

"Again, I was hoping you'd just go along with it. It's like clearing old stock."

"I'm adventurous, not suicidal."

Chris sighs, pulls out a small black notebook, and writes something down.

"Alright, show me the next world. Please let it be a decent one."

He places the Berserk card face down. The second card shifts, revealing a figure being struck by lightning, biting his hand. A massive shadow looms behind him, roaring to the heavens.

"The next world is more technologically advanced and has fewer magical elements."

"What's it called?"

"Attack on Titan."

"Give me a phone so I can call your dad to beat you."

"Violence is so uncivilized."

I stare at him in disbelief.

"Uncivilized? You're trying to send me into a world where the main character solves his problems with genocide!"

"It's not that bad."

"Yes, it is!"

Chris lays the card down with a sigh.

"Alright, I promise the next one is better."

The third card reveals a red-haired woman holding a gun, with her team aiming at zombie-like enemies. Giant metallic squids hover in the dark sky.

"Please don't tell me it's what I think it is..."

"Mass Effect. Sexy aliens, advanced tech, cool ships—"

"—and Reapers, zombie armies, and terrifying mind control."

"But sexy aliens!"

I sigh. "Keep that one for now. Next card."

Chris snaps his fingers. The fourth card glows, revealing a massive tree under a blood moon. Four warriors are about to clash, with two wielding giant spectral samurai weapons, and the other controlling a giant wooden golem and a golden fox. An old man floats above them, and a pale woman smirks in the background.

"Do I even need to ask?"

"Naruto."

I lean back in my chair, considering it. That world is brutal—but full of potential. Chakra offers power and creation. Of course, there are cosmic threats, Madara's madness, and the alien Kaguya.

"It's either that or Mass Effect. Tough call."

"Think of the waifus. Naruto has more."

"Is that all you think about? What about chakra, dojutsus, tailed beasts?"

"Don't act like you never fantasized about those kunoichi."

He's not wrong. Kurenai, Mei, Tsunade—even Sakura became a baddie in the end. Ino still reigns supreme over Sakura, though.

"Alright, which world gives me the biggest advantage?"

"Naruto."

"Why?"

"Because I've got an agent there. In Mass Effect, I can barely offer you a guarantee on race, gender, and minor biotics with some passive blessing from me. But in Naruto? You get a full system: status screen, skill tracker, even a shop."

"Do I need to complete quests to buy from the shop?"

"Nope. It's free will based. My agent will ask for trades: knowledge, items, answers to weird questions."

"Not bad. So, what era will I be reborn into?"

"A decade after the Second Great Ninja War. Before the Third."

"So right before Obito loses his damn mind."

"Ah yes. Mr. Simp Supreme."

"Any idea if I'll be born into a clan or a civilian?"

"Clan."

"Which one?"

"The crazy one."

"Kaguya or Uchiha?"

"Uchiha!"

I groan. "So, the clan that gets wiped out, with a moody survivor who abandons his kid while going to hunt cosmic milk. Fantastic."

"Congrats, Alistair. You're Uchiha now."

"Is there any other option? Senju? Uzumaki? Main branch Hyuuga?"

"Nope. This is the only slot open."

I sigh. If I'm strategic, maybe I can survive.

"Do I get any additional benefits?"

"Yes. A system, support from my agent, and a chance to save the clan like I told you already ."

"Alright. I'm in."

"You'll regain your memories at age five, just before entering the academy. Plenty of time to prepare. Your parents? Let's say... your dad is cool, your mom is... different."

"Different how?"

"Pay attention to her fire ability color. You'll get it."

"Anything else?"

"Nope. Ready?"

I nod. Chris taps the glowing Naruto card, opening a glowing blue portal on the wall behind me.

"Looks like the ghost portal from Danny Phantom."

"Great show. Got more seasons in some realities."

"You're just rubbing it in now."

"Benefits of being a cosmic being. No cancellations."

I sigh. "If I do well, do I get access to all that content?"

"Part of the employee package."

"Now I'm motivated."

Chris and I walk to the portal. I turn back. "Any last advice?"

He grins. "Find out who your new dad is. It'll be very interesting."

Before I can reply, he pushes me into the portal like Patches from Soulsborne series. I disappear into the blue light.

"Goddammit, Chris! You bastard!"

Christopher's POV

I watch as the brat finally vanishes.

"And to think he almost threw my snacks because the first two worlds were 'a bit hard.' Mortals are so ungrateful."

I flip open my black notebook. "Note to self: Pitch Berserk to non-anime fans or masochists. Maybe female candidates."

I stroll to the window and open it to and see my intern, Katherine, suspended on the wall, blindfolded and gagged, being tickled with occasional electric shocks. With stars that represent multiverses in the background behind her

"One week should be enough."

I snap my fingers. She teleports back into the chair, disheveled and wrinkled.

"So, what did you learn, Katherine?"

She gives me a puppy-dog look. I glare.

"Not to shop for divine outfits while transporting important souls."

"And?"

"To never embarrass the company again as your only soon to be secretary."

"Lovely. There is a brain in there."

"But Chris... as your beautiful childhood friend—"

"Nope. You lost a soul bless with divine grace. It was either that punishment or a spanking."

She mutters, "I wouldn't mind the second one."

"What was that?"

"Nothing! Anything else, boss!?"

I mentally note to slip anti-horny pills in her drink.

"Go file the interdimensional timeline archives. Then your punishment is over."

"That'll take months!"

"Or you can go deal with Zeus and the rest of the Greek gods . He's moody since I gave Hera a book on how to control lustful gods."

She salutes and runs off. I laugh, snap my fingers, and transform the office into a theater. Popcorn, endless drinks, and infinite Oreos in bag appear.

"Let's see his face when he realizes who is his mom is going to be. That alone will get us billions of views in the first hour."

And with that, the story of Kurogami, child of Hades and Uchiha, begins.

Author's Note:

Next chapter, our MC enters the Naruto world. Things will get crazy. Thanks for bearing with the setup—I like building the foundation first instead of jumping straight in. More action, chaos, and precision coming soon!
