"Lovely to meet you. My name is Luna Lovegood," said the girl as she entered the room with a small bag. The bag was unique, designed with vines and berries, with a bit of feathers in the corner. Luna was wearing clothes that could be considered normal by the standards of both Muggle and wizard fashion—a blue coat and pants with simple shoes. She also had earrings made of wooden branches, which looked quirky in their own way.
"Auden H. Pleasure to meet you," Auden introduced himself. He was actually glad to meet Luna Lovegood, the only character with little to no hate in the entire Harry Potter fandom. Even in the fanfictions he had read, where the main cast was bashed again and again for being idiots by the authors, Luna Lovegood never appeared as the bad guy in any of them.
Her character was such that people couldn't hate her once they got to know her.
Luna looked at Auden curiously while sitting down. She slightly tilted her head as she analyzed him with her eyes.
"Have we met before?" she asked.
"Not to my knowledge, no," Auden replied, but the corners of his lips were slightly turned upwards.
"Yet your expression is as if we are old friends," Luna replied. Her eyes seemed unblinking as Auden looked at her.
"Maybe in another lifetime. But if it's bothering you, I can stop."
"It is not a bother at all, actually—quite refreshing. And you are curious in another way."
"Really?" Auden's eyebrows raised slightly.
"Yes. Your cornea was smaller than normal a few moments ago, like you were reading something in the air in front of you, but I was unable to see anything."
Auden slightly flinched in surprise at that but recovered quickly.
'Damn, there have been rumours among the Potterverse community about her eyesight being magically gifted—and that the unrealistic things she mentions are actually the magic and emotions emitted by others. Even if that's not true, I can now see that her eyesight and analysis are actually stronger than normal.'
"Well, you could say that. I was reading a story about a small adventure," Auden replied.
"Can I see?"
"Sorry, only I can," Auden replied. Even though his words bordered on revealing his recording system, he somehow felt that it was safe to talk about this with the girl sitting across from him. It wasn't because he knew her character from canon. It was because something in his gut told him he could speak to her like this.
"I can't show you, but if you want, I can tell you about it." He then looked outside and saw that the train had started moving. "And it seems like we have a lot of time until we reach our destination."
"I would like to hear it, please," she replied.
Auden then started speaking about The Lord of the Rings, and Luna listened with rapt attention. After half an hour, there was a knock on the door. This time, it was a girl with red hair.
"Hello, are you the only two people in this compartment? Oh, hey Luna," the girl asked.
"Hello, Ginny," Luna replied.
"Yes, we are. Would you like to come in? There's space for a few more people," Auden replied.
"Oh no, it's not that. I'm actually searching for my brother, you see. I can't find him anywhere." As the girl said this, it clicked in my mind who was in front of me.
Ginny Weasley, the youngest of the Weasley family and the victim of the first Horcrux. Although, due to his plans, she might not suffer much at all—unless she spent her vacation reading the school books. With Fred and George as her brothers, no chance in hell.
"I'm Auden H."
"I'm Ginny Weasley. It's nice to meet you. If you find my brother Ron Weasley walking through here, can you tell him to come find me?"
"Sure," Auden replied. Ginny then waved at both of them and went off to search for her brother, who might be barreling through the skies in their father's alchemical car with the Boy Who Lived.
"It happened again," Luna said, which brought Auden's attention back.
"I'm sorry?" Auden asked, confused.
"I can see from her expression that it was the first time you met her as well. But your expression and the way you talked to her show that you knew her in some way too," Luna said, her curiosity showing in her eyes.
"Haha, well, the answer can be considered the same as before," Auden replied, with a slightly wider smile this time, as he saw the gears in Luna's head shift due to his reply.
But before he could decide between starting another conversation or continuing the story, something at the window caught Luna's attention. She turned toward it, and Auden looked as well to find a car flying through the sky.
"What manner of creature is that? Curiously, two people and an owl are sitting in there," Luna asked, looking at the flying car.
"Luna, have you ever been to the Muggle world?" Auden asked curiously.
"Nope. I had a lot of friends in the forests near my house, so I never went out much. Though my father took me to Diagon Alley to get my wand and a few other interesting places."
"Well, the object you see flying is a Muggle car. It's a contraption Muggles created to travel great distances quickly and comfortably," Auden explained while Luna listened.
"Interesting. I've heard about giant metal birds flying through the sky, made by Muggles. Is this car similar to that?"
"Well, no. Muggle cars invented so far are basically made to travel on roads on the ground. What you're seeing here is a combination of both magical and Muggle sides. Though it's most likely illegal, since current wizarding laws prevent interaction between the two," Auden said, while thinking in his mind:
'One of the rubbish rules I need to destroy if I want the wizarding world to handle the technological boom in the 2000s and beyond,' Auden thought as he watched the car barrel forward. And with his hearing, he could already hear Hermione screaming from the front.
A/N- hope you like it.
