Feeling his luck improving, Jay naturally intended to hunt more.
And this time, as he wandered deeper into the pine forest, Jay spotted several small animals that seemed to be gathering.
Considering further, Jay realized that what lay before him was a flock of black grouse, similar to jungle fowl.
The only difference was that their feathers were much blacker and had fewer patterns than those of the typical jungle fowl.
However, these black grouse were larger than the average jungle fowl.
As far as Jay knew, wild black grouse typically weigh around 1.5 kg.
"Although not large, the taste of this grouse is quite delicious, comparable to chicken and duck.
Furthermore, some parts of the grouse meat have a more delicate flavor; just imagining it makes me hungry." Jay, having decided to hunt the grouse, approached the flock.
After narrowing the distance to about 30 meters, Jay aimed at one of the larger grouse.
From there, without much delay, an arrow shot quickly and struck a grouse.
The death of the grouse immediately panicked the flock, which quickly began to flee.
Jay, having observed the escape of one of the grouse, drew his arrow again.
An arrow immediately shot towards the fleeing grouse. Fortunately for Jay, due to his panic, some birds seemed to react slower than the others.
In this case, his arrow managed to hit the wing of the grouse he had targeted.
Upon discovering that he had successfully shot down two birds, Jay was overjoyed and went to the grouse's nest.
There, Jay put the dead grouse in its nest, while the one that had been hit by an arrow in the wing was simply placed in a basket.
He decided to make it a meal for his family.
"Bsssss…" A buzzing sound reached Jay's ears.
This naturally caught Jay's attention. Looking around, Jay realized that a small forest bee was flying toward the depths of the forest.
Seeing this, Jay's eyes brightened.
"Doesn't this just show how lucky I am? I never thought I'd see a forest bee.
Fortunately, my eyes are sharp and my instincts are heightened, allowing me to see where the bee was flying."
Knowing he could get some honey, Jay excitedly began chasing the flying bee.
Whether Jay was truly lucky or not, just a few hundred meters from his successful grouse hunting position, he found a pine tree that appeared much larger than the others.
From what he could see, the pine tree not far from Jay was at least three to four times larger than the surrounding pine trees.
Another thing that impressed Jay even more was the buzzing sound that seemed quite loud.
Hearing this, Jay was both pleased and confused as to why the buzzing sound seemed so loud.
On the other hand, Jay also realized that the forest bee's nest was most likely inside the pine tree.
It was just located slightly upside down from where he was currently standing.
"There are only a few possibilities that could make those bees buzz so loudly, and on the other hand, it's clearly quite a risk for me to approach.
But if I miss this opportunity, I'd really feel a bit regretful, because right in front of my eyes is a beehive."
"Okay, let's take a look first. Why are those bees so noisy and sounding angry!!" Jay decided to approach and investigate.
Walking around to the other side of the pine tree, Jay carefully observed the movement on that side of the pine tree.
He was shocked and couldn't believe what he saw behind the large pine tree.
There, around the large, towering pine tree, were numerous bees.
Flying around, it was currently disturbing a large figure that appeared to be disturbing a beehive.
Jay, seeing this, shrank his neck, and a chill immediately washed over him.
He knew that a great danger, potentially life-threatening, was lurking in front of him.
And that large figure was a black bear, currently busy digging honey from the hive.
"Damn... a black bear that big!!!! And no wonder the bees were so loud!!! It looks like the black bear is stirring up the beehive!!!!" Jay stared in disbelief at what was before him.
He hadn't expected to encounter such a situation; indeed, Jay had initially thought he would reap untold benefits.
But now he realized that his greed for honey had led him into an unexpected situation.
And it wasn't one he had ever imagined, even though he had prepared for the dangers of the forest.
But now he was faced with the danger directly, and it was one of the greatest and most threatening.
Jay had to say it was like seeing a ghost, where he might have known they existed and felt brave enough to face them.
But then, when he was confronted directly, he became confused and afraid.
"What should I do!!!" He felt confused about what to do.
Jay talked to himself, but he seemed to be awakened by his doubts and fears.
Jay then remembered that he had a space. Isn't this a powerful weapon that can't be defeated!!!?
"Stupid...what is a bear and what is a tiger? If they are put in a space, won't they just become dead animals!!!" His confidence built up.
Jay then tried to negotiate with himself, convincing himself that he could fight the bear.
"Ahhhhh... I'm so annoyed with this feeling!!!! Just put the bear inside the room.
And all the problems will be solved, especially since the bear is busy eating honey, and it won't know I'm there.
On the other hand, just 5 meters away from the bear, and I can solve this all!!" As if having made a clear decision, Jay then began to formulate a plan.
Knowing that the more he hesitated, the sooner any opportunity he had ahead would disappear.
So, with slow steps, Jay slowly approached the large black bear, which was currently busy eating honey.
Perhaps because Jay's luck was good today, he couldn't hear the approaching footsteps.
Because hundreds, if not thousands, of bees seemed to be currently invading the room, the buzzing was so intense that his ears couldn't hear much of the surrounding area.
On the other hand, his nose, which was also quite polluted, was now completely focused on the aroma of honey that had filled his nostrils.
