Axis nodded in agreement after hearing this. He was indeed going to do this without any reminder.
Infusing the Saibamen with Ki was indeed a viable option, at present, these Saibamen were simply too weak for him, and their output was too low for use as proper cannon fodder.
Compared to Orks, these Saibamen reproduced at a much slower rate. The seeds developed quickly, but their overall growth rate was rather slow.
Axis then took out another Saibaman seed, planted it in the soil, poured nutrient solution over it, and gently stimulated the seed with his own Ki.
The moment the seed came into contact with Axis's Ki, its reaction became much more intense.
Without any hesitation, Axis injected even more Ki energy into the seed.
As the Ki was infused, the seed underwent a violent reaction, reaching a critical point within seconds.
If Axis injected any more, the seed would have exploded.
These seeds were nothing like the first-generation Saibamen.
These were new-generation Saibamen seeds, cultivated in the Warhammer universe and adapted to its environment.
Soon, the soil began to shake violently.
After a few minutes, a green Saibaman, about 1.6 meters tall and noticeably more robust than the previous one, leapt out of the ground!
This Saibaman was exceptionally burly. Compared to the last one, it was a hulking brute.
Axis checked its combat strength.
This one had a power level of about 100, slightly stronger than an ordinary Firstborn Space Marine.
However, it still could not use Ki.
Axis's Ki merely strengthened the seed, allowing it to hatch into a more powerful Saibaman.
Just like the one that hatched earlier, this Saibaman immediately knelt before Phoenix and called him Father.
These second-generation Saibamen trusted their father Phoenix much more than Axis himself, which was very different from the original Dragon Ball Saibamen, which recognized Axis as their master after being stimulated with Ki.
If Axis wanted to command them, he would have to use some classic Saiyan methods, such as making an example of one to warn the rest.
The good news, however, was that Phoenix, as their father, could control them perfectly.
"Master! All these children will obey my commands. Perhaps in the future, I can use my own Ki to cultivate them," Phoenix said.
"Let's do that. These two little guys will follow you for now. If I need them for someting, I'll have them show up," Axis replied with a nod.
He wondered whether these Saibamen could eventually produce seeds of their own, and whether the next generation would be even weaker.
If the quality kept declining, then this troop type would become completely useless.
Phoenix was clearly not bound by rules of the Warhammer universe, but his offsprings clearly were.
At this point, Phoenix was more like a Daemon Prince who had completed his ascension.
The only difference was that his body was formed from Ki originating from the Dragon Ball universe, not from the energies of the Warp!
"Axis, even with your Ki used to enhance the seed, their combat power isn't all that great. You need to cherish the original seeds you have left," Kasha said to Axis after they left the laboratory.
"I know. These Saibamen seeds can be planted and will sprout within a few minutes, so I can just grow them whenever I need them. In the future, I plan to add other plants or special animals to them. What do you think about Orks?" Axis asked.
During the last time he destroyed an Ork world, Axis had carefully collected some Ork flesh and blood.
Now it was stored in a special nutrient tank, sealed in a stasis field.
He wondered what would happen if he combined Ork mushrooms with Saibaman seeds. He had a few ideas.
"Hmm, while I'm personally interested in the idea, I would not recommend it.
"Orks are too dangerous. I've warned you before, haven't I? Are you sure you could still control the Saibamen after that?
"Even these second-generation Saibamen, even if you cultivate them with your Ki, will no longer obey your orders. You can only try to command them by force, but that won't work on Orks.
"And more importantly, have you considered how adaptable Orks are? If you combine Saibamen with their mushrooms, there's a good chance the Saibamen would end up being exploited by the Orks instead.
"That would make the Orks even stronger. An Ork Boy could already easily crush a human soldier.
"If you added the power of the Saibamen to that, they could even take on the Astartes. Just imagine how terrifying it would be to see millions, tens of millions, or even hundreds of millions of Astartes appearing at once!" Kasha said.
To be honest, she really didn't want Axis to mess with something as taboo as Orks.
If such monsters could be controlled, someone would have managed to do it long ago.
According to her father, the Ork race had been rampaging across the universe eons on end, having encountered countless species.
Orks were created as living weapons by an ancient race.
They possessed incredible adaptability, and unless your technology surpassed that of their creators, you could forget about controlling them.
Orks didn't just reproduce upon death, their bodies constantly emitted bacterial spores.
Dying just triggered a massive burst! This species was truly terrifying.
"Fine! I'll give up on Orks for now!" Axis nodded.
He was no master of genetics, even with all of Malcador's teaching. This was a problem he really couldn't solve with his Ki.
Not even the Tyranids could always outdo the Orks in a war of attrition, sometimes it took actual strategy to deal with these greenskins.
If Orks ever got their hands on the genetic material of Saibamen, combined with their mysterious Waaagh! who knew what horrors might be created? Besides, Axis wasn't lacking for cannon fodder right now.
By comparison, the Catachan Devils seemed much safer. He wondered if Catachan had already been conquered by the Imperium.
Axis planned to deal with the Rangda first, then head to Holy Terra.
If he managed to form his own Legion, he intended to make Catachan his homeworld.
For the next half month, the human fleet remained stationed here.
On the White Scars' side, Jaghatai Khan even sent over some supplies.
More mortal troops were gathered, and Axis officially took command of the Gloriana-class battleship, quickly familiarizing himself with all the ship's operating systems.
Currently, humanity was on the defensive, forced to passively endure attacks from the Rangda.
The only reason they'd detected the Rangda's next assault in advance this time was because some powerful Imperial psykers had foreseen the attack.
Psyker predictions could be very accurate, often warning of disasters in advance.
During the 40K era, the psychic libraries of the early Space Marine Legions had repeatedly predicted danger.
That was why Axis, Russ, and the Lion had come early to this star system to fortify their positions.
Psychic power really was invaluable, not only was it devastating in combat, it could also provide glimpses of the future.
The Librarius was truly a massive asset for the Space Marines.
One day, Imperial troops stationed on the edge of the system suddenly sounded the alarm.
A had tear opened up on the system's outer edge, and a fleet of bizarre black ships appeared.
Each of these strange black vessels was over 5 kilometers long, and some stretched beyond 10 kilometers.
It was a massive armada.
Upon spotting this unusual fleet, Lion El'Jonson immediately contacted Axis and Russ.
The three Gloriana-class battleships took the lead, arraying the rest of the human fleet in a battle line.
"The Rangda fleet is here! Russ, Axis, the battle's about to begin. This time our mission is to wipe out this force.
"We'll line up all our ships and bombard them with lance strikes from a distance, then send in a massive wave of boarding craft.
"Once aboard, we'll carry out decapitation strikes on their ships and plant melta bombs," the Lion explained, laying out his battle plan for Russ and Axis.
This was a classic Imperial tactic: first, a salvo from all guns, then Space Marines launching boarding actions, executing key enemy targets on their ships and planting melta charges.
"No need for boarding actions, or even fire support. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the show," said Axis, already dressed in his tight fitting combat suit with his power armor layered on top.
Kasha and Mader, both master psykers, stood beside Axis, ready to teleport him into action at any moment.
"?? Axis, you're not seriously planning to take on the entire enemy fleet by yourself, are you?" Lion asked with narrowed eyes.
"Relax, Lion. Leave this battle to Axis.
"You and I can sit comfortably in the command center, pour ourselves a drink, and just enjoy the spectacle," Russ replied.
He had absolute confidence in Axis's abilities.
"Dad's right. Lion, just sit back and watch the show!" Axis said, nodding to Kasha and Mader.
"Be careful. We'll keep a psychic lock on you at all times. If anything happens, we'll teleport you out immediately," Kasha assured him, patting down his armour.
"Don't worry!"
