While her task was easy at a glance, the connections she sought were not fleeting ones, but those that had an impact on the lives of both parties. Meeting political leaders at an event or a meet-and-greet did not count.
More often than not, political leaders and corporations try to make a rapport with the chosen heroes for their benefit. It was the surest way to power, wealth, and fame. However, the heroes weren't all saints, as they sometimes let these people down.
Many of these letdowns had been kept from the public eye, and this was done to uphold the image the chosen heroes had in the public space. How were people supposed to feel if the beings chosen by divine entities were nothing but scum?
