Chapter 44 - Chapter Forty-Four: The Discussion about the Kingdom of Alicante

Kingdom of Dumbrock Throne Room, 1509

Elena then turned to her husband, curiosity shining in her eyes. "What can you tell me about the Kingdom of Alicante?"

He leaned closer, his voice barely above a whisper. "Alicante is a land rich with history, but it's also fraught with political intrigue."

"The current king is Ferdinand, known for his strategic mind, while Queen Isabella is celebrated for her wisdom and compassion." "Together, they navigate the complexities of governance and maintain peace among their people."

Elena turned to her husband, curiosity shining in her eyes. "How many children do the king and queen of Alicante have?"

"Fourteen," he replied, a hint of admiration in his tone.

"What are their names?" she pressed, eager to learn more.

"They are Princess Aylin, Prince Emre, Princess Zeynep, Prince Will, Princess Leyla, Prince Kerem, Princess Elif, Prince Ozan, Princess Selin, Prince Baran, Princess Derya, Prince Mert, Princess Asya, and Princess Efe," he said, smiling. "Each possesses unique traits that reflect their parents' strengths."

"That's quite the royal family," she remarked, her fascination growing further. "Do they all live together in the castle?"

"Yes, they do," he replied, his eyes lighting up at the thought. "The castle is a bustling place filled with laughter and learning, as each sibling brings their energy and personality to the mix."

Elena then inquired about the age ranges of all fourteen children.

"They range from three years old up to twenty-five years old," Ferguson explained. The diversity in ages adds to the vibrancy of their family dynamic.

Elena then asked, "Who's the eldest child of that family?"

Ferguson smiled and replied, "That would be Princess Aylin, the one who often takes on a leadership role among her siblings."

Elena then says to Ferguson, "Do you think we should do a marriage alliance with Alicante?"

Ferguson pondered for a moment before responding, "It's certainly a possibility worth considering, especially given the strengths both families could bring together."

Elena nodded thoughtfully, weighing the implications of such an alliance. "It could strengthen our position significantly," she mused, envisioning the potential benefits for both families.

"However," she continued, "we must also consider the potential challenges and how such an arrangement might change our dynamics."

Ferguson agreed, "True, we need to ensure that any alliance is built on mutual respect and understanding, rather than just political gain."

Ferguson then said, "Make sure this message gets to Alicante at once." He handed the message to the royal messenger, who nodded and took off swiftly.

Elena then says, "Hopefully, the messages get to those kingdoms in time."

Ferguson nods his head and says, "Agree, my love. Hopefully they'll get here before Princess Rhaneys and her father arrive."

Elena nods her head in agreement.

Elena then says, "Shall we go and finish preparing for King Arthur, his daughter, and the traveling parties' arrival?"

Ferguson smiles and replies, "Yes, we have much to do before they arrive."

Then they both leave the room to finish preparing for Arthur and his traveling party's arrival.

The Kingdom of Alicante's Throne Room, Three Days Later

Queen Isabella entered the throne room, her presence commanding attention. She scanned the room for her husband, Ferdinand, who stood near the ornate throne.

Ferdinand noticed Queen Isabella entering the throne room and welcomed her with a warm smile. "I was just thinking about you," he said, stepping closer to her.

"I'm glad to hear that," she replied, returning his smile with one of her own.

"We have received a message from Dumbrock," Isabella then said to her husband. Ferdinand raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the news.

Ferdinand then asked his wife, "What does the message say, my love?"

Isabella took a deep breath before responding, "It's an invitation to come to Dumbrock to meet the new princess of Camelot."

Ferdinand looks at his wife with a shocked expression. "Wait, did you just say that the princess is from Camelot?"

Isabella nodded slowly, her eyes wide with excitement. "Yes, and apparently, she is the long-lost daughter of King Arthur and Lady Nimue," she explained, her voice filled with anticipation.

Ferdinand then says, "I had no idea King Arthur had a daughter. Also the fact that he had a daughter with Lady Nimue Broch Torah."

Isabella's enthusiasm was infectious as she continued, "It's incredible, isn't it? This could change everything for our kingdom!"

Ferdinand looked intrigued, his brow furrowing in thought. "What do you mean by that, my love?"

Isabella then says that there's a possibility of a marriage alliance between the long-lost daughter of King Arthur and Lady Nimue, she explained, her voice filled with anticipation.

"This could unite our realms and strengthen our position against our enemies," she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Ferdinand nodded slowly, realizing the profound implications of such a union, and felt a surge of hope for their future.

He contemplated which one of their sons would be a good husband for the prospective bride, weighing their virtues and strengths. The thought of a powerful alliance brought a sense of optimism, and he envisioned a brighter future for their family.

As he pondered, the castle's ancient walls seemed to echo with the promises of prosperity and security. Ferdinand knew that forging this alliance would enhance their influence and solidify their legacy for generations to come.

"Why not our son Prince Will? I think he would be a perfect match for the princess of Camelot. Don't you agree, my love?" says Ferdinand with a confident tone.

His wife, Queen Isabella, smiled thoughtfully, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Indeed, my dear," she replied, "Prince Will possesses the charm and valor that could unite our kingdoms and bring peace to our lands."

Ferdinand then says, "So we are in agreement. Prince Will is the possible choice for a prospective groom for the Princess of Camelot?"

Isabella nodded, her mind racing with the possibilities. "Yes, but we must ensure that he can win the princess's heart, for such a union could change the fate of our realms forever."

Ferdinand's eyes sparkled with determination. "Then let us devise a plan to introduce him to her in a way that highlights his noble qualities and showcases the strength of our alliance."

Isabella turned to her husband, curiosity etched on her face. "But where is Prince Will at right now?"

Ferdinand then says that Will is out hunting with some of the Shadow Hunters.

Isabella then says we need to send word to him quickly and have him meet us at Dumbrock.

Ferdinand nodded in agreement, already formulating a message in his mind. "I'll dispatch a rider immediately to ensure he receives our message before the sun sets," he assured her, his determination evident in his tone.

Isabella then says, "Then I will begin the packing arrangements for Dumbrock immediately and inform the rest of our children of what's going on."

Ferdinand watched as she hurried off to begin the packing preparations, her focus unwavering. He knew that time was of the essence, and every moment counted in their quest to reach Dumbrock before King Arthur and the Princess of Camelot.

Then King Ferdinand leaves the ballroom and heads towards his study to write the message to his son, Prince Will.
