Daela recoils from Drakar's sudden coldness and hurt flashing in her eyes. She cannot blame Drakar for being angry this time.
"I didn't want to leave you, I only wanted to get to my friend!" Daela's eyes shift to Imogen who is gazing at Drakar uneasily. The other captured slaves had taken the opportunity to escape during the fight between the dragon and the Faes.
"I didn't know I'd bump into those bad people; they already hurt me; why are you still mad at me?" Daela mumbles, gazing up at Drakar. She is already used to Drakar's constant attention, and now it stings when he flinches away from her. Getting openly rejected sort of stung.
"I'm sorry. . . Don't be mad anymore," Daela repeats, taking a step closer despite Drakar's unfriendly glare to press her head against his stiff chest, wrapping her arms around him again.
If her new plan is to work, she cannot afford to let Drakar be angry, Daela thinks, this is the only reason she's clinging onto her captor.
