The people's faces around me were very much filled with desperate like expressions, so much that the groups marching forward had this intense glooming aura all around them , some had plain equipment, others had more decent looking ones but in the end, they were all sharing the same dispirited state.
14 years, 14 years were enough to turn this kingdom from looking forward to a bright future to pray to even have the ability to survive the next day and that's going on on the capital, i can only imagine the situation to be even worse in the other cities .
A greedy king is really a blight to those who he ruled but something about what Regard told me caught my pretty much full attention and that was the Increase of Prince Ogo's strength , and by this much in this short amount of time , quite suspicious if i may say, could he have something similar to what i have , and what exactly do i have .
Some riddles are waiting for me to solve and quite lots of them too , probably that Arthur had already relayed my last massage to that idiot prince , now we will see how was he exactly going to react .
I fumed with anger and may have said things that could very much label me as a threat to the whole kingdom, but i'm quite certain that if for Hana to be in that palace, i believe that i will have already stormed that place and let it fall on all their heads.
The prince was sent to get some rogues back came with more than double his original strength and overthrown king Lotor with the same help of those who he was sent after, so how was he able to grow in strength and charisma so fast that he was able to become SS Rank individual at such a young age, capable of exchanging punches with the king of the kingdom .
And even convinced the rogues to join him in this suicidal act of rebellion against the king and the kingdom, can someone from the Real World be the mastermind behind all of this and if so, what is stopping them from using all this influence to actually search more openly for the Shard , whoever came here from the outside most likely came here to acquire that Shard .
But they weren't actively doing so as i believed i heard no one taking about such a task being issued at the Adventurer's Guild, i will have to go and check it out after i'm done here, damnit i completely forgot that i have yet to report that i have finished my hunting task and i should be more than eligible to get full Adventurer's Guild membership instead of the temporary one that i currently have .
Shoot , i keep wandering from one subject to another , without even realizing it , back to our original topic , how was the prince able to increase his strength by that much and in such a short period of time and a more bigger questions began to came up, like why did he allow his father to become the king and what was the reaction of the people from all over the kingdom about this taking place .
I guess him being a some kind of war hero didn't make a space for much doubts to appear , or it could be that they actually weren't aware of what took place that time at least not all of them i presume , as for his way of gaining that much strength , i believe that he got help with that but from who exactly that's the misleading part as for why his father was the one crowned as the new king, i believe that whoever was responsible behind the curtains if there was really someone , i guess he or she preferred it to be this way .
So yeah, i'm pretty much not very thrilled about the future of this kingdom, if it was to be continued being under the rule of this treacherous Royal Family .
But, why summoning us though, like what's actually our role in all of this, things are becoming a lot more complicated than i believe them to be at the first glance , a world filled with magic summoning heroes to repell the monsters and to stand against a demon king, easy to grasp , right ? .
But now i'm actually quite clueless to who are we actually going to be fighting for and with, at least they the others summoned heroes will have to find that on their own as for me let me just say that giving up on my position as a hero had some pros to it after all , or at least i thought .
But could i really Just brush off what just happened with Regard back then, was the problem was with him or with me and Liliana are we special for some reason, or was it just as i guessed, and a more powerful and more influential forces were at work here , that weird mechanical eye was and is a perfect example of how my current strength seems to be quite insignificant if compared to such a phenomena .
Luckily , my brain and comprehension both got a boost to them, otherwise i believe that my mind might have been fried since a long time ago .
What is really the truth of this land and what other secrets could it possibly have ? .
~Phew~ i sighed and began to contemplate on whether i should just go to the palace directly and interrogate that crowned prince, in trying to find out if he know anything about this but in the end i just shook my head and told myself that i have some more important matters to attend to , like the monsters raid that was almost here upon us .
I smacked my forehead in realization after remembering that my Frosted Edge sword got shattered in my fight against that Bloodlord , and apparently i currently have no time to neither fix it nor even go and buy a new one, i guess i will use my fist for this upcoming battle then .
As i was getting closer to the gate of the city, i was actually able to see some hooded figures wearing purple cloaks with a black strange looking eyeball on the back of their cloaks but weirdly enough they weren't going outside but were actually entering the city, who were they and where were they going , the sole reason that allowed them to caught my attention was the faint scent of blood that i was able to get from them and the way they all looked very shady to me is also an extra reason .
Could they be nobles of some kind and that's why they were allowed such a privilege of going freely in and out of the city things are getting weirder and weirder .
Oh, right now that i think about it, how can the Royal Palace survive the attacks that might befall on it while being a distance away from the city's defenses .
They are the royal sorcerers, they are tasked with putting a barrier around the city in hope of lessening the damages , suddenlya voice from behind me began to say noticing that i was still looking at the disappearing sorcerers , but the voice sounded to be quite familiar so i turned around and saw a familiar face, the same old man that i met in the Wicked Forest was now looking at me with a smile on his face and saying Hi .
I won't say that i was overjoyed to see him but nonetheless i was happy to encounter a familiar face and a quite experienced one too , so i replied with a smile of my own and greeted him back .
But if i remembered correctly this troops were supposed to be filled with lower ranking Adventurers, so why would someone experienced as him be of low ranking and i guess he understood my dilemma without even have to ask him about, saying :
Don't look so surprised when you are also are doing the same .
I then showed him my Adventurer's Guild membership card and he just stared at me with a bulging eyes as if asking, who was i kidding , i won't blame him since i can already tell that my strength left a a deep impression and a quite strong impact on the old guy .
He sighed and begin saying : i don't know what is exactly going on with you little guy but i'm glad that you were able to get out of the Wicked Forest safely, i got some insider information from the team of high ranking Adventurers that went to the Wicked Forest to capture him that he was not an S Rank monster but a SS one , so you really did the right decision by forgetting about fighting him .
I looked him weirdly and was quite clueless about whether i should tell him about me taking that Goblin Lord out with a mere yet overpowered punch, but in the end i decided not to, since telling him won't matter that much anyway .
But i'm glad you are okay, Ryuu , as for why i'm here let me first introduce myself, my name is Larn Pron a B Rank Adventurer and believing it or not i'm here to try help people as much as i could and to try to lessen the number of casualties .

Our world is really dark no doubt about it, but i believe each and every person have some light still hiding inside them and by helping each other out i believe that we can even harness that light to change the state of our world to the better .
I very much believed what he just said as it kinds linked with my idea of helping the world, stop dilly-dallying and move .
The guards shouted at us for stopping midway the road chatting, so we continued our conversation while continuing to march towards the city's gates .
Another weird question came to my mind after i remembered all the encounters that i had with the guards in the past days, where exactly were the ton amounts of money that king kept on collecting went to, he wasn't storing them for the next generation, was he ?, who am i kidding of course not, then where was he spending all that money .
He didn't spend them on the guards and anyone can actually tell by them the guards having to exploit the citizens of this kingdom for as much money as they could, then where was all that money going to .
Hey old man Larn, do you have any information about whether they have been able to capture the Goblin Lord or did he actually escape ?.
Nooneknows , but i do believe that he was able to escape, since the area was still being patrolled af if they were searching for something, and no one saw the high ranking party coming back with such a colossal creature that was even larger and more raw strength compared to the previous Goblin Lords even .
I don't know how to react to this but i just nodded to myself and internally told myself that it was somehow better like this .
But mind me asking why are your rank so law, but your strength was already this strong.
Let me just say that i angered someone with high authority at the guild unintentionally which led him to try getting a comeback by decreasing my Rank to F instead of the Rank that i actually deserve which was E , but i expect it to work well in the end .
Heagain start to look at me weirdly again before saying : you are really full of surprises, then he just sighed .
I then asked him about the thing that was on my mind before, about how was the palace cope with the monsters raid .
But his answer left me quite baffled, my most used expression in the last two days , he said :
The palace before had to surround itself with guards and a great amount of barriers yet it would still get damaged by the sheer numbers of those monsters that were attacking it , but that all came to a stop in the last 10 years or so after the new king came to power, before his ruling and during the ruling of king Lotor the monsters raids weren't happening so frequently as currently but were much stronger yes .
And most of the monsters were ordered to attack the palace first, but even when they were able to pass through the guards and the defensive barriers, they were still unable to break through the last defense line, King Lotor Himself but even when he was able to repell most of those attacks the castle was still sustaining some damages .
But after a new Royal Family came to power the raids became more frequently but there were no longer attacks that was aimed at the palace whatsoever like before.
Divine Protection that was the answer that was being provided by the common and the rumors were all about saintess Reince being the one responsible for conjuring it all over the palace and that Divine Protection doesn't allow any monsters to go near the palace, even the high ranking ones , a fishy ability if you ask me, i believe it to be more beneficial if used on the battlefield not at the palace .
Was that even possible, like i heard from Regard that there were some monsters capable of flattening whole cities in a one attack yet the kingdom palace have Reince using some kind of skills to keep the monsters away and if a skill or an ability like this does actually exist what was stopping them from engulfing the whole city in that Divine Protection thing .
I don't buy it too , the more logical explanation that i can conclude from all of this is that there was nothing called Divine Protection in the first place, but there must be some other reasons for why were the monsters not coming close to the Palace .
Monsters raids becoming more frequently after the new Royal Family came to power, how intriguing all the dots are becoming more and more connected , making my conclusion about someone being the instigator for all of this and he is most likely have some kind of relations with the crown prince and the king .
And most certainly the dethrone of King Lotor, all the dots are now pointing towards the demon king and his said army .
