POV: Elder Marcus Thorne
The ground shook beneath my feet as our helicopter landed in Pine Ridge. Even from the sky, I could see the chaos below. Trees were on fire. Cars were flipped over. And in the middle of it all, two small children glowed like tiny suns.
"Sir, the power readings are off the charts," my assistant Elena said, checking her tablet. "The twins' abilities are growing stronger by the minute."
I jumped out of the helicopter before the blades stopped spinning. Twenty Council warriors followed me, their weapons ready. But I wondered if guns would be enough for what we were about to face.
"Status report," I barked into my radio.
"Elder Thorne, this is Captain Rivers. We have over sixty supernatural creatures surrounding the ranch. Vampires, witches, demons, rogue wolves. They all want the children."
"Where are the parents?"
"Unknown, sir. Last report had Ember and the kids escaping through a portal to Sanctuary."
"And the fathers?"
