Now at the age of twenty-five, Sous was tending to her duties such as stacking the hay and mending to the dragons that landed to feed their infants. A Hunter appoarched her, and with one of its boney fingers, it pointed her to go to the meeting room.
When Hunters spoke, their voices were like a whisper yet cold, and dark. It was nothing soothing about them, nothing at all.
Sous walked to the meeting room and waited for her guest. Then she saw them. Tany and a young girl who was about ten years old.
Sous walked to them and knelt down to her daughter. With her bright blue-eyes that resembled Sous, which matched well with her olive tan skin, a mixture between Sous' fair skin and Tany's light brown. The child's hair was long to her mid back and the same color as Tany's.
"Sous, this is your daughter, Fednora. Fednora, this is Sous, your sire." Tany said to the young girl.
The girl looked at Sous, examining her sire's face. Seeing the pointed ears, the fangs, the blue-eyes, the blue teal wings, the antennas.
"I don't have any of those things," she said, pointing at Sous' features.
Sous let out a laugh. "Its seems your more witch than anything else. Which is fine. Not Alpha, not Omega...just a witch."
Fednora grabbed onto Sous' ear, pulling it. She took hold of Sous' antennas and flicked them. Sous just smiled, letting her daughter laugh and play with Sous' oddities.
The ten year old hugged Sous and the Alpha hugged the young girl back, rows of tears rolling down on her cheeks. So grateful that after ten years, she was seeing her daughter.
"I have a puzzle. I wanna put it together...you wanna help?"
Sous shook her head and the two found a table to start the twenty-five piece puzzle. Tany sat on the side, watching Sous and their child interact with one another.
"My favorite color is blue. What's your favorite color?"
Sous thought for a moment. It wasn't something she ever thought about. Unlike her daughter, Sous didn't have the luxury to think of mundane things like that, even at ten.
Sous and Tany stood outside the restroom with Fednora having said she was a big girl and could go to the restroom by herself. It was a prison though and of course, they weren't going to leave her alone.
"So..." Sous started, leaning on the wall awkwardly due to her wings and even after so much time, she was still getting used to them, mainly because her wings were still growing. "Why didn't you ever answer my letters?"
Tany looked at Sous, surprised by her question. "Sous...Apex has been intercepting our letters. Even with you locked away, they didn't want us talking for whatever reason. Its why I'm here now with Fednora."
Sous looked at Tany, overall appalled by all of this.
"Sous...have you not been paying attention to what Apex has been doing for the last decade?" Tany seemed completely terrified by the look on her face that Sous shook her head. "Apex has taken all of the northern and eastern region of Canas. They're about to take the southern region but are having trouble with the western region because of the pixies."
Sous swallowed, not realizing all this had taken place. That meant that the land and provinces that Sous had helped freed was taken back over again. She sighed.
"I don't know, Tany. I'm tired. I don't know if I want to fight anymore. Look at Fednora, I wanna just be with her, be a family. And I still haven't heard from Zan and my son," she said, slumping her shoulders. "I just wanna take care of my kids, you know, maybe have more."
"How many?"
Sous shrugged. "Maybe one or two more."
"With who?" Tany asked. Their relationship having ended back at Hacate.
"Hey, what about Kara?" Sous asked.
"Kara has eight kids and is about to finish her contract with Hacate," Tany explained.
Sous' eye balls became all white with sweat drops behind her head. "Wow! Eight! Wow...Zhiliary's loaded, uh?"
"Ewww, Sous!"
"YEAH!" Sous and Fednora yelled after completing the puzzle. Two hours went by quickly and it was time for Tany and Fednora to leave. Sous hugged her daughter as long as she could until the Hunters pushed them apart and led Sous back to her cave.
She was so happy and sad at the same time. Happy she was able to see her daughter but of course, back to life. But to know Apex had taken so much land was hard for Sous to grasph.
She sat in her cave staring at the fire that her roommate had made that chilly night. Once she finished her sentence, she wouldn't be able to live in Nadia due to her crime and being a non citizen. Going back to Canas meant being involved with Apex.
Sous had ten years to think of a plan to figure out where and what she was going to do when let free. She never finished Hacate so she couldn't get an official job. Luckily she had friends and family that she could go to but it was going to be either Conaska or Faelock.
Sous laid down in her cot and began to think about Kara. Eight children and she was working at Hacate. Sous smiled and shook her head at the same time.
While Sous was in her bed thinking of Kara, Kara laid in her bed, thinking of Sous. The twenty-four year old had eight children, including a set of twins. She was to be leaving Hacate and going back to Canas to teach at Red Woods.
Zhiliary had their children, it would have been too much for Kara to have all eight children at Hacate in Nadia. So the two made it okay for the Alpha to keep all the kids.
It was time for Zhiliary to get promoted as the new Alpha and they were also announcing their take over of Canas with the exception of the west, but Kara didn't like thinking about that aspect of her life.
"Sous..." she whispered, finding out what happened to the Alpha through school records. She found out where she was and how long she was serving, and hopefully when she was done with her sentence, maybe, just maybe, they could start over.
