The wolves were in their werewolf form. They trampled through the snow having come from Nadia, managing to cross the border of Canas, and travel to the northern tip to get to Faelock.
It was war.
Three members of the Faelock clan had come to Caroland and stole one of their processions meant for another. Then one fairy with the audacity of a bull, came to the city hall and declared the act of war.
So be it.
The Apex pack had two thousand soldiers trekking with Deacon and Paya with Doureena and Zhiliary back in Red Woods and of course, Diamond was dead.
Deacon was at the top with Paya to the right flank of him. To the left flank was a new elite who was recently promoted from being an assassin.
During their trek to Faelock, they rested every four hours to eat and drink and they would continue on. Once they reached the border, they didn't go straight through to Faelock. No, they ran around to the icy coast so as to not be seen.
They scaled the cliffs to the grassland that was covered in snow.
Deacon jumped over a branch and transformed into his human form. He placed up his hand, the two thousand wolves came to a halt.
"We will set up camp here. Start preparing!" He yelled out.
Some of the wolves had backpacks upon them, military backpacks. They unhooked them and unzipped their belongings. They began to set up camp immediately.
Tents went up, barricades, trenches were dug out. They had over two thousand Alphas in rank, each of them with a purpose. The goal was to in fact get the woman back, that woman was intended for a warlord who wanted a mate back in Roujin. That swap would allow Apex to gain more land, more territory which meant more power.
Once the main elite's tent was built up including cots, Paya placed a map on the table of the entire land of Faelock.
"We're lucky," she said. "This country is small and is sovereign. If we're lucky, we can get the woman and the land."
"Two birds and one stone," said the new elite, Riley. A female Alpha who was about twenty-five years old with dark brown skin with short wavy black hair with blue eyes, a true believer in Apex's mission.
Sous and the gang walked into the city hall where they demanded to speak with the clan leader. They were led into the council chambers and informed them to sit in the front row.
Sous was the first to sit while the others followed her lead. Similar to when she appoarched Doureena back when she went to Dimona. She was the Alpha of this small pack and even though she was only fourteen, they were starting to follow her.
The door on the left of the council chambers opened. Artreus walked through the door with two fairies following behind him.
He looked at the four who wanted to speak to him and recognized them immediately except for one.
"Sous..."
Sous looked up and glared at the man. She stood up, her fist beginning to burn with the blue flame. The blue particles floated from her and he instantly knew his son's power radiated from her.
She was tall, about six feet. She stood only just a couple of inches below him. And she was what...fourteen. For her to be fourteen and be so lean, muscular, and tall, with this power-it was...it was...
"Where's my mother?" Sous glared at the fairy before her.
Artreus contorted his face. Sous didn't remember him, didn't recognize him.
"Elevyn is safe."
Sous' eyes became wide and she stepped back for a moment. She looked at Monica, Shadow, and Tany who were now standing behind her.
"Is this your pack?" He asked, looking at the three behind her.
"Yes," Tany answered for Sous.
Riley led the hunt that night. She brought four deer into the camp that night. They howled together, sung together, chanted together.
In the center of the camp was a wifi pole that was used to keep in contact with Doureena and Zhiliary back in Red Woods and Roujin, since Zhiliary was heading back to meet with the war load.
Deacon waved Paya over from the camp fire. She came jogging over, her breath white from the harsh temperature of fairy land.
She sat down next to him and looked at the computer screen.
"She wants us to go at dawn," Paya said.
"We'll take two hundred with us into the settlement of where the city hall is. We will then give them a chance to hand that woman over." Deacon said.
Paya nodded her head and walked over to the camp. She howled out, letting the wolves know they would be heading out in the early morning hours. And as the moon lowered and the sun was just over the horizon, the wolves awoke and got into formation.
It was Paya who led the run into the city hall. And it was Sous who's ears twitched and who's antennas began to flutter. She awoke and ran out of her bed that she was staying in her grand...father's house high in the trees.
It was still so hard for to say those words...'grand...father'...
Sous woke up and yelled at the others in her room: Tany, Shadow, and Monica. "THE WOLVES ARE HERE! THEY'RE HEADING NORTH!"
Shadow fell out of bed
Thud!
He got up in a frantic. Tany shot out of bed and took her wand from the dresser. Sous didn't wait, she opened the window and jumped out the tree.
She landed forthy feet below and ran on all fours to the city hall. She ran up another tree and used the branches to get to the city hall of Faelock. She heard them coming closer and she was going to meet them there. Her blue particles left behind a trail for the others to follow.
"Gladius!" Sous screamed, barely having used her wand in months, many of the spells she knew, old and new, were able to be called upon with a simple word.
Her sword came within her hand, the blue flames that engulfed her fist transferred over to the sword.
She fell from the tree onto the city hall that was within another tree, one of the biggest tree houses in Faelock.
An alarm rung out, informing citizens to stay in doors.
Kara was getting dressed and ready for school along with Rhymes when she heard the alarm. The two girls exchanged looks and walked to the window. They peered out, trying to see if they could see anything.
There it was, the movement of a wolf. Kara almost slammed her face into the window.
"Was that a wolf?" Rhymes asked.
"Yeah...what...what are they doing here?" Kara asked.
"You know them?" Rhymes asked.
Kara was ashamed to answered and she wasn't the only one, for across the way, Monica was making her way toward the campus Kara stayed on, needing to protect her daughter, her flesh and blood.
She placed a cloak over herself to prevent any wolves from recognizing her. She took her wand out, ready.
Shadow jumped from tree to tree, making sure his weapons were stocked and loaded. That they were able to be easily grabbed from his holsters and belt. He pulled out his colt and put one shot in the air.
BANG!
A wolf fell from the tree, landing on the ground, spilling blood. Shadow smirked as he continued on to the city hall.
