Chapter 132 - The Brothels Arc: Six

"Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky. Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are," Elevyn sung to little baby Sous. She was wrapped in a blanket in their decrepit not even a one bed room apartment.

Filled with roaches and rats, loud noises, frighten screams for when the messengers came.

Puimo came up behind Elevyn and gave her a hug. "She's so peaceful..."

She smirked. "Yeah, when she's not being fiesty."

Puimo laughed, hugging his wife and glancing with loving eyes at his baby girl. She was the best thing to ever happen to him. Already he was so proud of her. She didn't do anything but be born but to him, that was an accomplishment.

Elevyn gave Sous to Puimo to hold. He walked over to the couch and sat down. Beside the chair he sat on was a bucket that was catching water that came from the leaking cieling, a common occurrence for them and many families in the complex.

When it rained outside, it rained inside as well. The apartment was filled with mold and dust, bugs and other kinds of sickness. It wasn't fit for a growing family that was for sure.

"Honey, let's move to the human side of Red Woods. There's more opportunities for us," Elevyn said. She changed the bucket, switched it for an empty one and threw the other bucket water down the sink.

"Okay," he was tired. He had come back to Red Woods years ago to try and argue the case that there was no need nor reason for the wolves to treat him and others who weren't pure wolves so badly. "I have one more meeting with Doureena tomorrow."

"What if she blacklists us from working with the humans? You know they have an alliance." Elevyn said.

Things were getting tight. They could barely make ends meet with Puimo working odd jobs here or there. He had so much opportunity in Nadia but he didn't want to move there, he wanted to stay in Red Woods and raise his family here.

Elevyn simply thought it was foolish. She was born on the human side where the other species were treated better even if they were forbidden from using magic. Still, she hadn't any desire to stay in Red Woods. If they could leave then that was what she wanted to do.

Puimo came home early from applying for jobs. He entered into his apartment building and saw Headmaster Fanu waiting for him at his apartment door.

"Headmaster?" Puimo said as he continued on the steps to his door.

The headmaster nodded his head. "I came to speak with you. Offer you a position."

Puimo opened the door to his apartment, his wife and toddler daughter were away. Headmaster Fanu looked at the large futon and then the smaller one right beside that one.

"This place is rather small." Fanu examined.

Puimo did agree with that. For the last five years he had been trying to find a job but with no luck.

He waved his hand and offered Fanu to sit and whether he wanted tea or coffee. Headmaster Fanu wanted neither.

"Puimo, I think it would be great if you came back to Hacate and taught along side Clarence."

Clarence was the alchemy professor, had been for quite some time. Puimo thought he was retiring soon to go back to his clan and lead as the patriach. Maybe he had misheard.

"What was the reason for coming back here, Puimo? Your jobless, live in a dump, and the wolves have blacklisted you while they continue to discriminate against you and the others."

"My residency documents were stolen by a messenger and I haven't been able to get duplicates because the wolves are blocking the application process through their portal," Puimo explained. "And with the baby, she's growing so fast, its been hard to find time to get to Nadia. The wolves stop me anytime I go outside the tracks."

Headmaster Fanu listened intently to his previous student. He was well aware of how he was being treated. Hence the reason why he sought after him to begin with.

Nine year old Sous jumped out of the shack and onto the grass. She ran around the back and got the water bucket needed to get water from the stream.

Elevyn stepped outside and yelled out to her oldest child...because that was right...Sous wasn't the only child.

"Sous, bring back two buckets of water and put them on the heating pad."

"KAY!" Sous picked up the two buckets and ran to the nearby stream. She placed the buckets into the water, only filling it up as high as she could. She ran back to her shack and waddled up the stairs with the buckets. She placed one on the heater and the other on the floor.

She ran to her mother and pulled on her her dress.

"Yes, Sous," Elevyn questioned. She was beginning dinner and was using the small coffee table in the middle of the one room shack.

"Can I play with Sasu?"

"He's sleeping, baby. Its still early. Go and play with the kids from the neighborhood."

"KAY!"

Sous jumped out of the shack and ran toward the field where she would meet with her friends including her best friend Kenan.

Knock, knock!

Elevyn looked up from her cutting board and licked her fingers. She walked to the door and opened it, seeing a messenger before her, an Alpha female.

"You're wanted at the city hall," the messenger said.

Elevyn looked at her new born baby and looked back at the messenger. "Can't this wait another time?"

The messenger shook her head.

"I'm not leaving my baby or my child," Elevyn said.

The messenger nodded her head and left.

Sous held the madam by the throat. She remembered now. She remembered she had a younger brother named Sasu. She blinked back tears and cut her hands deeper into the madam.

The madam was pressed against the wall, Sous was no longer the man but now in her true form. When she had used her power, her magae, the cloak no longer worked.

Shadow and Monica both pulled at Sous' arm but she was too strong. They couldn't make her buzz and the blue particles that swarmed around her thicken. They became bigger and became more abundant.

Sous glared at the madam, her canines and fangs both sharp and glistening within the artifical light of the office room.

Her claws sharpen and dug into the neck of the woman, blood began to spill.

"WHERE IS MY MOTHER?" Sous tighten her grip even more. The madam coughed up blood, her feet dangled rapidly.

Sous ignored them calling her name. She slammed the woman in the wall and asked her once more.

"WHERE IS MY MOTHER!!?"

"She...was...sold," the woman said, just barely a whispered.

"YOU SOLD HER!!" Sous threw the madam to the other side of the room. She slammed against the wall, head first, making a gash on the woman's forehead. "YOU SOLD HER!!"

Sous screamed out, her body tensioning up, her face becoming red and wet from her tears. She yelled out in the room, making everyone duck and hide.

Shadow grabbed Monica and Tany by the hand and ran out of the office into the hallway. Sous was powering up and he didn't know what to expect, but he wanted them all out of harms way.

The particles formed into blue fireballs that circled around Sous, her eyes including the whites of the sockets turned dark black-blue. The fire engulfed her body, covering her hands and her feet, giving her a speed that was fit for a God.

Sous walked to the madam that was on the ground, hurt from having her head hit the wall. Sous picked her up by the head, her hand as big as the madam's face.

And with one squeeze of the hand, the madam's head was crushed under Sous' strength. Her blood, tissue, membrane falling to the floor along with the broken pieces of the skull.

Sous walked to the front desk counter and looked at the woman who was hiding under the desk. Sous bent down to be at her level. The woman scared, pushed herself to the corner to try ans get away from Sous.

"Where is my mother?"

"Faelock," the girl answered. "She was sold to fairies."
