Chapter 112 - Goblin Blood Arc: Seven

Doureena got off the ferry with Zhilary, Diamond, Deacon, and Paya and stepped onto the island of Dimona. They were instantly met with insults and eggs being thrown at them.

They were escorted to the royal palace where they were able to clean up prior to the meeting they had.

At the meeting was the King, Queen, and Princess Alana who was the be the one who exceeded the thrown once the queen passed. Two officials were also present.

The wolves were instructed to sit down and were also offered tea and cookies. Paya took some tea and the male wolves took cookies. Zhiliary declined on both.

"You're wanting to negotiate the contract?" Doureena started. "I don't understand why. Its been like this for decades."

The King spoke, clearing his throat, "The people of the nation are becoming more modern as time goes on. They do not like the factory."

"We've always had it like that."

Alana rolled her eyes and sighed. "We were forced under this proposal years ago. We want something better-"

"Alana!"

Alana waved her father and continued to talk to the Alpha. "We have numerous technologies, there is no need for us to hunt them, kill them, mate them like animals for their blood. We can simply stab them with a tiny needle and eject blood," Alana explained. "You wolves just like death."

"You have no manners," Doureena said disgusted with the onslaught Alana brought upon her.

"And you no empathy. Doureena, you have nothing but enemies but your greatest foe is growing a significant number of allies."

The seventeen year old teenager smirked at Doureena. Just shy of her eighteen birthday, this was her way of going into adulthood with a bang.

It was now the Queen's turn, a frightening resemblance to her daughter. "We are going to make these changes without you, Alpha. The people of Dimona have spoken. It is time for the goblins to be set free from this cruel industry."

Doureena straighten her tie and clicked her canines. "You take advice from a murderer."

"Sous is not a murderer," the King spoke. "She had no intention on harming that man, killing him."

"Oh yeah," Doureena heckled. "Is that what the family say?"

Sous stood in the mirror at the bath room with the other female students later that evening. She looked at her wings that were growing more and more. She heard giggling to the side of her and saw girls flushing as they past by.

Her popularity had grown since coming back to school. Thanks to some students from Dimona, word had spread of Sous helping free the goblins and being the motivation for such organizations to sprout up. It also helped that Sous stood above majority of her classmates. Students were constantly having to look up at her and even some teachers. Elves were the only ones still to be taller than Sous for the most part.

Randali slapped Sous on the back. "I predict you're going to be about six feet something by the time you're sixteen."

Sous laughed and walked over to her towel to dry herself down.

"Remember when you used to bring little baby basilisk and wrap a small towel around its head?"

Sous laughed even louder at Randali's question. Sous' voice was still cracking but as the months went on, it was happening less and less.

They walked the halls to their respectable dorms. Mid terms of the semester were under way and soon they would be learning how to summon. Lucky for Sous, she ended up having Randali and Faye in her class. Now that they were done with the books and paper work, they could move on to the actual fun stuff.

Sous walked to her door to see Tany leaning against it. They smiled at one another as Sous opened the door to allow the witch in.

"So...do you know who you're taking to this year's dance?"

Sous flew to her bed, her body bouncing off it. She picked up a ball and began to toss it in the air.

"No, there's no one I like," Sous admitted.

"No one, not even Kara," Tany asked sitting on the edge of Sous' bed next to her face.

"Kara is in Faelock."

Tany looked at the other girls in the room and even though they were quiet, she knew they were listening in. She pulled Sous by the arm to try and get the Alpha up, wanting more privacy with her.

Sous stumbled and trip as Tany guided her to the small garden. She looked at the black door and thought how it was only two years ago when she met Alana and activated the seal for the first time.

She touched her seals, thinking about the years.

"Sous..." Alana said, nervous with herself. "You don't want to go out with me?"

"I uh-" If Sous were to be honest with herself, she wanted Kara. But the older Kara got, the more she was going to be pushed to Zhiliary. And even though she could easily win against Zhiliary...she felt herself becoming torn with fighting just to fight.

Tany took Sous' arms and stepped up to her. Looking up at the Alpha she wanted so badly.

"I..." She still struggled to find her words. "I gotta go." She made Alana drop her hands from within hers and she turned to go back inside to her dorm. She just wasn't ready for that...not now...
