Chapter 111 - Goblin Blood Arc: Six

"Felix, hurry!"

A small goblin, maybe no more than eight, ran through the woods of his village. They were hiding. Hiding from the elves and wolves that haunted them.

He took the hand of his older brother and followed him through the high grass, and shielded themselves in the foliage. They listened for the footsteps, for the chatter. Once it was quiet, they made their way down a slope that led into an embankment.

This embankment had a hatch that led to the sewer system below. Sometimes the elves and wolves would enter but for the most part, they stayed out of the sewers.

It was considered a safe haven, a spot that was less likely cause for them to get caught.

Felix's brother opened the hatch and the two boys climbed down the ladder into the drains. The hatch was closed above.

They exchanged looks with one another. Felix slammed himself into his brother's arms, barely able to shed a tear at the loss of his parents.

Felix looked at his brother's face and saw he too was teary eye but not a single tear fell. His brother took him by the arm and they ran down the sewers to see if they could meet up with the others.

Their bodies were partly submerged under the water when they got to the heavy section of the drains. Rats roamed about and even swam by them with food in their mouths.

Felix stomach growled.

"Don't worry, we'll get there soon," his brother comforted him.

He helped Felix on top of a step that led into a pathway deeper down into the sewers. It was like a slide. They were easily able to slide down but once it was time to leave, if they were able to leave, it would be more of a struggle to get out.

The two brothers made it to the bottom and fell into the the arms of the other goblins of the community.

Some of the female goblins appoarched them and gave them food and water. Someone gave them a blanket.

When Felix looked above the green heads to see that maybe his parents made it out, he didn't see them. Disappointed and sad, he sat down against a wall and began to eat the bread that was given to him.

"Doureena, what do we do with the goblins once caught?" Paya asked.

Doureena walked around the vehicle they used to capture the goblins. She moved past the elves toward Paya. "I told the elves that the males are placed in one van and the females in the other." She rubbed her nose, her face and body covered in dirt from having to wrestle with some of the goblins that put up a fight.

The elves had made a high power net to help catch the goblins. It was a net that expanded when thrown and then shrunk once it wrapped around its subject. It was a net that could not be broke by easy means.

"The males will go straight to work at the factory while the females will go to the barn. We need them to get pregnant as soon as possible to keep the supply going." Paya nodded her head at Doureena and left off to continue with the mission.

Diamond appoarched Doureena, standing by her side with his hands on his lips. Also dirty from dealing with the goblins. He took out his gum and placed it behind his ear. "You know," he started. "Imma need a good beer after this."

"A good fuck too," Doureena said.

The two laughed, watching the elves bring the goblins net by net to the vans.

"I kind of wish we had that new recruit with us. What's her name again?" Doureena asked, nodding at the elves to let them know how good of a job they were doing.

"Zhiliary. She was just accepted as becoming a messenger." Diamond exclaimed.

"We need some help over here!" An elf called out.

Doureena left Paya in control of the front while she and Diamond followed the elf through the terrain. He stopped at a black hatch that was within the ground.

"This is where they escaped to. What should we do?"

Doureena shrugged her shoulders. She was already filthy and full of funk to begin with, she was not going to go into the sewers to go after them.

The practice of making potion from goblin blood started years ago and before Doureena took the mantle from her father, he had told her that when the goblins go underground, to flood them.

"Flood them. Whoever dies, dies. The ones who make it out alive, we'll take."

The elf nodded his head to the Alpha. He called out to his comrades and instructed them to flood the hatch. All the while, a young goblin jumped down from the ladder that led to the hatch, and ran to the very back portion of the drains where the rest were.

"They're gonna flood us!" He screamed.

Panic began to set in. "They never done that before," one said.

An elder spoke, "They did but it was so many years ago."

Felix cuddled up to his brother while the others bickered. "Is this it? Are we going to die?"

The hatch was open and the hose was thrown into the sewer. The water was turned on and it was immediate the water began to rise.

Water moves fast and the goblins found themselves standing in it. Felix stood up, still hugging onto his brother. They moved with the crowd but they were unable to crawl back up the shoot. It was too slippery, making it impossible.

The confined space they were in that was suppose to keep them safe was going to be what brought their deaths.

Felix swam still holding his brother's hand. The two looked at each other, now the tears began to fall. Silent cries. They held onto each other even when the water rose above their heads, even when the last air in their lungs made way for the water. Out of everything, Felix was glad the last thing he saw before his spirit left him was his brother.

Doureena stood by the vans speaking with her team of elites when the elves came to her, dragging bodies of the drowned goblins. They slammed them on the ground in front of the elites and Alpha.

The Alpha looked at the goblins, seeing if they could still extract their blood or chop them up and sell their organs.

She walked from each dead one, soaked in water, their skin wrinkled and delicate. She stopped at the two boys dead who were holding each other, their eyes opened.

For a moment, her mind made her think of her two young sons and them holding each other. It was only for a moment and then she looked at the elf who brought the bodies to her. "Alright, connect them to the machines. Let's see if we can fill the barrels with their blood. Yeah, then burn the bodies. For the ones we can't get their blood then cut out their organs and place them in a cooler then burn the bodies."

Doureena turned around and walked to the front of the van. She slapped it on the hood. "Alright, alright, let's move. Let's get these loads to Dimona. Hurry up!"

"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, happy birthday, dear Kara!!! Happy birthday to you!"

Kara leaned forward at the kitchen table and blew out the thirteen candles that were placed on her cake. Her family cheered including Doureena who's mind was off somewhere else just a few moments ago.

She got up and hugged her Omega daughter. "Awwee, my little baby is all growing up. Thirteen years old!"

Kara hugged her sire back. That year, Kara's birthday fell on a weekend that day in Septembris. She was able to come home from school and be with her family. She was giddy because she had two birthday celebrations, one at home and another with her friends at school.

School, they still never really spoke about her school. It was a secret, a forever secret.

Knock, knock!

Doureena walked to the front door and opened it for Zhiliary who had a present in her hands. She bowed before the Alpha and stepped inside.

Kara looked to see Zhiliary standing in the doorway of the kitchen. She gulped to see the Alpha before her. Monica rolled her eyes, hating the fact Doureena invited this Alpha to come. She glared at Doureena for doing this on Kara's birthday, a day that was supposed to be filled with joy not anxiety.

"She had her first heat a couple of months ago," Doureena said sitting on the back porch of the house with a glass of beer. The two Alphas looked out to the sunset. "I was worried about that mutt getting to her but nothing happened."

"When can I mate with her?" Zhiliary asked. An Omega going into heat meant they were ready to mate.

"I want to keep my Omega happy," Doureena said referring to Monica. "So...eighteen but I'll try and push for sixteen."

"I'll provide for her and keep her safe."

"I believe you will," Doureena said, taking a swig of her drink. She gasped and lifted her knee up to make herself more comfortable on the back porch. Even leaning on one of the pillars. "Jacob's mom is dead and so is the baby." There was a pause. "If she had given birth to your child, what would you have done?"

"I'd have killed it."

Doureena smirked at Zhiliary's answer. An answer that meant only a child with Apex blood was worth keeping.
