Sous was packing her belongings at her desk. It was her last day at the apprenticeship. Once the court hearing took place, there had been some changes. For one, Sous was to stay at the facility in the royal city versus being able to go to the factory.
She took her bag and walked to the elevator. It led her to the front entrance where she stepped outside to see protesters.
Since her day on court, many organizations spranged up that were against the mistreatment of the animals and of the magae who were at the factory. They walked with signs and showed pictures to the public of the mistreatment and cruelty. They looked at Sous as a hero. Someone who brought the truth to light.
There were some though who saw Sous as a murderer. That it was horrible for the way the creatures were treated but it didn't excuse her actions.
Sous shook hands with the protestors and conversed in small topics. They talked about her becoming the head Alpha of Apex, something many of the elves thought was righteous regardless of their stance on whether Sous killing that elf was just or not.
They saw Sous was compassionate, kind, believed in equality, something Doureena didn't. With Sous as Alpha, it would allow Dimona to break free from the chains that bound them to Apex.
Sous walked to Alana and the two walked back to the palace. Alana had two of her handmaidens assist Sous with packing her belongings.
"Are you going straight to Hacate or back to Red Woods?"
Sous zipped up her suitcase. "I'll be going back to Red Woods to see Kara. Then I'll be back in Hacate for the new school year." Sous picked up her suitcase and backpack and proceeded to exit the room with Alana right behind her.
The two girls were escorted to the beach. Although Sous were her business attire still, her hair was down, no longer in the bun. She turned around and gave Alana a hug and told the shorter girl they'd see each other on campus.
Sous walked to her shack to see Kara sitting on top of the roof. Sous jumped up and sat down next to the Omega.
Kara mentioned being packed and ready to head back to Faelock. They'd be heading out that evening. Sous moved closer to Kara.
"Can I ask you something?" Sous said. She was now wearing her typical attire and her hair was wild again. Kara nodded her head at the Omega. "What would you say if I ask you to be my Omega?"
Kara snapped her head at Sous. Her palms became sweaty and she instantly found herself blushing. But...she shook her head.
"We're too young," was her excuse.
"I'm fourteen."
"And I won't turn thirteen until the fall." Kara reminded the Alpha.
Sous gulped and then said, "When I have my rut, I want it to be with you."
For a moment, Kara's face turned completely red and then she glared at Sous, and backed away from her.
"Is that all I am? Something for you to just...to just...mate with?"
"No!" Sous realized her choice of words wasn't the best. She shook her head and reached out to Kara who stood up. Sous remained seated so Kara was the one looking down on her. A tactic Sous did to make herself smaller and less intimidating to the Omega.
"I'm more than a baby making machine." Kara jumped down from the shack and made her way home.
Sous punched herself in the head while calling herself stupid. It wasn't what she meant and it was taken out of context. She was never taught how to appoarch an Omega. She wasn't raised as a wolf but as..as..a regular child. Should she have given Kara food?
"Randali!" Sous screamed.
Kara walked into town, not getting the chance of how Sous was seen in the eyes of Red Woods. Sous' killing that man also made its way back to Canas. The groups and the organizations also made its way back to Canas. Such disruption was a threat to the Red Woods pack and the political world of Canas was witnessing that. And...they were hoping. The residents of all of Canas was hoping the Apex pack could finally be brought down.
The other species never forgot the massacres, the pogroms, the killings, of their kind by the claws of Apex. Sous' name was spreading again just as it did when she first fought Doureena those years ago.
Even the other wolf packs of Canas secretly hoped for Sous to rise since many of the packs were being forced to join ranks and become allies of Apex. Maybe Sous could take out all of the corrupt Alphas, many hoped.
And as the weeks went by, Sous found herself back in school ready to learn new spells and get into mischief as she normally did.
The first thing she did when she went on campus was look for Randali. She ended up finding her in the large courtyard at the front of the school near the trail that led to Fornik.
Randali had her arm wrapped around Zan who was leaning into her.
"No little baby basilisk?" Zan asked.
Sous laughed. "No, he wonders about where ever he is."
"Do you summon him?" Randali asked. Seeing how Sous' face became conflicted, she figured Sous didn't know much about it. Randali sighed and took her arm from around her Omega. "If you have a pet or animal you're really close to, you can summon them to either fight for you or shield you."
"NO! I never heard of that."
"I can teach you if you want," Randali offered.
"I would love that!"
Zan leaned forward and placed his elbows on his knees. He watched the two Alphas converse with one another, feeling a bit giddy. Which reminded him..."Sous, you should probably buy suppressants after your first rut."
Zan already had his first heat the very day he turned fourteen but Randali hadn't had her rut yet. Omegas tended to mature faster than Alphas. Often times Alphas wouldn't experience their first rut until fifteen or even seventeen.
Randali flushed a bit at hearing her mate speak of heat and rut cycles. Randali came from a pretty conservative background and her parents would kill her if she ever got an Omega pregnant. A sweat drop came across her forehead. She quickly nodded her head to herself that she was to remain celibate until...until...
"Am I an asshole for asking an Omega to be with me during my first rut?" Sous asked her friends.
Zan hoped up from the bench and punched Sous in the arm. She coward and rubbed her shoulder as wavy blue tears came from her squishy eyes.
"That's such a pervert thing to ask. Why would you do that?"
Randali got up and began to stretch. She placed her hands on her hips and looked over Sous. She placed her right hand under her chin.
"Hmm," she thought. "Sous is an Alpha due to the wolf gene but since she's mixed with so many other species, what is instinctive to us, isn't to her." Randali placed her arm around Sous' shoulder, both Alphas being tall now although Sous was taller than Randali by a couple of inches while Zan stood at five feet and four inches, a short and plump little Omega. He also had a good size butt-
PUNCH!
Sous flew across the courtyard and slammed against a tree, breaking it in half. She rose to her knees with snot coming from her nose and a black eye.
"DON'T YOU BE LOOKING AT MY OMEGA LIKE THAT!" Randali yelled while Zan stood behind her with a small smile and numerous swear drops covering his flushed face.
"Sous?"
Sous looked up and saw Tany standing in front of her. Sous quickly got to her feet and hugged the witch. She stepped back and saw the witch was staring at her. A crimson shade just over the witch's nose.
Sous was so tall and lean, and fit!
Tany suddenly felt shy especially concering her chest that had grown in during the summer. Sous wasn't the only one growing up.
"You look good, Tany," Sous complimented the young girl. Tany rolled her eyes and flipped her hair. Even though she wasn't the most confident at that moment, she at least still wanted to give that impression.
She walked past Sous in the direction of Fornik. She turned back to see Sous was still looking at her as she walked away. She smiled to herself, making sure to switch just a bit elegantly.
Sous walked back to Randali and Zan. They were about to head in for the day and prepare for the start of classes.
"Have you seen Faye or Makala?"
"Hmm," Randali said. "Faye was over by the sparring fields but I haven't seen Makala."
"I heard Makala was back in Grim still," Zan said.
Sous nodded her head. She would reach out later that evening to confirm either way.
