Chapter 95 - The Vampires of Grim Arc: Four

Zan and Randali looked at Makala as she laid in her bed. Little baby basilisk was wrapped around Zan's neck since he was taking care of it in Sous' absence.

Randali went to the other side of Makala's bed and took hold of her hand. "This is just aweful."

Zan nodded his head. "Who would do this to someone they claim to care for?"

Randali shook her head at her Omega's naivety. Maybe she shouldn't say 'her Omega' since they weren't official.

"I heard Faye tore off his wings," Zan said. "Will they grow back?"

Randali shook her head. "No, pixie wings don't grow back. They were probably grounded up to make pixie dust. Give some per fairy fella a chance to fly if crippled."

Zan turned to look back Makala, her face covered in nothing but bandages.

Faye and Tany sat with their backs to the seat. The same shoes Faye heard when she was practically dying, she heard once more. She quickly took Tany into her arms and threaded themselves out the window.

She swung them over to the top of the train. There she waited for the vampire to move on and not noticed they were outside the stalled train.

"Oh little priestess, little priestess, where can you be?" The vampire with the artillery yelled. He had come back to the cart with the other keg and was surprised to not find her there.

He looked amongst the dead bodies, going from here to there picking up a dead body to see if it were her.

He laid the man down while squatting. "Well shucks," he complained. He stood up and popped his back. The vampire picked up his keg and left to the other cart.

Tany held onto Faye, keeping them warm with extra spell casting. They sat on the top of the train, waiting for the vampire to pass. Once he was gone, Faye took Tany in her arms and threaded her back into the cart.

"I could have took him," Tany said.

"Nah, not with his agility with his guns."

Tany pushed Faye away from her, offended. "Don't under estimate me."

"Keep your voice dow-"

"Oh, you brought a friend this time?" The vampire came back into the cart, closing the door behind them. He looked at Tany. "Oh, a witch. How nice?"

The girls glared at the vampire. Tany took out her wand but just like Faye had warned her, the vampire took out his two barrel shot gun and blasted the two fingers that held her wand up.

Her index finger and middle finger fell onto the floor. She took hold of her hand and screamed.

Sous stopped running when she heard the scream. "Tany?" She paused. "TANY!!"

She ran in the other direction of where she heard the scream. She burst through the cart doors. Running past the humans both the dead ones and the living ones.

Faye picked up the fingers that fell down and placed them into her pocket. She pushed Tany behind her to try and shield the witch. She picked up the wand as well and gave it back to her.

"Heal yourself."

Tany was shaking, probably was going into shock. Faye looked to see the vampire aim and point his gun. She took Tany into her arms and threaded through the other closed door. She broke through the other cart door as well. She placed Tany down and closed it.

"You-don't-know-any-spells?" Tany was shivering, her teeth chattering.

Faye shook her head. "I only use a wand during class, the loaning wands."

Tany was still doing her best to cover her fingers. Faye took off her jacket and wrapped it around Tany's injuries. She helped walk the girl to the other side of the cart and kept her hidden amongst the seats.

Faye stood out in the open, prepared to use a technique she hadn't before.

The vampire opened the door to the cart on the other side of Faye. He still had the keg over his shoulder. He placed it down and got out his glock.

"You like my hollow bullets last time?"

Faye took her needles and slammed it onto the floor of the train. Cracks began to form, redness appearing along with red mist and black smoke.

The vampire stepped back as Faye continued to kneel with her needle still in the floor.

Moans and groans escape from the ground as a decaying hand came to the surface. The bodies of the dead began to emerge from the cracks. The dead human bodies began to fall into the crack, going to hell.

"Hoodoo..." the vampire acknowledged. He stepped back but he fell into one of the cracks. He looked down and saw a decaying humanoid creature pulling at him.

The vampire took his gun and shot at the dead thing but another one grabbed at him. He shot at that one too but all he did was decapitate it. They were already dead so no harm could be done.

Faye watched as the vampire was overpowered by the dead. They pulled and grabbed at his clothes, they pulled and grabbed at his weapons. One of them even bit his legs.

The vampire was dragged into the abyss, the dead taking him with them. Once they were gone and the vampire yelled out for his comrades, the cracks closed. And the train's floor looked like it had never opened to begin with.

Faye collapsed onto the ground, to exhausted and depleted of most of her magae. She looked at Tany and took her hand.

Tany was crying, using her warmth to keep Faye awake, to not have her pass out.

Sous burst through the cart door with her claws extracted and her canines sharp. The two seals on her neck were burning bright orange.

She ran to her friends and took the wand that was on the ground.

"Show me your hand." Sous demanded.

Tany slowly undid the wrap to show her wound. Sous saw the fingers sticking out ofnl Faye's pockets and proceeded to reattached them.

"I can right?" She inquired.

"I think so. They're not black or even purple. I think there's still time."

"Aquasenere!"

Sous watched as the blood vessels, muscles, and skin began to reconnect. She looked at Faye.

"Faye, Faye!"

Faye swatted Sous' hand away. Sous smiled and helped leaned Faye up against the seats.

"How many vampires are there?"

"Six," Tany answered.

The six remaining vampires ran through the carts from the conductor's lair. The kegs were left in the lair. They sensed two of their comrades were down. One of them even found his decapitated head outside.

"Fuck!" The lead vampire screeched out. He dispersed into a dozen bats and flew out the window, his cronies joining him.

They searched through the windows to see if they could find the magae who were killing their friends.

"Stay low," whispered Sous. The three girls laid amongst the dead bodies of the humans. Hoping the smell and the amount of blood would deter the vampires from finding them.

The female vampire landed in one of the carts. She shielded herself from the snow. She looked around, seeing a keg left to the side. She knelt down to examine it.

"No..." Tears began to form at the corner of her eyes but she quickly wiped them away, angry.

She walked down the cart until she came to the door of the other cart. It was nearly turn off its hinges. The vampire glared and opened the door to the other cart.

"I know you're in here!" She yelled out. "You filthy magae!"

The three girls said nothing. As Sous tilted her eyes up, not her head. She saw Little Poop hiding underneath one of the seats. She was inside of a jacket sleeve that was being worn by a dead human.

Sous looked at Little Poop.

Little Poop looked at Sous.

Little Poop squinted her eyes and pulled out a cracker. She chomped on it. A vein popped out of Sous' head. And to think they were doing all of this for her, just so she could become human again.

Sous rolled her eyes and remained hidden as she heard the glass being stepped on by the vampire.

The vampire saw a flicker of light coming from the seals on Sous' neck. She smiled. "Found ya!"

"Stay down," Sous told Faye and Tany.

Sous stood up and stepped into the aisle of the cart. She looked at the vampire and smirked. Sous stomped her foot and took off toward the female.

The female vampire ducked but Sous grabbed her by the hair and flipped her over. The vampire landed sharply on her back. Sous stabbed the vampire, but the vampire caught Sous' claws and kicked the young teen.

Sous flew towards the window, stopping herself from being thrown out.

"Just let us have the human blood. They're practically all dead!" The vampire yelled.

Sous looked at the woman. "NO!" She screamed. She twisted into the air and landed her foot on top of the vampire's shoulder, cracking the bone underneath.
