Chapter 158 - Ninth Life, Just an Ordinary Failure

"No, this part can't stick out."

"No, this isn't smooth—it'll be obvious."

"Too rough. You need patience. Why are you so hasty?"

"What's wrong with you, Geo God? Can't even control stone properly?"

Elliot was like a strict master craftsman, demanding perfection in every detail. The slightest flaw, and Morax would be forced to start over.

"I don't know!" Morax was so frustrated he was nearly in tears.

Pouting miserably, he stared at the seemingly endless task. He felt like he could never make something like this in his lifetime.

Even after four or five hours under Elliot's guidance, he had only managed to complete a small section. Without that guidance, he doubted he could ever imagine weapons being forged in such a way.

He also couldn't help but wonder what Elliot's brain was made of. How could anyone come up with something so insane!?

"I can't do this, bro. I'm done with this spear. I quit."

Hearing those words, Elliot raised an eyebrow.

"You can't even learn something this simple, and you still want to study other elements?"

"This is simple?!?" Morax nearly fainted. This was the hardest thing he had ever tried.

"Then what did you expect?" Elliot countered.

"How long did it take you to learn this, bro?" Morax wanted to know just how twisted Elliot was to call this "simple."

"Learn? This was my own creation. From the idea to completion, it only took me about an hour."

Morax: "??????????"

"Am I really this useless?" Morax began doubting his entire existence.

He even wondered if thousands of years of life had been wasted.

From concept to finished product, Elliot had done it in just one hour. Yet even with the theory explained to him and hands-on instruction, Morax had spent four or five hours and barely managed a tenth of it. Compared to that, he felt like nothing but trash.

"Not completely trash. Just plain trash," Elliot shrugged.

The words hit Morax like a thunderclap. His whole body trembled, the light in his eyes dimming to nothing. He crouched pitifully on the ground like an abandoned outcast, utterly dejected.

"Get back to it. If you give up now, I'll look down on you," Elliot prodded.

"......"

After a long silence, Morax slowly stood again.

"Who said I was giving up? I just needed a break to think of a quicker, easier way."

With his fighting spirit rekindled, he started over.

"By the way, bro, how did you even think of using rocks like this? I never would've thought of it." Morax carefully manipulated the stones, still finding room to talk.

"How? I thought of it while fighting you. I was planning to test it on you, but then you suddenly surrendered. Such a pity." Elliot sighed.

Morax froze in place. His mouth twitched violently, his eyelids jumping.

No wonder Elliot had said "what a shame" when he surrendered. So he had been planning to test a new skill on him!

Morax even remembered asking him about it back then—and Elliot had claimed he wasn't that kind of person. Yet here he was, slipping up.

What a scheming bastard!

Still, even while grumbling inside, Morax couldn't help but admire him.

To think of such a complex and ingenious skill in the middle of battle—and actually make it work!

Under these repeated blows, Morax's arrogance had been worn down.

Only now did he realize how childish he had been, thinking himself invincible and challenging anyone he met.

The true masters always kept their strength hidden!

From that moment, his pride began to fade, replaced by humility.

After all, any shred of arrogance seemed laughable before Elliot.

"So... if you really focused your mind, could you create something even stronger than this...?"

Morax suddenly realized this and was startled by his own thought.

If such monstrous weapons could be improvised in battle, then given enough time to plan and experiment... what terrifying things could Elliot create?

The thought alone sent a chill through Morax.

"You're not that dumb," Elliot replied casually.

"So, does this move have a name?" Morax suddenly asked, realizing the importance of such a thing.

"A name...? No. If you want one, go ahead and name it."

Morax's eyes lit up instantly. This was exactly what he had been waiting for.

"How about 'Magic Scale Spear'?" he asked eagerly, working even harder on shaping the stones.

"Whatever makes you happy," Elliot said indifferently.

After all, creating this kind of thing really wasn't that hard.

Back when he hadn't used Geo, he thought it wasn't as strong as it seemed. But after becoming more practiced, he realized Geo was far more versatile than he had ever imagined.
