Chapter 157 - Ninth Life, Not So Difficult

"What's wrong? Already stunned?" Elliot walked slowly up to Morax, smiling as he teased.

"You..."

"How did you...?"

Morax was completely dumbfounded. He never expected Elliot's attack to be so layered. At first, he thought it was just a powerful strike meant to hide the spear behind the rocks for a surprise assault. But he never imagined the spear would actually explode on impact!

That alone exceeded his expectations, yet the shrapnel from the explosion then circled back from all directions to deliver a third strike. And this third strike was the strongest of them all, smashing right through his shield!

"This isn't difficult," Elliot said as he slowly extended his right hand. A small stone floated above his palm.

"Each stone is an independent unit. Create more stones, then arrange them in the right order and assemble them to form a spear."

He explained, demonstrating as he spoke. More stones floated up, joining together as if they had a will of their own. Each one fit perfectly with the others. Once combined, they didn't just form a spear—the weapon's surface was flawless, smooth, and seamless.

If Elliot hadn't explained, no one would have guessed the spear was pieced together from countless small stones!

Morax froze at the sight. He had never imagined stones could be used like this. But that wasn't all.

"The stone at the tip of the spear is the core—it connects all the others.

"From the outside, it looks seamless, tightly fused. But in truth, there's a small space inside.

"In other words, it isn't completely sealed. It acts more like a switch. Once hit with a strong impact, all the stones instantly fuse together. But because the inner space is limited, the reaction ends in an explosion.

"As for recalling them afterward, that's even simpler. Since every stone is independent, you can control them however you like. You can pull them back immediately after the explosion for a surprise counterattack, or scatter the fragments across the battlefield and strike when your opponent lowers their guard.

"But I recommend recalling them right away. Since we use the Geo element, enemies are always wary of the stones on the ground. So the second approach may not be as effective as the first."

Honestly, it might have been better if Elliot hadn't explained at all. Because his explanation left Morax completely lost.

It was like a grade-schooler listening to a lecture on linear algebra. His mind was blank.

But one thing he did understand: Elliot's spear was built from countless small stones, each individually controlled before being assembled into one weapon. Just thinking about it made Morax's head spin.

"I must be a fake Geo user..." Morax muttered pitifully, lowering his head.

It felt as if everyone else was building with sand. Morax was still piling pyramids and hills, while Elliot had already built a full, lifelike city.

Worse, Morax was the God of Rock, while Elliot was the God of Darkness. By all logic, Morax should have been the more skilled one. Yet he was utterly outclassed.

The frustration was crushing—he felt completely numb.

"It looks difficult, but it's actually simple. Just try it," Elliot encouraged.

Hearing this, Morax slowly began to give it a shot. Before long, a plain little stone appeared in his hand.

Then a second stone appeared, fitting tightly against the first. Soon, a third and fourth clicked into place.

"See? Not so hard." Elliot thought Morax actually had talent.

But just as the words left his mouth, the fifth stone refused to fit. Its shape was wrong—no matter how he tried, it wouldn't align.

The irony stung—praised one moment, stuck the next.

"Make this part concave. Keep the lines smooth. Focus—it needs to connect here and here." Elliot pointed at the stones hovering in Morax's hands, guiding him.

With effort, Morax finally managed to fit the fifth piece. But after that, things only grew more difficult, and Elliot grew more and more impatient watching him struggle.

"You need to do it like this, then this, and finally this—then it'll fit. Got it?" Elliot demonstrated.

Morax nodded, then produced a bizarre-looking stone that had nothing to do with Elliot's instructions.

Elliot felt his blood pressure rising.

"What the hell is this thing? No good. Start over." He dismissed the strange stone Morax had made.

Morax winced as the stone flew off, then sighed miserably before forcing himself to keep puzzling over the next one.
