Chapter 14 - Chapter 12: Lionel Academy

I kept looking here and there while observing my surroundings. Time kept passing, but I didn't find them at all. When I reached the park, I heard a voice and immediately walked towards the source of the voice. There was a group of students who seemed to be surrounding a student from another school. What did they want to do?

The uniforms were a group of six Redione Academy students, but there were four people who had exactly the same body characteristics. They were surrounding a student in a red uniform. The uniform was Lionel Academy.

One of the Redione Academy students said to him, "Do you think we will forgive what you did to our friend?"

The Lionel Academy student answered him calmly, "I don't need your forgiveness, I'll be back, get out of my way."

"There's no way I would do that, right," asked a different student to the other student.

What did they want to do? It might be a little dangerous. They immediately prepared to do something, positioning themselves as if they were going to fight.

The student from Lionel Academy sighed and said, "You guys are people who don't know when to give up."

I immediately ran towards them and tried to stop them.

One of the Redione Academy students asked me, "Who are you? What's your relationship with him?"

I just answered hesitantly, "I don't know him, just a stranger."

That's right, why would I help him? I don't even know him. Whatever they do has nothing to do with me. However, why am I standing next to him?

The Lionel Academy student said to me, "I don't need your help, go away."

I guess I was trapped by my own actions. I made a mistake.

They immediately charged at us and attacked us, instantly starting a student fight between us. Two people from the Redione Academy charged towards me and started their attack. I guess they saw that the Lionel Academy student was more dangerous than me. It couldn't be helped, I didn't intend to fight from the start anyway.

They attacked me using their magic. One of them used ash magic. I didn't know what would happen, but I didn't want to touch him. Meanwhile, the fellow next to him attacked me with a close-range attack. He moved very fast. Honestly, I had a hard time seeing him.

I tried my best to dodge and defend. This fight happened suddenly, and I don't know why it happened. I tried to avoid their attacks, but it was very difficult. Their attacks were very well coordinated and their cooperation was very good. Just dodging was all I could do.

I tried to minimize the impact of my attacks. First, I accidentally kicked one of the people from Redione Academy in the face. In fact, I only intended to push him a little and freeze him to limit his movement.

"S-sorry, I didn't mean to," I said with a little regret.

Strangely, the person just lay on the floor before fading little by little. I was surprised by this, especially since there were four people who had exactly the same body characteristics, which was strange in my opinion. The person disappeared without a trace, then his other friend attacked me from behind.

I immediately dodged and shot a small arrow with my ice magic to limit his movement. He could be said to be quite skilled at dodging it, especially since he was also a long-range attacker. I got involved in a gunfight with him.

We ran quickly while shooting magic at each other. We tried our best to shoot and dodge at the same time. It was certainly quite difficult, especially when fighting someone of equal standing. We circled around in one place while running and using everything around us for hiding or defense. Of course, we didn't go for each other's lives, but the atmosphere here was heavy enough for a normal fight. I finally managed to shoot and freeze his leg with my magic, although he managed to hit my right thigh. Victory for me, I'm sure Sister Wave will be proud of me.

He said to me, "Why are you defending him?"

I just said, "It's not that I'm defending him, but I just feel that it's unfair for you to fight one person with six people. Maybe?"

He replied again, "You don't know anything. Even though it was a competition, he went too far in hurting our friend."

What did he mean? Did I make a mistake? Maybe I was wrong in helping people.

"You'll know once you meet him again. Gyrus from Lionel Academy. He's a cold-hearted person," he said to me.

As soon as I turned to Gyrus, all of his friends were slaughtered. From the original four people, now only two were left. Maybe the four people who had the same characteristics were the magic of one of the students from Redione Academy. They were lying on the floor and breathing heavily. They looked very battered.

I walked over to Gyrus and asked, "There was no need to beat them up like that, right?"

Gyrus turned to me and said, "They challenged me, it was their risk."

I slowly walked towards him, but he aimed his fist at me.

"What do you mean?" I asked Gyrus.

He simply replied, "I don't need your help, now fight me."

He immediately wrapped his fist in his magic and charged towards me. His eyes changed, of course because of his magic, but his gaze also became sharper as if he recognized me as his enemy.

I quickly jumped back to avoid him and said, "Wait! I don't want to fight!"

He said to me, "So naive!"

He continued his attack on me. I kept dodging his attacks. Probably because of my light body, I could move faster than him. Even so, he was fast enough to overwhelm me. When he missed and hit the ground, the ground immediately cratered. I wasn't sure if I could survive his punch.

"I don't want to fight," I told him.

He then replied, "Then stay where you are and let me kill you."

No good, it looks like I helped the wrong person. I kept dodging here and there. I wrapped my legs in my ice magic to help me run and block as much as possible, or more accurately, change the direction of his attacks. Big Sister Wave taught me that if the enemy is too strong we should change the direction of his attacks as much as possible.

Gyrus continued to attack me like a madman. His gaze was very cold, plus his red jacket made him look even more terrifying. Why is there a student like him in the academy?

I tripped and fell, opening an opening for him to attack me. Bad, my life was over. However, fate saved my life. The bell rang, indicating that the festival would resume and continue its event. His fist stopped right in front of my eyes and almost hit my nose. His magic didn't seem to be for attacking, but... For defense? A very common barrier type of magic in society.

He said to me, "You're safe this time, you weakling."

He turned around and quickly left my sight. What's wrong with him? I don't understand people like him. I immediately stood up and tidied up my clothes before going to the festival venue.

In the middle of the journey, someone immediately hugged me tightly from behind and said in an almost crying tone, "Luna! Where have you been?! I was worried about you, you know!"

I was very surprised and immediately looked back. It turned out to be Big Sister Wave in disguise. It seemed like he was trying not to attract more attention.

Big Sister Wave snapped at me a little worriedly, "Luna! Don't just stay silent and say something!"

I could only answer in a slightly guilty tone while keeping my gaze locked on the floor, "S-sorry."

Her voice sounded very serious. This was the second time he had scolded me. Usually he scolded Lunette for her actions, but now I was being scolded by him too. As much as possible I didn't want to be scolded by Big Sister Wave because he was scary when he was angry.

Unexpectedly, Big Sister Wave held my hand and said, "Don't do that again, okay?"

I nodded slightly and said, "Yes, big sis."

Then, she showed me the way to the festival venue and made sure I stayed by her side.

Lunette whispered to me and smiled, "In the end we ended up the same, getting scolded by Big Sister Wave."

I just replied, "Don't compare me to you who intentionally made her angry."

She replied again, "Do you think I intentionally made her angry?" She said in an innocent tone.

I asked her again with a confident tone, "Am I wrong?"

She just chuckled and said, "Not entirely wrong."

We soon arrived at the entrance to where the festival was continuing. We stood silently at the entrance without anyone speaking. The atmosphere here was very quiet and awkward. I didn't dare to speak, especially after Big Sister Wave scolded me. She tried to start a conversation, but because it was too awkward she couldn't get her words out.

Lunette started talking casually, "What's wrong with you guys? The atmosphere here is very heavy."

Big Sister Wave just laughed awkwardly, while I was still silent. Lunette said to her, "You better go to the audience now before it's full."

Big Sister Wave nodded slightly and said, "Alright, take care of yourselves."

Lunette nodded and my eyes were still locked on the floor. I was still too awkward to look at her. I knew that Big Sister Wave was scolding me for my own good, but I was too shocked to accept it.

She said to me, "Luna…"

I tried to look at her face, but before I saw her face I was shocked. She hugged me tightly as if she was hugging her most precious treasure. I couldn't hold back my tears and started sobbing.

Lunette said to us, "Luna has always been a crybaby from the first place."

Big Sister Wave looked at Lunette with a small smile as she said, "You're right, Luna is indeed a crybaby."

I can't help but feel annoyed by them and slightly humiliated. They're so annoying once they begin to make fun of me. Can you blame me? Big Sister Wave is so scary when she's angry.

Finally we parted ways, Lunette and I headed to the arena, while Big Sis Wave went to the audience seats. We prepared for the next match. Honestly, I was still thinking about Gyrus in the park.
