Chapter 12 - Chapter 10: My First Fight at the Festival

One of the leading academies, Lionel Academy, is fighting in the arena. They are filled with superior people who are only recruited directly and recognized by the principal. They are very strong. The magic they use seems to have no gaps, even in terms of physicality they can be said to be almost invincible.

They fought in the arena for less than a minute, even a Lionel Academy student fought a Redione Academy team easily. The person who fought the team was Gyrus, looking very strong and scary. His face showed no expression except flat. You could say gloomy, it really suits his dark red uniform. Even so, people applauded because his performance was very good even though it was brutal.

The battle continued in the arena, then our turn would start again.

Lunette immediately raised her hand and spoke in an enthusiastic tone, "I will join in this second match!"

Rena smiled anxiously and said, "That's fine, but aren't you still tired?"

Lunette replied back with, "Tired? You're so naive, Rena."

I patted Rena's shoulder and shook my head, gesturing that it was useless to talk to Lunette when she was excited. Rena also seemed to understand what I meant. It's like talking to a wall if Lunette was into something. She won't give up and try everything to get it, almost like Rena but more wild than her.

"So, Luna, Leo, and I are definitely going up to the arena," Lunette said as she pulled me towards the arena.

Leo just laughed and followed us, "Fufufu, I think this is going to be fun."

Me, Lunette, and Leo huh. Isn't this dangerous? As far as I know, this team is the worst out of all the combinations of the six chosen members in our academy, but also the strongest one, maybe. Whatever it is, I guess I have no other choice. Leo just walked casually while Lunette pulled me forcefully.

We entered the arena, and we were up against one of the famous academies, Onyx Academy. They looked strong, I could see their desire to win.

Leo just laughed and spoke to Lunette, "I think our opponent this time is quite easy, huh, Lunette?"

Lunette followed by saying, "True, but I think this time will be more challenging than before."

I could see our opponents looking very upset. But they seemed to be trying hard to cover it up by looking down on us.

One of them said, "I see. I guess you guys are looking down on us quite a bit."

Another person said, "That's right, I envy those who are confident before they begin to fight."

Another person said, "I don't think we need to be jealous, since we can easily defeat and humiliate them."

The host said, "Enough talking and let's continue the show, all of you! Neon is watching us, you know! What if she gets bored watching all of you doing a chit chat in the arena?! Dummy!!"

Why did he bring my big sister here? I could also see my sister standing up and clapping her hands excitedly as soon as we entered the arena. There were even some viewers who were surprised to see her clapping, they suspected that there might be something between her and Tyone Academy. Even so, they also normalized it since we were at a festival so they just followed her and began to cheer us.

The host started talking again, "I said enough! Now let the fight begin, all of you students! Neon is at this event!"

Somehow I felt that the longer she spoke, the wilder and rougher she became. She didn't seem to be paying attention to her words anymore. She was so crazy about my sister. I could see my big sister just smiling to maintain her image. She was an idol so she couldn't act carelessly.

The battle began and was different from the previous battles. The atmosphere felt quite tense. Probably because the not-so-strong academy had been eliminated.

"Luna, as usual. The 'charming flower' tactic, okay?" Lunette asked me with a sly smirk on her face. It seems like she's being cheeky again.

I answered her by saying hesitantly and stepping back a little, "Alright, then please guard the front line."

Leo just answered her while moving forward a little with Lunette, "I think this will be interesting."

Our two opponents immediately ambushed us while his other teammate was behind. It seemed like he was the type to strengthen his team from the back line, which is an enchanter. Our team didn't have anything like that, so we used our pure power. Only if we can do teamwork like our enemies, but it looks impossible for us. Our team is just too reckless for teamwork.

Everyone in the arena begins to activate their magic. Leo used his magic that had the properties of bubble gum and combined it with his knife, while Lunette coated her sword with her blue flames and shot some of her blue flames towards the enemy to close the distance or keep her distance. Our two opponents used their magic in the form of wind blades and her other teammate used magic that turned his hand into iron.

I just watched them at the back line, watching them from behind and waiting. Their fight was quite fierce, it was the first time I saw Leo use magic. Maybe it was because Leo's magic and weapons were not suitable against his opponent's magic. If I may say, Lunette was more suitable against that iron guy than Leo, what was his name? I think the host introduced all the participants but I don't remember.

Anyway, one of the people who were our opponents in the back row spoke to me, "I guess we have the same role in the team, huh?"

I looked at him and said, "No, our tasks are different."

He replied again while making fun of me, "Oh yeah? I guess you're right, I'm enchanting my team, while you're just staring like an idiot."

I replied back, "Well, I guess you're right. But it looks like my job is done."

He replied back to me in an arrogant tone, "You're right, because my partner will definitely defeat your partner soon."

I nodded and created a bow along with an arrow from ice by activating my magic. There were some who were surprised and clapped. The floor freezes a bit and turns into white, and the air turns cold as soon as I create the bow. Among them I could hear Big Sister Wave cheering and clapping loudly. They seemed excited because I, who had been silent for a few minutes, finally moved. The temperature falls and almost reaches zero, I guess my arrow will freeze anything in it's direction.

I said to my opponent who was in charge of enchanting his partner, "Are you ready? It's going to be a little cold."

He looked surprised and shouted, "What?! Aren't you-"

Maybe he thought that my job was to strengthen my team or heal my injured team. However, I was actually the same type as Lunette who could fight in any position. It's not like I'm trying to show off, but I can defeat an enchanter without any issue. I will be embarrassed if I can even defeat an enchanter alone.

Without waiting any longer, I released my arrow towards him at a fairly high speed, making a small trail of ice on the floor. When it hit him, the arrow hit his body and froze his front and back. I'm sure it would be very cold, but I was used to it because it was my magic. The ice spreads on his skin slowly and I can see a white breath coming out from his mouth. He barely even moves, he's stuck in the ice.

His other two teammates looked at him frozen in surprise. Leo just chuckled and immediately hit her head without hesitation, making her unconscious. It's almost scary after looking at how he did it so naturally like nothing happened. As for Lunette, she was brutal as usual, she roasted her enemy mercilessly with her blue flames. It seemed like she's just joking around. The arena is burning like a sea of flame due to her magic. It's a contrast when the arena is set by flames, while the other side of the arena is cold and covered by ice.

Lunette walked towards me and said, "It seems like the 'charming flower' tactic is going well huh?"

I sighed and said, "I'm not sure about this tactic because your ideas are always unexpected."

Really, she used me as a distraction to break our enemies' teamwork with a surprise attack. It's a shame that she used me as a tool for her plan, but it worked anyway. I don't think this plane would be successful against other enemies outside the school.

She replied cheerfully again, "Don't worry, I still have a lot of tactics because I've watched other anime and movies."

I answered her with a tired face, "I don't know what animes or movies are, but okay."

Sometimes Lunette did say things that were unclear and unthinkable. The flower charm tactic was one person was tasked to distract the enemy's attention while the others did a surprise attack on the enemy and attracted the attention of the other enemy when their comrade fell. A simple tactic, but it worked well enough for an amateur.
