Alakazam—a Psychic-type Pokémon with terrifying potential. Among the Psychic-types, few possess a power so refined, so volatile, and so intelligent. It's no surprise that Alakazam shares many traits with Sabrina!
That silver spoon in Alakazam's hands isn't just for show—it's a specialized focus tool. It continuously helps channel and stabilize its immense psychic energy. There was a time when Alakazam was known to be highly aggressive toward humans. Its power was volatile and uncontrollable.
That all changed when a researcher discovered something remarkable: contact with silver jewelry significantly calmed Alakazam's mind. Multiple experiments confirmed that silver could store and emit a stabilizing psychic resonance—perhaps a unique psychic "magnetic field." Ever since, nearly every Alakazam has been required to carry a silver spoon.
Over time, the spoon became more than a tool—it became a symbol of Kadabra's evolution. Though few know the origin of this tradition, it's an enduring legacy. And perhaps, Alakazam itself knows how important the spoon is. Even in defeat or near-collapse, it never lets it go.
And yet now… for the sake of helping Sabrina gain Ash's approval, her Alakazam has tossed aside the silver spoon—releasing its full, unstable power. It's in complete overdrive, dangerously close to losing all control. Probably only Sabrina can sense the extent of its condition.
"I didn't think this thing was real. I thought it was just a legend..."
Ash's expression turned serious as he watched Alakazam's intensified psychic aura. He recalled reading something like this in Professor Oak's old research notes.
"Alakazam!"
Sabrina knew exactly what was happening. Unfortunately, Alakazam had already lost most of its consciousness. The only thing it recognized was her—and even then, just barely. Tyranitar had now become its primary target.
"Be careful," Ash warned. "Its strength is now at the peak of Champion-level."
Ash activated his Kaleidoscope Sharingan, his eyes scanning the battlefield, taking in every movement. Tyranitar gave a low growl in response—he could feel it too. Alakazam's power was nearly on par with his own. If this battle came down to custom techniques, it'd be anyone's match.
"You should surrender," Ash said firmly. "Even with this sudden power boost, your body won't last long. You're already nearing collapse."
Standing protectively in front of Brock and Cynthia, Ash felt a twinge of helplessness. Alakazam's rampage reminded him far too much of Sabrina herself.
"Ha!"
With a flash of psychic light, Alakazam's eyes glowed blue. Instantly, its telekinesis locked Tyranitar in place. If not for Tyranitar's Rock-type resistance, he'd have been flung across the arena!
Suddenly, deep gashes tore across Alakazam's body—blood spurting wildly. Its physical form had begun to collapse under the strain of its own psychic force. Ash had seen this before... when Sabrina herself lost control, similar symptoms emerged.
But unlike Sabrina's milder psychic outbursts, Alakazam's power was raw and destructive. It was a weapon, not a cry for help.
"Alakazam, stop!"
Tears welled in Sabrina's eyes as she watched her partner bleeding out. She hadn't expected things to spiral like this.
"This is bad," Ash muttered. "We need to end this, now!"
"Tyranitar, no mercy—attack!"
Tyranitar roared, his aura erupting outward. His energy surged as he prepared to bring down this out-of-control foe.
"Ha!!"
Alakazam responded with a roar of his own. In an instant, seven or eight glowing white orbs condensed around him—they shot toward Tyranitar like comets.
This was Hidden Power—a move that, when used by Psychic-types, rivaled even Hyper Beam in raw destructive force!
"Tyranitar, Earthfall!"
At Ash's command, Tyranitar bellowed and summoned a strange red ring in the sky above Alakazam. From it, clay-like crimson matter rained down, quickly hardening over Alakazam's form.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
For a moment, it seemed to be over. But then—Alakazam erupted with psychic energy, shattering the hardened clay in an instant. Its power was still rising!
"Ash, I forfeit!" Sabrina's voice cracked with desperation. "Please, Alakazam, that's enough… Come back to me!"
She was crying now. Her heart had shattered along with the clay prison. Alakazam wasn't just a partner—it was her only friend.
"Cynthia, take care of Sabrina! Brock, prep the medical kit!"
Ash's voice rang with urgency as he used Shave to instantly appear at Tyranitar's side.
"Looks like we'll have to fight together," he muttered to Tyranitar. "This isn't just a Champion-tier threat anymore. Alakazam's destructive potential... it's approaching the level of a low-tier Legendary."
"Tyranitar, let's go!"
Ash's voice was sharp and decisive. Tyranitar growled in response, nodding.
Though he knew he could overpower Alakazam with some effort, the current state of Alakazam's body—already breaking down under the pressure of its own psychic force—meant that this couldn't turn into a prolonged battle. Ash understood that too. That's why he stepped in himself.
"Now!"
The moment Ash gave the signal, both he and Tyranitar vanished, darting forward simultaneously. At the same time, Alakazam let out a piercing cry, and a powerful psychic magnetic field surged across the battlefield—blanketing everything except for the area surrounding Sabrina.
"Even without full consciousness, it still instinctively avoids hurting her..."
Ash had originally intended to protect Sabrina and the others from Alakazam's psychic outburst—but seeing that subconscious restraint took him by surprise. That bond between trainer and Pokémon was still intact, even in this state.
"Haaah!"
While Ash was momentarily stunned, Tyranitar was caught—his body suspended in midair by Alakazam's invisible psychic grip. Just as it looked like Tyranitar would be flung across the battlefield, a pair of crimson skeletal arms burst forth and grabbed him mid-air—slamming him back to the ground.
Ash had activated Susanoo.
His aura erupted violently as he locked minds with Alakazam, their wills clashing head-on in a chaotic swirl of psychic power.
"Ash!"
Cynthia's voice broke through the haze. She had spotted the blood running down from Ash's eyes and shouted in alarm.
The Kaleidoscope Sharingan had reached its critical limit. His optic nerves, under the intense strain of amplified psychic energy, had begun to rupture. Crimson trails flowed freely from his eyes—proof that his body couldn't handle the burden much longer.
