"I'm fine!"
Ash gritted his teeth, trying to steady himself as Cynthia shouted his name in alarm. His face was flushed, blood beginning to seep from the corners of his eyes.
Damn it...
With only a sliver of power left in my Kaleidoscope Sharingan, there's no way I can summon a full-form Susanoo. Even forming just part of it is pushing it...
Alakazam's psychic pressure continued to surge, pulling at Ash's mind like a riptide. Countless countermeasures and strategies flashed through his thoughts—until finally, he made a decision.
"Fight!!!"
"AAAHHH!!"
Driven by sheer will, Ash forced his ocular power to its absolute limit. A single skeletal arm erupted from the void behind him—then, muscle and sinew rapidly formed over it. Within seconds, a towering half-bodied warrior had taken shape before the crowd.
A crimson giant, clad in blazing samurai armor. Its eyes glowed like burning coals, emitting a powerful aura of dominance and protection. With a low growl, the figure raised both arms and crossed them.
"Yasaka Magatama!!"
With Ash's roar, three glowing scarlet magatama discs launched from the Susanoo's hands, streaking across the field like divine meteors.
As the final shot fired, the Susanoo began to fade. Ash collapsed to one knee, panting heavily. If one looked closely, they'd see his eyes—once gleaming red—had dulled to a lifeless gray.
"BOOOOM!!!"
"GRAAHH!!"
The force of the Yasaka Magatama slammed into Alakazam with terrifying impact. The psychic-type Pokémon was sent flying, its body vanishing into a cloud of smoke and shattered debris. Even after the hit, the projectiles tore through the Golden Gymnasium's wall, disappearing into the distance.
In the aftermath, Tyranitar—now freed from Alakazam's telekinetic grip—rushed in front of Ash, growling as he glared into the settling dust.
"Ash!!"
"Ash!!"
Sabrina and Cynthia's voices rang out simultaneously as they rushed over, one taking each of Ash's arms. Sabrina, especially, was already in tears—Alakazam's berserk state, paired with Ash's brutal injury, left her heart in turmoil.
Ash steadied his breathing. "Tyranitar... while Alakazam's unconscious, return the silver spoon to him."
Tyranitar nodded. Picking up the twin silver spoons from the floor, he stepped into the haze of psychic smoke. Alakazam lay collapsed amidst the rubble, unconscious but still alive. Carefully, Tyranitar placed the spoons back into Alakazam's hands.
The moment contact was made, a soft blue light radiated from Alakazam's body. The turbulent psychic pressure that had nearly torn the battlefield apart instantly dissipated.
Ash sighed. "Help me back to the room... Brock, take care of Alakazam."
Brock nodded and immediately began tending to Alakazam's wounds. Sabrina looked reluctant to leave her partner's side, but with Cynthia's help, she guided Ash away.
That Kaleidoscope Sharingan… it's reached its end.
Ash closed his eyes as they supported him back. "The Eternal Mangekyō… I have to get it. I've had enough of this pain. Every time I use this eye, it's like I'm being torn apart."
The power he had just unleashed had cost him dearly. His vision had completely faded. But in the darkness, a spark of resolve flared.
I need more power... I can't stop here. I won't.
By the time they returned to the room, Ash's eyes stared blankly at the ceiling—lifeless, gray, blind.
"Sabrina, Cynthia... I want to be alone for a while," he said quietly, raising a hand to his forehead. His whole body ached, especially from the strain of summoning Susanoo. He felt as if he were paralyzed.
"Ash, let me stay with you. Your eyes… your injuries—"
"Cynthia. Please."
He interrupted her with a weak, sweat-drenched voice. Truthfully, if he let himself relax for even a second, he might pass out.
"Alright... just call me if you need anything."
Cynthia, knowing Ash's stubbornness, nodded. She left without pressing him further. Sabrina hesitated for a long moment, then followed, giving Ash one last sad glance before closing the door behind her.
A heavy silence fell over the room.
Ash slowly activated Aura to check for lifeforms nearby. Sensing no one in range, he whispered—
"System."
Ding~!
"How can I assist you, host?"
"Assist me?" Ash chuckled bitterly. "I'm blind. Tell me—between the Mangekyō Sharingan and the Eternal Mangekyō… is there another level?"
This idea had only just come back to Ash now.
Back when he used Susanoo, all he did was unleash raw power—slashing, smashing, and overwhelming with brute force. But the technique he used to defeat Alakazam just now sparked something deeper in his memory. It reminded him of someone from the Naruto world...
Obito Uchiha.
Yes—Obito, the pitiful "boss" character who had been manipulated by Madara Uchiha. After witnessing the death of the woman he loved—Rin—Obito awakened a strange evolution of the Sharingan.
Not the Mangekyō Sharingan.
But something above the standard Mangekyō and below the Eternal Mangekyō—a rare transitional form of ocular power that many fans simply dubbed the Kaleidoscope Sharingan.
Unlike the standard Mangekyō, which granted signature techniques like Amaterasu or Tsukuyomi, the Kaleidoscope variant seemed to reflect a user's innermost emotions even more directly. When Obito's heart broke upon Rin's death, his worldview collapsed—he saw reality as a lie. And in that moment of rejection, he awakened Kamui, a unique space-time ability that let him phase through dimensions—a power some would consider broken.
No one needed to explain how powerful the Kaleidoscope-level Sharingan was. But it wasn't without its flaws.
Sometimes the ability it awakened was... useless.
It didn't guarantee a powerful attack like Heavenly Illumination (Amaterasu) or a devastating illusion like Tsukuyomi. That's just the price of chasing godhood through the eyes—like gambling with your soul.
The only clear advantage?
Unlike the Mangekyō, it didn't cause blindness.
Even Madara and Obito probably never understood why their eyes lacked direct attack or illusion powers. Perhaps they wondered why their abilities didn't fit the pattern.
Ash, however, did know.
Because he had read the original story. Because he had browsed forums, watched fan analyses, and pieced together theories from across the internet. That's how he figured it out.
Ding~!
[To obtain the Kaleidoscope Sharingan, your mental strength must reach the necessary threshold. The cost is 5,000 attribute points. You will also need to forfeit the Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu abilities. Upon awakening, the Kaleidoscope Sharingan's powers will be shaped by the essence of Uchiha Itachi's mind, as the current Sharingan form was originally copied from his.]
Ash raised an eyebrow.
"So you're saying that while this Kaleidoscope Sharingan is mine, its form is still based on Itachi's version… and therefore its awakened abilities will resemble his?"
He wasn't angry. Not even surprised. Honestly, Ash didn't care much—so long as the eye was completely under his control.
[Correct,] the system replied. [To develop a wholly original version of the Sharingan with your own custom ocular abilities, you must awaken your own bloodline version of the Sharingan. This process requires 500,000 attribute points.]
Ash narrowed his eyes—or at least, he would have, if he wasn't blind at the moment.
Five hundred thousand attribute points?
Yeah... definitely not something I can afford right now.
