Chapter 42 - Mika Sullivan

As they walked to the bar counter, a lot of hungry eyes stared at them. It was rare to see handsome Asian men in a gay bar in New York. Valentin and Seojin ignored the preaching eyes and ordered their drinks.

Suddenly, a pretty boy with asian like features ran down the stairs dizzily. He was rushing out of the VIP room upstairs. His fragile legs wobbled, and Valentin caught him just in time. The boy hiccuped from the drinks he was forced to drink.

Mika held on to the stranger and pleaded, "Please help me."

If he continued to drink in the VIP room, who knows on which bed he would wake up the next day? He worked as a server, but a client dragged him upstairs to serve him.

A rich-looking man walked down the stairs, chasing the pretty boy. He was the definition of a spoiled second-generation rich kid. He had a white suit and golden accessories. He seemed pretty decent, but Valentin guessed that he shouldn't judge people by their looks. The man clearly had a perverted look when his eyes shifted to Mika.

"Where are you going? We haven't finished yet," the man said. The boy was on the verge of being too drunk and losing his sense of self. He was only a few steps away from having the boy on his bed.

Seeing the boy holding on to Valentin's shirt, the man clicked his tongue in annoyance. He didn't have the patience to deal with these kinds of things. Why did the boy escape when he almost succeeded in his plan? He had promised him to pay for his debt, so why did he leave? A few months ago, Mika was still a being that he couldn't dare to touch, since he was the son of one of the most powerful families. But now, he was only a normal person. How dare he still look down on him when he stooped down from his rich status?

"What's going on?" Valentin asked. He guessed that it was a situation similar to what happened to Seojin. Why do these trashy people keep harassing anyone they find attractive? Can't they take no for an answer?

Realizing that Valentin was handsome, the man was even more annoyed. How dare he steal Mika from him?

"You shouldn't get involved with him. You won't even know how you will die," the bartender behind Valentin warned him. That man was notorious for being ruthless. Since his family was powerful, he didn't hesitate to get rid of people whom he didn't like. There were even rumours that he didn't treat his partners right. After using them, he just tosses them away like trash.

Seojin frowned when he noticed that nobody in the bar was willing to help the boy. It reminded him of his incident when he used to work at the bar, which pissed him off.

"Who's this boy?" Valentin asked the bartender.

"He used to be the young master of one of the most influential families in America. But now, he's working as a server at the bar. Unluckily, he caught that dangerous man's attention," the bartender replied.

"Shouldn't you be helping your colleague?"

The bartender kept his head low in shame. How could he offend that dangerous man? Valentin sighed. He knew that these people were all too scared to do anything. They were only normal people after all. They had to protect themselves first before helping others.

Valentin didn't want to blame them because that's what most people do. He was just disappointed that society had become like that. He was born rich, so he couldn't understand what normal people felt. What were they afraid of?

Seeing that Valentin had no intention to give Mika back, the man warned, "If you don't want to die, you shouldn't get involved."

"But, I do want to be involved," Valentin said. How could he not help someone when they were asking for it? Mika also seemed to have Korean roots, so that's more of a reason to help him.

"I've never seen you before. From which family are you?" the man asked cautiously. He had never met someone who talked back to him like that. Normally, people would cower in fear when they saw him. His red eyes were also a unique feature, as if highlighting his nobility.

"I'm from the Vronsky family."

"Never heard of it," the man mocked. "Maybe you should go back to your country."

Of course, the Vronsky family was only recognized in Korea. They haven't extended their power overseas. Maybe it was time to make their debut in the US, too.

"You'll hear about it soon. I'll take this guy with me," Valentin said.

Since Mika was in a weak condition, he carried the boy with his strong arms. Seojin knew that it wasn't the time to be jealous, but he was. The man glared at them as they exited the gay bar.

'Just you wait, you'll regret getting in my way,' the man thought. His lips curved into a sinister smile as he thought of the ways to get rid of the red-eyed man. It annoyed him that he was more handsome than him.

They arrived at the hotel where they were staying. Valentin placed the boy on his bed. It seemed like Mika was completely knocked out.

"Looks like I'll have to squeeze into your bed tonight," Valentin said.

Seojin nodded, looking way to much happy. Valentin laughed, seeing the kid's cute expression. It seems like the male lead really liked him.

Unfortunately, the bed was king-sized, so they had enough space not to sleep close together. Sensing Seojin's disappointment, Valentin moved closer to him and put the male lead's head on his chest.

Surprised by the proximity and the judge's soft chest, Seojin's eyes reddened. He didn't expect Valentin to initiate skin contact. Usually, he was always the one who courageously made the first move. Overjoyed, Seojin hid in Valentin's embrace and rested on his soft chest. It was another day worthy of being written in his small diary.
