Sometimes, I just sit and thank my stars for having a friend like Irene. She is basically a shining star in my life, and I am thankful for the gift of her.
After she had come back from the confrontation with Lucien, she did her absolute best to cheer me up, and I have never felt so relieved.
She even let me stay the night at her place.
Now it's morning, and I'm getting ready for work again.
"It's okay if you don't want to go back there immediately; you can take your time."
A small smile finds it way to my lips, "Don't worry about that, Irene. It pays three hundred thousand grand a year; why would I want to mess that up?"
"But..."
"It's Lucien I have a problem with, not my job," I sling my bag over my shoulder, "I gotta go now. Bye!"
I reach the office at exactly eight AM. Walking through the front door, I notice how Olivia gives me a strange look.
