"Ahh," a moan escapes my lips as I subtly stretch my legs on the bed.
"Am I alive?" A confused mumble follows, because a blinding white light hits my face, and I feel like I'm among clouds.
"Am I finally in the afterlife? Did I die?"
I squint my eyes shut trying to understand what's going on, then I open them again.
This time, my eyes adjust to the lights, and I sit up, stretching again.
"Oh!" I yelp in pleasure, feeling my sides ache from the stretching.
"Oh no," a splitting headache attacks my forehead.
"What the hell?" I hold my head, hissing at the pain gnawing at my skull.
A knock at the door interrupts my thoughts.
"Ms. Sanders? It's almost time for breakfast," a familiar voice hints at me.
It's Kara.
"Coming," I manage to reply before slipping out of the bed.
...
In no time, I am skipping down the stairs, looking forward to breakfast.
Lucien is already seated there, ready for work.
Oh fuck! I totally forgot about work!
