Chapter 68 - Chapter 67 - Summer Solstice (III)

The three sat on the ground and talked about what had happened over the past two years. Upon learning that Godwyn and Thalia had become a god and a goddess respectively, Annabeth's eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

She was no longer the girl who knew nothing; with the help of her brothers and sisters, Annabeth knew what a god was, what they represented, and how powerful they were. One could say they were walking disasters.

This was so shocking in little Annabeth's eyes that she looked at Godwyn and Thalia with eyes shining with admiration, making both of them puff out their chests proudly. Seeing little Annabeth look at them that way made them very happy.

Of course, Godwyn and Thalia spared Annabeth the details of how they became gods; talking about murder in front of a child was not a good thing.

Seeing Annabeth's eyes, Thalia's lips curved into a smile, she looked at the girl and said. "I wanted to show you my powers, but the Greek gods might notice the foreign divine energy in me."

Although Thalia was Greek, her Divine Position did not come from Greece, which is why she was considered a Norse goddess. Annabeth nodded, she was not a child who cried when she wanted something, she knew the importance of discretion at that moment.

Annabeth nodded, although she wanted to see Thalia using her powers, she knew that Thalia and Godwyn were in enemy territory. It was foolish to do anything that might attract the attention of the Greek gods.

"Godwyn, Thalia, and Mimir opened a bar called the Garden of Eden, a place for demigods to escape this world and rest without fear of being killed or ambushed." Godwyn said, pulling out a deck of Tarot cards and handing them to Annabeth.

"If you think he or she has good moral character, distribute these Tarot cards." Godwyn spoke with a smile. Although he couldn't steal some Norse demigods because they were in Hotel Valhalla, he could steal Greek demigods. The Greek gods themselves didn't care about these demigods; after all, these demigods never received a Divine Position.

But for Godwyn, who would create a Pantheon in a few years, he needed many demigods, especially demigods of this modern era. As for waiting for gods to be born naturally, Godwyn wouldn't do that. These gods would be no different from the gods in all pantheons.

(Note: Although I say this, some important characters from Elden Ring were born as gods in Godwyn's Pantheon. Miquella, Malenia, Radagon, Leda, and a few others.)

"From what you said, this bar is a secret; they might tell the Greek gods its location." Annabeth looked at the Tarot deck in her hands and said with a confused tone. She could see that the Garden of Eden was a secret place for Godwyn, Thalia, and Mimir, so if the demigods revealed the address of the place, it could be very dangerous for her friends.

"They can't say anything; they forget the existence of the Garden of Eden when they leave through the door, but when they return, those memories will naturally come back." Godwyn spoke with a smile. How could he not know this? He knew this; the Eden Bar might be a resting place for demigods, but it was more of a screening for these demigods.

Godwyn was not naive to think that all demigods were good or had no major moral flaws. Just as with gods, there were good gods and bad gods; the same thing happened with humanity.

Godwyn would judge whether these demigods were good or bad; the bad ones naturally couldn't join the Golden Order. The good ones could join, but only if they wanted to; he wouldn't force anyone to join the Golden Order.

After all, when a demigod joins the Golden Order, he or she had to follow the philosophy of the Golden Order; this was a leash for these New Gods, but Godwyn didn't care about that. This was the adult world; when you gain something, you also lose something.

This was the inevitable wheel of fate.

Annabeth nodded and put away the deck of Tarot cards; she would give them to her brothers and sisters, although she doubted any would actually join the Golden Order, Godwyn's self-help organization against tyranny. Her brothers and sisters, descendants of Athena, were too arrogant to fall to that point.

None would betray their mother; Athena was special to these sons and daughters; all desperately wanted the goddess's love. Annabeth wanted something similar; she wanted Athena to be proud of her; love was just a consequence of that admiration.

"Let me tell you about the Nine Worlds." Thalia began to speak animatedly about the worlds she had traveled.

Every time Thalia spoke about other worlds, Annabeth's eyes showed a trace of envy; she also wanted to go on an inter-world adventure with her friends. Unfortunately, she was too young for that, especially against the enemies Godwyn and Thalia would fight. Especially now that they had become true gods.

Crossing her arms, Annabeth's eyes narrowed, she looked at both of them and asked skeptically. "I presume you didn't come because of me, or at least that's not the main reason."

Godwyn looked at Annabeth and nodded, he smiled and spoke with a tone full of innocence. "Since the lord of Olympus is having a party to celebrate the Summer Solstice, I came to have some fun."

Thalia and Annabeth rolled their eyes at those large, seemingly innocent golden eyes without any malice. Anyone who knew Godwyn's past knew he was up to something, as he was about to invade the main base of the Greek gods' enemies!

Even a fool knew something was going on, much less Annabeth, who was the daughter of the goddess of wisdom; the girl was really sharp at figuring things out. "Just be careful, I heard Olympus is full of gods and goddesses, especially the Olympian Athletes; everyone will be on Olympus, including the two kings of the underworld and sea respectively."

"It seems your mother convinced the King of the Underworld and the King of the Sea to reconcile with their younger brother, although I presume it's only because they are at war." Godwyn said with a laugh, hearing the mention of Hades and Poseidon. He didn't believe that the grudges between the three brothers had disappeared because of a few words from Athena.

Annabeth didn't hide this open secret and said directly. "Yes, it was half a year ago. The Three Kings met and all parted on good terms. Although I heard rumors that the King of the Underworld and the King of the Sea forced the King of the Sky to accept some conditions."

Hearing this, Godwyn showed a sad expression; he wanted to see Zeus's expression at being forced by his younger brothers to accept the conditions. He could imagine that Zeus was furious; accepting any condition from Hades and Poseidon was humiliating for the King God.

"He must be quite furious, but he knows he can't do anything right now, or he will lose the two main gods in this war. Once that happens, he will have to deal with powerful gods alone." Thalia said with a sarcastic smile. Although she had never really met her father, she knew how arrogant he was through Mimir and Godwyn.

Although King Gods are generally arrogant, few compared to Zeus, especially since he was the third generation of King God of Greece. Thalia didn't understand how her father could be arrogant knowing that he could have the same fate as her grandfather and great-grandfather.

The two previous examples weren't enough to make her father have a little humility, especially with his two brothers? If Zeus treated Hades and Poseidon a little better, Thalia could imagine that many conflicts wouldn't happen.

Godwyn looked at Thalia and let out a sarcastic laugh. "The King of Olympus is really interesting; even knowing it's good for him, he still feels humiliated by something so simple. I must say his ego and pride are enormous."

Annabeth and Thalia agreed with Godwyn's words. Perhaps because they had normal minds, they could never feel how Zeus truly felt. In the end, as King, Zeus saw the world differently from other beings.

Suddenly, as if remembering something important, Godwyn said. "By the way, I brought a gift." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a huge brown leather book.

Annabeth's eyes were drawn to the huge book.

"Mimir and I, our favorite talking head, made this book; it can answer your questions, and it's linked to another book in the Garden of Eden, which you can use to talk to us without being detected by other demigods and gods." Godwyn handed the book to Annabeth and spoke in a gentle tone.

Annabeth's eyes shone hearing the book's functions, she hugged the book and hugged Godwyn tightly, making the Norse god smile.

Suddenly, Godwyn looked towards the Empire State Building, a smile appeared on the Norse God's lips.

"The party has begun."
