It had been late when I returned, I was exhausted and all I wanted to do was go to bed and get some sleep. I hadn't bothered to linger behind and find out what Elias had to say, I knew Rafael's little game had upset him and he'd probably have something to say about it but I didn't wait to find out.
Besides, we still weren't on talking terms, he'd gone back to pretending there was nothing between us after last night, and I, in return, had played along. I was done being affected by his coldness and his act.
I got out of my dress and slipped beneath the covers, I tried not to think of Rafael, of his fingers working me so confidently, I tried not to think at all, and it wasn't long before I began drifting off.
I wasn't sure if I was already asleep but I realized I suddenly wasn't alone in my room anymore. Rafael was here as well, and so was Elias surprisingly.
"Ariella," Rafael said, his voice low and husky. "I've been waiting for you."
