The bell rang after some hours.....
"Finally, classes are over for today, I thought I was going to die in there," Jasmine grunted, stretching her arms. "You are so lazy Jas sometimes I wonder how you got to class B, you should still be in class C. Did I tell you that Jas was in class C before?" Zoe asked Nora who was looking at the experience cars that was coming to pick up students, "These people are really rich," she thought before looking at Zoe.
"No you didn't tell me anything about Jas being in class C before, wait you were in class C?" She asked in surprise.
"Why am I the centre of attention let's talk about you Nora," Jasmine said, trying to change the topic.
"Yeah she was in class C and Jas was the worst in the class but thanks to me being a good influencer she improved," Zoe continued ignoring Jasmine statement.
"That's great, I hope you also enter your desired class too," Nora encouraged her and they continued talking leaving Jasmine out of it, Jasmine had the urge to facepalm herself as she looked at her two friends.
"Our car is here Zoe, let's go, bye Nora," she said immediately she spotted their car.
"Our car?" Nora asked curiously.
"Yes, Jas and I use the same car," Zoe explained.
"We live close to each other, we are like family," Jasmine added nudging Zoe playfully and Nora chuckled.
"We will get going now," Zoe said as she waved. "Bye," Nora responded and waved back at them.
Nora waited for her driver for some minutes and when she saw her car, she hopped into it immediately. The stares from the students was making her feel uncomfortable.
When she got to a hidden spot, because her school had trees decorating the sidewalks of the school she told the driver to stop and she watched the cars that passed. She was stylishly waiting for Ian to pass. Thirty seconds, two minutes, five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes. "Ugh, or maybe he went in a car, why didn't I think of that," Nora sighed.
"Damn you Ian," she muttered. "Let's go."
When the car left, Ian came out of his hiding spot. He had notice her get into a gray car and he thought she would have gone far when he was passing only to notice that the gray car was waiting. He was not sure if it was her car but just to be safe he waited for the car to go.
Mom! Mom! Are you home, where did that woman go to, let me go and bath, then I'll go to that damn boy's house, how dare him? She said loudly.
In front of his house, she was going to and fro biting on her fingernail, contemplating whether to ring the bell or not.
"It's now or never Nora you can do this, he's not going to bite me," she encouraged herself before she moved towards the doorbell but before she could press it someone opened the door.
"You.....," she froze.
"I'm sorry but are you looking for someone?" a woman asked.
"Uh..yeah, I mean I thought a guy lived here..alone," she stammered.
"A guy? No one stays here, I'm the caretaker I come to clean the house every week," the caretaker said.
"No one? That's strange I saw him come out of this house and enter many times too," Nora thought.
"Ok thank you ma'am," she said and left.
"Where can he be, wait he will be at work, then I'll go to the cafe," she muttered before heading to the cafe.
"Ah, I knew I'll see you here," Nora said as she stared at Ian through the transparent door who was taking orders from a girl with curly hair smiling but one could tell he didn't enjoy smiling at strangers cause his smile was stiff.
"Does this guy know that if he doesn't smile he's going to have wrinkles at a young age, but I must say he's so handsome," she snapped out of her thoughts and entered the cafe and walked towards him when the girl left the counter.
"You! How could you?" She said banging her hands on the counter making the utensils on the counter shake. Some people looked at them, Ian looked at her shocked before he removed his apron and walked around the counter and came to stand in front of Nora, looking so tall that she felt intimidated but not in a bad way though, before she knew it he dragged her by the wrist firmly but not too tight and they went outside.
The owner of the looked at them curiously as he had never seen Ian touch a girl or even be with one enough to hold her before and he shook his head before answering a man that wanted to order coffee.
"What do you think you are doing?" Ian asked immediately they got outside, his eyebrows arched waiting for her to talk.
"What..so you know me now, I thought I was just a stranger you met for the first time today," she ranted as she looked at her wrist that he was still holding, when he realized that he was still holding her, he left her hand. She looked up at him and he stared back but he didn't say anything and she became more agitated.
"Because of you, do you know...ugh nevermind," she blurted. He continued to look at her and she became self conscious, then he opened his mouth "I'm sorry I acted like I did not know but I was just unsure of what to do or say, I did not mean to upset you," he apologized realizing that that was what she actually wanted to hear. Nora was indeed looking for an apology and she was pleased when she got one.
"I'll go back inside now, I've been gone for too long. Do you want to come in? We can go home together," he suggested.
"Speaking about home, I went to your house before coming here and the caretaker said nobody lives in your house," Nora said recalling what happened earlier.
"She probably misspoke," Ian said looking unfazed. Nora eyes narrowed but she let it slide for now.
"Ok if you say so. I would love to stay for some coffee but I've to go, see you in school," she said before leaving and he went back inside.
"Has she gone already? She seemed pissed earlier, Ian's boss said looking curious. "Yeah she has gone," Ian simply said before going back to work.
At the same time in another country.....
"Find him you dimwit!!! What am I paying you for? if you can't find him in two days I'll kill you myself, take this money and get out of my house," the person yelled looking furious. "Yes I'll," the man said leaving the house with the money given to him.
A month and some weeks passed and Nora had familiarized herself with a lot of people but her closest friends were Jasmine and Zoe.
Prom is in a few weeks time, I can't wait. A boy asked me out and we are going on a date. We can do triple date, do guys want to join. I'm sure it will be fun," Jasmine said excitedly. They were on thirty minutes break and there was nothing much to do.
"I'm not really sure, I don't even have a date," Nora replied. "I already have a boyfriend," Zoe deadpanned.
"Geez, you guys are so lame, I can't believe we are friends. Okay, it doesn't have to be a date, let's just have some fun that's all," Jas responded.
"Okay," Zoe and Nora answered at the same time. "I'm bringing Zach with me," Zoe added. "No problem," Jasmine grinned.
" It's weird that you guys do prom before exams," Nora chuckled. "Well, what can I say, we are just special and different," Zoe smiled. "We are still going to have an annual party apart from prom at the end of the session." Jasmine said nonchalantly.
Wow! This school is really different and it's nice," Nora smiled.
The bell rang and they all settled down for the next class.
Hours passed then it was closing, the three friends walked along the school hallway bustling with students and there Nora's eyes caught Ian from afar but he was not alone, he was with the girl she saw in the bathroom but she wasn't with her minions.
"They look good together," Zoe said looking at Ian and the girl like some of the students.
"I disagree, they are not compatible at all, at least Ian deserves someone better than that bitch," Jasmine angrily said shooting daggers at the girl beside Ian. "I also disagree," Nora suddenly said. Jasmine and Zoe eyes looked at her with surprise written on their faces, then Zoe snapped out of it and looked at Jasmine.
"I thought you got over it already and Nora do you have a crush on him too? She asked, Jasmine rolled her eyes but she didn't respond and just looked at Nora instead. Nora smiled sheepishly, "What I mean was that, that girl isn't just good for him, she's very strange and she sounded so arrogant in the toilet when she spoke with me.
Nora has been avoiding being alone or anywhere close to that girl, though there were times when she was glaring at her but she never came close to her.
At the other side of the hallway where Ian was, he stood with his back and one leg resting on the wall with his hands in his pocket. He looked at the girl whose name he didn't even bother to remember even though they were in the same class and the crazy girl kept giggling at something and he couldn't tell what it was cause he wasn't even talking to her. She was still talking to him when he noticed Nora coming with her friends.
"Finally I can get rid of this leech beside me," he thought.
Nora's eyes met his own and it suddenly felt like they were in a staring competition as she got closer to where he was. The two of them didn't really talk but the day after she had confronted him he talked to her during lunch time but after that they barely saw each other. Nora decided to look forward instead of looking at him but she was caught off guard when someone pulled her bag making her stop in her movement and she suddenly turned when she felt someone's hand on her shoulder, the next thing that followed was the gasps of shocked students. Nora's eyes looked at the hand before she tilted her head to look at the person's face and her eyes widened.
"Where do you think you are going....."
