Chapter 6 - CHAPTER SIX

"What the fudge!" Nora eyes widened, the person was yet to notice her. When the person eyes met hers he stilled and looked like he was about to turn around but before he could turn his name was called.

"Ian, come over here, I saved a seat," Zach shouted and Ian walked up to them. Zach stood up and they both shook hands and brushed their shoulders against each other and he sat down on the free seat in front of Nora, his gaze still holding hers and Jasmine caught this action and she decided to introduce them. "Ian this is Nora and Nora this is Ian our school's jock he's in 12th grade A and he's quite famous among the girls.

"Hi Nora," he simply said and Nora cleared her throat, "Hi," she replied and closed her mouth.

"Is this still a coincidence, how can we be neighbors, well not really neighbors but we do live in the same Estate, and even school mates, ugh someone kill me, why is he everywhere?" Nora questioned herself inwardly still unable to wrap her head around this weird fate.

Some minutes before that time, Ian was in his class when he heard one of his classmates say, "There's a new diva in our school but unfortunately she's not in our class."

"I'm going to ask her out," another person said. "Hey dude, do you think her classmates are stupid, they will definitely ask her out too, right Ian? A girl asked her cheeks looking flushed as she looked at him bashfully but he did not even answer her as if she was not talking to him. The girl turned red then white, she looked like she was on the verge of crying.

"Geez, you don't have to be so cold-hearted Ian, anyways, I saw the girl side view, she has long brown hair and she's quite tall too," That was when Ian looked up and stared at the boy that just said it and he had a feeling that the person was Nora. And here he was seating in front of her.

"It's just few minutes before lunch will be over, we should all head to class," Jasmine suggested, looking at everyone.

"Jas is right we should go back to class," Zoe supported. They all stood up with their trays and went to drop them at the counter before they left the cafeteria.

Outside the cafeteria, Nora tried to talk to Ian but he wasn't even looking at her so she couldn't say anything.

"Bye babe, see you when it's closing," Zach said pecking Zoe on her cheek and she hit his arm, her face turning pink.

"Ewww, disgusting, how can you practice PDA in front of me, Nora close your eyes or you might puke," Jasmine said acting disgusted but she still smiled. Nora chuckled and her eyes met Ian's own and everything seem to fade into the background, he started walking purposely towards her and when he was an inch away he halted and she darted her gaze away. She saw him move from the corner of her eyes, and she waited for him to at least say something but she only felt his arm brush against hers gently as he walked past her. "Rude," she thought.

".....right Nora, Nora are you listening?" Jas asked. "Hmmm were you saying something," Nora questioned looking at Jasmine.

"You looked lost, I was just talking about our categories, Zoe and I are in the first one which one are you in?" She asked.

You can tell us, we promise not to hold it against you," Zoe added softly.

"Ohh, my da...father owns a company and my mom works in her father's company, she's a shareholder," Nora said quietly as they walked to their class.

She remembered that she and her father were not on good terms but she did not let it ruin her mood or show in her expression.

"That means we are all in the same category, that's good I didn't want my friend to feel intimidated just because of some category the student set in the school," Zoe sighed. "True," Jasmine agreed.

"Now that I noticed it you guys don't have that purple ruby thing on your tie and I saw some students in the cafeteria with that thing on their tie," Nora muttered.

"Only some foolish set of people use it, we don't use it cause it's just stupid and people know not to cross us," Jasmine replied and Nora nodded.

"Is he always like that? I mean Ian I don't think I saw him smile at all," Nora said. The two friends shared a look then looked at Nora. "Yes he's always like that, he rarely smiles, I've given up on his case," Jasmine sighed. "Jas had a huge crush on him before, she even asked him out but he didn't give her any attention and he broke her heart, it was epic cause no one has ever turned her down," Zoe smirked with a gleam in her eyes as if it was a fond memory she could never forget.

"That enough Zoe, you don't have to rub it in my face," Jasmine shouted clearly embarrassed as she hurried into their class leaving Nora and Zoe behind.

"It must have been a bad experience for her," Nora said feeling bad for her friend.

"Yeah since then she has been going out with guys she barely likes, let's go inside and comfort her," Zoe sighed.

Throughout the class Nora could not focus she was looking at the teacher's lips but she couldn't hear anything. Her head and mind was in a mess so she excused herself and went to the restroom to splash water on her face.

"This guy is messing with my head, why him? Why this school?" She questioned no one in particular as she continuously splashed water on her face and stopped when she heard footsteps and voices coming from the entrance of the restroom.

"Who's your blind date for our outing? I'm thinking of going with Davis," the first voice said.

"Well I'll just take any handsome boy that seems interested," the second person said.

"Hmm, there are a lot of boys asking me out but I'm sure you guys know who I want right?" Another voice said with a voice filled with pride and arrogance and finally Nora saw three girls through the mirror in front of her. The girl at the side was thin with short brown hair, the one in the middle had long silky blonde hair while the one at the right side of her had dark red hair with freckles around her nose and she was a little shorter than the other two girls.

"The one in the middle must be their leader," Nora thought to herself and she decided to leave but before she could reach the door, the girl in the middle shouted and she halted, "Hey! Are you blind or what? Didn't you see your seniors?" She asked rudely, her eyebrows arched arrogantly. "How dare you try to walk past us like that," the girl at the left added.

Nora closed and opened her eyes, uttered some curse words before she looked at them with a smile on her face. "I'm sorry but I'm new here so I don't know you guys." Nora looked at their ties and saw that they had the purple rubies on them.

"It doesn't matter, you must have heard my name somewhere," the girl in the middle said in a matter of fact tone as she glared into Nora's skull. She looked at Nora's tie and saw that she didn't have the purple ruby on her tie but she didn't look poor, the hairpin on her hair looked really expensive and her shoes where the latest edition. "She's the girl everyone has been talking about, I saw her during lunch too," the girl with freckles exclaimed, her eyes widened in realization as she looked at Nora.

"Oh! Now I remember where I saw you," their leader said moving closer to Nora.

"I saw you with Ian and just so you know we are very close like very very close so make sure you keep your distance. I know he's cute and handsome and you might fall for his charm but he's taken, everyone in this school knows about our relationship so go ask them."

"What was with this weird girl, she didn't even ask for any explanation, if they were close they would have had lunch together and she kinda looked dumb too, ugh," Nora thought but continued to smile.

"Oh! Is he also your boyfriend, I must say that guy has a lot of of girlfriends," Nora replied.

"You..don't mean that, yeah he has a lot of crushes but he doesn't have a girlfriend or did Jasmine tell you he had one," the girl blurted.

"So...you just admitted that he's nothing but a classmate and you just happen to have a crush on him," Nora smirked because the girl fell for her little trap. She was not sure if Ian had a girlfriend but she was sure he won't have such bad taste in girls.

"You!..watch your back," the blonde girl threatened lightly before she smiled at Nora before leaving with the girls who looked at Nora and snickered.

"Now I'm really thinking of leaving this school. Ian this, Ian that, Ian, Ian everywhere," Nora muttered as she stepped out of the restroom and went back to her class.

"What took you so long?" Zoe whispered to her when the teacher faced the other side. "I had a little problem," Nora whispered back.

"A little problem, at least for now...."
