Damon's POV
I drove into Crestwood with determination pulsing through my veins, heading straight for my father's corporate headquarters. As I walked through the familiar corridors, I found Raymond already waiting in his office, curiosity evident on his face.
"What's this impromptu visit about, Damon?" Raymond leaned against his desk, arms crossed. "You were pretty vague on the phone."
"Dad showed up at my place on Saturday," I replied, watching his expression shift from curiosity to surprise. "He cornered Maya while I was handling an emergency call."
Raymond's eyebrows shot up. "That's impossible. Mom specifically told me he went to visit an old friend in the next town over." My brother had always been my inside man, keeping tabs on our parents' movements and warning me of potential storms.
"Well, she lied," I said flatly. "He found Maya alone, trying to convince her to persuade me to return to the family business. According to her, he was surprisingly civil about it."
